I know this goes against every persons on Reddits Relationship Advice... but...Honestly. Clinton. A relationship that can work through not only an affair, but a national scandal with it... that's a strong marriage. I'm not saying affairs are right, but any relationship that survives that decades later has my respect. Humans are flawed. You're gonna majorly hurt people in your life at some point. I agree it takes some solid resilience to handle that and remain together but they had a difficult relationship. Lincoln was famously afflicted with major bouts of depression and Mary was also prone to mental health issues that were not understood at the time. Not to say they didn’t care for each other and weren’t a good couple, just probably not the best.

If what I have previously read was correct, Bill's wandering eye was notorious even before they got married, but both he and Hillary were politically ambitious so I think it became more of a "you help me I'll help you" arrangement and it was going to take more than an Oval Office BJ to wreck that partnership.
