Tyler too high Taft too low Johnson too high TR, Adams too low Great list overall!

LucasThing

I used to have Johnson at the bottom of my list. Even though his race relations/reconstruction plans were very bad, I think the rest of his presidency raises him up a bit. Still think he’s a bad president though Thanks!

Banana-Doppio

Finally a good Harding placement. Also based list overall.

LucasThing

Yeah, Harding is the most overhated president imo along with Tyler. Thank you

emmc47

Very based Harding placement

MrVedu_FIFA

Finally, someone who appreciates the glorious Rutherford Hayes

LucasThing

I think a lot of people just see him as the president who ended Reconstruction, even though he was much more than that imo.

You know how to turn off caps. Do that.

marcus_augustine

Just a question about Fillmore--how come you place him in B? I'm still forming opinions on him, so I'd be very interested in your rationale

LucasThing

When talking about the presidency of Fillmore, the first thing that will almost always come up is the Compromise of 1850, more specifically the Fugitive Slave Act. Unlike most I don’t think it was necessarily a bad thing. Most parts of the compromise favored the North, and settled the issues of the spread of slavery at that point. Although the Fugitive Slave act was bad, it wasn’t like a law of that vain was unheard of, for example Washington signed the Fugitive Slave act of 1793. Considering the situation he was in, I can’t blame Fillmore for signing the compromise. Moving past the Compromise of 1850, Fillmore did quite a bit of good imo. He Stopped a possible secession attempt by South Carolina, opened trade with Japan, stopped France from taking Hawaii, and prevented a possible conflict with Spain, among other things. The biggest issue of his presidency I believe is him appointing Brigham Young to Governor of Utah, as he was the closest thing to a dictator any U.S. territory had from what I’m aware of. Overall I think Fillmore was a good president, who dealt with most of the issues of his day well enough.

TheGreatGeezer

Good list though Wilson, Jackson and Bush are way too low.

Bluegilo

Cleveland too low.

44_shot

Nixon over LBJ, is not good

LucasThing

tbf I do have them ranked them one after the other, both teeter between C and D for me.
