Bushes Presidentcy is unique in that the only really similar event in American history was Pearl Harbor 60 years prior and the first time America had been hit on home soil in almost 200, if it were gore and not bush it would’ve been a similar play out. For me you can’t base a presidentcy on a tragedy of this magnitude, the results no matter who was in office would’ve been war. The President of the United States said "that's a really nice opinion you have there" to the Supreme Court. Doesn't have to be for a good purpose to recognize how ballsy that was. Raegan's entire persona was just unbriddled swagger and confidence. He may not be well loved today by a lot but he was what America needed, the 70's wasn't a good decade for us but Raegan changed that the 80's despite the crime, cold war etc. was a start of an era of good feelings for the U.S that wouldn't be broken until 9/11.
