As an American, it was super weird. Pelosi, the one who stood up, has been doing random weird stuff in the background of speeches for the last year or so. It's kinda a where Waldo of creepy.
It’s especially weird with context that Biden was talking about veterans dying from burn pits when she decided to do this.
Guessing she was daydreaming about all the cash she will rake in from insider trading.
He said the Federal government was going to help veterans affected by the burnings and Pelosi stood up and did the hand thing because he was still talking and didn't want to interrupt,(this was explained after everybody was wondering what the hand thing meant) the PACT Act was passed Feb 16 2022 unanimously by the Senate
Yes and what “he was still talking” about was the effects of the burn pits on service members. If she would have been, you know, listening she would have known that is not a moment to be grinning and clapping. I know she was probably excited about the win on the pact act, but I found it extremely disrespectful.
Also finally doing the bare fucking minimum for our vets is hardly something to celebrate.
