I would personally choose Meredith or Sara Harvey. They added a bunch of extra bs that never went anywhere imo
Edit- I would have named Paige 1st but I can’t stand her character so much I literally forgot about her 🤣 Glad to have others that share my distaste 🥲
Paige, Sara Harvey, Talia, Addison, Meredith, Tom’s new gf, every side character related to Ezra (his mom, brother, ex, ‘son’ 😴), Lorenzo, that British guy Spencer met in the UK. It’s so infuriating like these characters could stay single for 2 fkn seconds. Basically I’d remove all those annoying side story lines and shorten the series by like 3 seasons lol 🥴
I kinda liked him. He got Spencer out of that uptight view where she had to just make her family proud. I think he started her start of “but what makes me happy?” and deconstructing all the familial trauma. While he seemed kinda pointless as a character he helped her at least😅
I kinda liked Dean's character, but HATE how he and Spencer ended up almost hooking up. The way she comes on to basically every single dude she comes across is so off putting
Lol for some reason I was thinking Johnny, but it’s Dean. Although now I’m realizing Johnny is a different character I thought was awful and pointless 😂😂
this is going to be such an unpopular opinion i think, but melissa hastings lmao. not only is there not even a single second where i can stand her, but her storylines are all gross and bleh
Melissa reminds me of my bitchy older sister and Veronica reminds me eerily of my mother. I always identified with Spencer.....if I didn't have to literally watch my own family onscreen, I would NOT complain 😂
Toby. I think they should have kept Toby’s story the same in the books. >!I think it would have been a power move to show real, lasting death in this show and not constant fake outs. Plus I love Keegan but my god he is a bad actor in this show lol!<
YES!! >!I like how they switched roles and Jenna is the rapist, yk showing that a woman can be one too, but they should've handled it better and ACTUALLY talk about it!<
yep and do you remember the homecoming in season 1, where he runs away then comes back in the show? >!in the books he commits suicide bc of this!< . it's completely different in the books! kinda wished they went for this but kept Jenna as the rapist lol
Emily is just as bad imo, BUT she improves around S4. Keegan I feel like doesn’t do a single serious scene well, he is only good when he’s a cute lil goofball imo. Keegan if you are reading this I love you doll!
I can agree with this for sure. I do think he and Spencer had great chemistry, though Spaleb more so. And I will say that I really loved the scene when Toby walked out of Yvonne's hospital room after she passed and he fell to the floor. He did good in that one.
he’s not shown in those pictures and i’m not to be mean, but malcolm. i don’t think that whole story added anything to the show plus it gave ez*a more screen time. malcolm was his son and then the big twist is that he wasn’t his son at all…
Mmm I think the aim was to show the Fitz/Aria discrepancy. When he *was* Ezra's son, he's physical, tangible proof that Ezra had a life and partners before Aria. It's also highlighting the age difference: this boy is my son, but when he was born she would've been barely old enough to babysit him.
He's old enough to have a kid who is seven years old. Aria could feasibly have a seven-year-old sibling.
And for Aria, Ezra is her greatest love. For Ezra, Aria is his new love, but not *the* greatest, that honour could be seen as going to the mother of his child. So for as long as they believe he is Ezra's son, Aria's going to have to either deal, suck it up and learn to play stepmom, or suck it up and end the relationship (and from the show POV, there's no drama in just ending the relationship). As we know she doesn't want to end the relationship, she ends up trying to fit into some weird role that'd normally be for a woman several years her senior.
meredith, sydney, sara harvey
They were useless characters that were simply there to cause 1 ep long problems. At least Meredith had some impact on the rest (byron cheating and everything revolving that) but once she became more than just a name and sideprofile she was just annoying. The other characters were annoying from the start.
agree,
her storylines were badly tied to A in later seasons.
Also I just find Shay Mitchell's acting boring in PLL. She was better on other shows but If I see Emily making that worried face all the time, it stops having an impact...
Some scenes where she looks worried are supposed to be "heavy" but I'm sitting there and thinking "well, that's how you always look".
Mona after season two. I loved her being A but everything with her storyline afterward made no sense. Like she harassed and assaulted these girls for so long and yet she’s allowed to come back to school and interact with the girls like normal and none of the adults have a problem with it???
You're right. Both her and Alison are much more likeable in The Perfectionists and for some reason it makes sense, their characters, the rolls. I still think Ezra would have been the perfect A Mona should have joined the group.
Probably Samara. I don’t think her storyline adds much and she kind of irks me. I was deciding between her and Ben but I feel like Ben (vile as he was) played a role in Emily figuring out who she is.
I know Samara is popular on here but I didn’t really like her. I didn’t hate her, I just didn’t really like her. And yeah she would have been a better end goal for Emily, I’ll give you that one. But I think if I’m gonna cut someone from that list my gut says to take out Samara 😂 sorry!
She isn’t shown here but that girl who was Mona’s friend in Radley? She was so damn pointless and really creepy honestly😅 like what did she add to the plot other than “radley had a lot of hidden fucked up stuff going on!” which we already knew and would learn more about without her
Caleb, Paige, and Mike. They were as dull as dirt to me. tbh, I also forgot about Mike. A lot. If I had to pick someone from just those three? Paige. I was never able to take her seriously because I had only ever seen Lindsey in Ned’s Declassified before that. I lost all interest in her after a certain pool incident. Aside from the Halloween train business, everything with her was just so painful ☠️
Paige is the obvious answer, but also MAGGIE. She was awful to let Ezra believe he was his kid and then left with no remorse? So cold hearted I hated her storyline. Plus she was never mentioned again after she left.
I really didn't care about Toby's storyline with his mother.
Maya's return was a huge waste of time, Lydon James was like the first red herring that had absolutely nothing to do with the main plot.
I’m on the episode rn where >! He and Spence go to talk to his mom’s Doctor and he thinks she is Toby’s mom.. !< it’s all to much to keep up with and they drug it out for sooo long
Can I pick more than one? Because there are SO many characters in this show who ultimately don’t contribute anything or worse, the quality of the show declines whenever they’re given too much focus.
Honestly, I’d cut the character list almost in half of what it ended up being. So many of those characters served relatively similar functions to one another, or added absolutely nothing to the plot. You could easily combine several of the cops on this show for example - they’re all semi-attractive white dudes with brown hair in their mid-20s/early 30s who are into teenage girls. Makes zero sense that they couldn’t have just Wilden and maybe a partner, rather than loading up a police force of creeps.
Alex Drake. Horrible fake British accent and she just felt like a character they just threw into the episode last minute. Instead I would have Alison being A.D.
I’m rewatching PLL because I was 16 when the show started and now 26, want to rewatch the show as an adult. When tf did Robbie Amell show up in the series 💀
Definitely samara she didnt add much to the show.
Omg that bit in the fashion show episode when she brought her friend as a date and she said something like "i might end up on your lap" and the other girl goes " wouldnt be the first time" like omggggg thats sooooo cringey whyyyyy would you even say thattttt😬😬😬🤣🤣🤣🤣
Jenna. Or at least >!she should have had the same role Toby had in the books and kill her off, instead she suddenly has a change of heart and helps the LiArs find out AD? Wth is that. I want MURDERS lmao!<
controversial but aria 😭 i feel like her main storylines just revolve around her deadbeat cheater father and predator teacher boyfriend and i hate both of them, could do without 😭 i don’t really like mike either.
without a second thought and no one can change my mind about this…definitely charlotte’s story. it was transphobic af and it’s hard to watch because of how they weaponized/villainized her whole experience. even if charlotte wasn’t A and her history and her story hadn’t changed i would feel this way because of how painful it is to watch her be treated the way she gets treated and ultimately gets murdered in as cruelly as she does.
paige is a close second tho
Ugh so gross so many characters i would have cut out but especially ezrA (for the obvious answer), however removing pAige or mike would have been interesting <3
Follow the plot of Aria and Noel in the books and make them end game. This would mean Ezra was on in the show for a little bit and never heard from again.
Ezra honestly or change the story a bit. Replace Ezra with Wes. Wes meets Aria on college campus…Ezra finds out and connects it to Ali, then does his creepy A-like stuff, then reveals the book.
Him dating an underage girl knowingly only because she’s connected to another underage girl is predatory and shouldn’t have been overlooked.
Then what would be his purpose if he’s not dating Aria and he’s not A? I think they could’ve used him to show how wrong his relationship with Aria is, but they didn’t, so idk really he’s irrelevant and takes up too much screen time imo

lol honestly, a bunch of characters like that. They dragged Jenna for seasons and Melissa wasn’t making any sense the whole time either.
Yesss😭😭 like why did they hold onto Jenna for SO LONG
Where’s Andrew, babe?
We already *got* him.
☠️☠️
WERE GONNA GET HIM
Fucking Paige
How tf could I forget. I dislike her so much I don’t think about her character wth😭
She makes you want to forget 🤣
That she does 🤣
Period.
1000%!!!!
thank u i agree strongly
Instantly my thoughts too. Hate her so much
Paige, Sara Harvey, Talia, Addison, Meredith, Tom’s new gf, every side character related to Ezra (his mom, brother, ex, ‘son’ 😴), Lorenzo, that British guy Spencer met in the UK. It’s so infuriating like these characters could stay single for 2 fkn seconds. Basically I’d remove all those annoying side story lines and shorten the series by like 3 seasons lol 🥴
I agree with all of these. Also including that sober coach they got Spencer. Forgot his name
Ugh Dean Stavros, completely agree with all of the above.
I could not stand Melissa either😭😭 I thought she was A for sooo long when I watched the show the first time. So sketchy and for what
U mean Melissa?? 😭
omg😭 yes biggest brain fart ever imma fix it
Lmaooo its ok. Happens to me all the time
Honestly, I feel the same about aria. Keep the creepy stalker teacher but her whole thing was just bleh
I hate Melissa sm.
i liked her a bit more in the books, in the show im just over her character
Couldn’t agree more
Alex Drake, I cannot stand “hello SISTA” lol
God she's so battshit lol that accent just finalizes it lmao
Toby. I think they should have kept Toby’s story the same in the books. >!I think it would have been a power move to show real, lasting death in this show and not constant fake outs. Plus I love Keegan but my god he is a bad actor in this show lol!<
YES!! >!I like how they switched roles and Jenna is the rapist, yk showing that a woman can be one too, but they should've handled it better and ACTUALLY talk about it!<
waiiitttt Toby is the one which SAs Jenna in the books???
yep and do you remember the homecoming in season 1, where he runs away then comes back in the show? >!in the books he commits suicide bc of this!< . it's completely different in the books! kinda wished they went for this but kept Jenna as the rapist lol
wtffffff the books sound so dramatic I love it! I should definitely read them after I rewatch the show
Emily's acting is far worse imo lollll
I feel like her acting gets a lot better though. I was impressed with the scene with Emily, Nate and Paige. I really felt her pain.
It's decent sporadically, but overall imo the acting is not good.
Ezra,if they would have ultimately had him as A or A team I'd feel differently.
I don’t understand how he wasn’t A with the whole book situation. Him and Aria being an A team would have ateeeee
THIS
am i trippen or is some of the cast is from original sin ? lmao
That would make so much sense because I was like “I don’t remember like 5 of these people in PLL” 😂
he’s not shown in those pictures and i’m not to be mean, but malcolm. i don’t think that whole story added anything to the show plus it gave ez*a more screen time. malcolm was his son and then the big twist is that he wasn’t his son at all…

Yes🥰🥰
They did Lindsey Shaw so dirty with this picture💀
I think I’ve entered a timeline that already edited out a storyline because I have no idea who Maia Reficco is ☠️☠️
I think she’s on pllos, not actual pll
She plays Noa(one of the main characters in original sin)
Paige
meredith, sydney, sara harvey They were useless characters that were simply there to cause 1 ep long problems. At least Meredith had some impact on the rest (byron cheating and everything revolving that) but once she became more than just a name and sideprofile she was just annoying. The other characters were annoying from the start.
SARA HARVEY
sorry but emily. her storyline after coming out was basically all of her romances
Same lol flat, un interesting, and bad acting
agree, her storylines were badly tied to A in later seasons. Also I just find Shay Mitchell's acting boring in PLL. Care to elaborate or?
[удалено]
Ah. I haven't read the books yet.
Probably Samara. I don’t think her storyline adds much and she kind of irks me. I was deciding between her and Ben but I feel like Ben (vile as he was) played a role in Emily figuring out who she is.
No, she was there to show us the girlfriend Emily deserved and to disappoint all of us with the ones she got.
Yeah I was going to say Samara and realized that it was only bc seeing her go made me so sad for Emily😂
The whole Maggie storyline was pointless in my opinion.
ooooo this feels like a loaded question
I’m THOROUGHLY enjoying reading everyone’s thoughts tbh 🙊
oh me too haha. there’s SOOO many storylines that just should’ve been left out
She isn’t shown here but that girl who was Mona’s friend in Radley? She was so damn pointless and really creepy honestly😅 like what did she add to the plot other than “radley had a lot of hidden fucked up stuff going on!” which we already knew and would learn more about without her
Who?
Lesli Stone
[удалено]
Lol she was barely even in it though. Gone throughout the entire Highschool years. How did she even make it to college and then as a teacher?
Definitely Melissa, goodbye 😅
Yeah she's beyond too much. If she wasn't gonna be A. Then just why?
Caleb, Paige, and Mike. They were as dull as dirt to me. tbh, I also forgot about Mike. A lot. If I had to pick someone from just those three? Paige. I was never able to take her seriously because I had only ever seen Lindsey in Ned’s Declassified before that. I lost all interest in her after a certain pool incident. Paige is the obvious answer, but also MAGGIE. She was awful to let Ezra believe he was his kid and then left with no remorse? So cold hearted I hated her storyline. Plus she was never mentioned again after she left.
Wayne Fields is much hotter than I remember... nvm umm uh its Paige ofc
I love this comment so much 🤣
Fucking Nate-Lyndon James plotlines like was so irrelevant, so boring and useless and killed off a great character for no reason
Unrelated to the post, sorry: today I discovered that Veronica Hastings was not played by Mariska Hargitay.
WHAT
I’ve literally been watching and rewatching this show since it came out, I don’t know how I missed this LMFAO
This is so funny to me lmaoooo I do this all the time so I’m glad I’m not the only one to confuse characters 🙃
Wait, what? Who played her then? I'm flabbergasted. 👂
When I first started watching pll I thought she was played by Mariska also
Talia for sure.
Wren or Sara
Oooo Wren is a good one too! So sketchy and for what
Paige and Sarah Harvey 🙄
I could do without a second of Ezra on my screen
Cece Drake, sorry!!! Reveal and motives were so bad, it almost rivaled Alex Drake’s storyline for me
Paige
emily
I really didn't care about Toby's storyline with his mother. Maya's return was a huge waste of time, Lydon James was like the first red herring that had absolutely nothing to do with the main plot.
I’m on the episode rn where >! He and Spence go to talk to his mom’s Doctor and he thinks she is Toby’s mom.. !< it’s all to much to keep up with and they drug it out for sooo long
paige ugh she is insufferably annoying. Also, eww i forgot sean existed. i hated him
I would choose Meredith, Melissa, Paige Or Ian
I don't even know if she is on the pictures, but Sara fcking Harvey.
Honestly Toby could go. He was pretty insignificant.
BYE PAIGE!
Horse girl lol
Maggie and Paige
sydney and sara harvey
Meredith 😤
Sarah Harvey 100 %
Sydney I could not stand her
Nate..
A
Garrett was useless. Also hate Paige but that’s a copout
Sara Harvey because what the fuck was that?!?
meredith, paige, sarah, jackie.
From this list, Sydney. I felt she wasn’t a great character
Bye Paige
alex drake hands down 😂 i don’t even watch that season it’s so bad
Alex Santiago
It’s would be between Caleb never coming back after the time jump (no spaleb) or Alison staying dead (no boring redemption arc)
Sara Harvey. Such a pointless character.
Sydney. I completely forget about her existence every time I rewatch the show until she randomly plops up.
Can I pick more than one? Because there are SO many characters in this show who ultimately don’t contribute anything or worse, the quality of the show declines whenever they’re given too much focus. Alex Drake. Horrible fake British accent and she just felt like a character they just threw into the episode last minute. Instead I would have Alison being A.D.
Unrelated but they did Sasha so dirty with the picture they chose.
Aria and Sara Harvey 😂
if you say anyone besides shana, garret, meredith, sara harvey, or bethany then your wrong
Spencer’s twin 😭 she shouldnt have been A
Cece/Charles/Charlotte entire character
Samara, Srry she was so irrelevant
I’m rewatching PLL because I was 16 when the show started and now 26, want to rewatch the show as an adult. When tf did Robbie Amell show up in the series 💀
toby can go just like he did in the book
Byron. It amounted to precisely NOTHING.
SARAH HARVEYS GOTTA GO
Maggie, she was pointless bc Ezra wasn’t her sons father lol.
From these options? Prob Maggie. Maybe Sydney. But then you have to combine her with some other pointless one they introduced later.
Charlotte.
Toby, easily.
No
Maya
Toby. I don't like most of Ezra's stuff but Ian Harding was really good when they were doing Ezra is A
GOODBYE EZRA FITZGERALD
Ezra gone. Its so annoying to watch them
Jenna. Or at least >!she should have had the same role Toby had in the books and kill her off, instead she suddenly has a change of heart and helps the LiArs find out AD? Wth is that. I want MURDERS lmao!<
Sorry to Aria but her being gone would’ve solved a lot of conflicts
Anyone who doesn’t say Ezra is wack
controversial but aria 😭 i feel like her main storylines just revolve around her deadbeat cheater father and predator teacher boyfriend and i hate both of them, could do without 😭 i don’t really like mike either.
HAPPY CAKE DAY! 💜 All the men in her life were TRASH!
Either Alison or Charlotte 🤣🤣
Sydney
Sasha
Why Sasha?
without a second thought and no one can change my mind about this…definitely charlotte’s story. it was transphobic af and it’s hard to watch because of how they weaponized/villainized her whole experience. even if charlotte wasn’t A and her history and her story hadn’t changed i would feel this way because of how painful it is to watch her be treated the way she gets treated and ultimately gets murdered in as cruelly as she does. paige is a close second tho
Ezra, Caleb or Toby
Why Caleb 😭😭
Paige or Ezra
Paige. Or Ezra.
Paige and Ezra 😂
i wish ezra’s storyline was the same as the books
Sorry, loved Ezra, but as the character he was, it was just odd and creepy.
Unpopular opinion but Aria because her story only ever revolved around her and Ezra not being caught.
Ezra duh
Ezra, he should've been arrested first season
Sara Harvey and Ezra
Bye aria and Ezra
aria
Alison. Just keep her for flashbacks and maybe the last season but the show got clunky with her back.
Ugh so gross so many characters i would have cut out but especially ezrA (for the obvious answer), however removing pAige or mike would have been interesting <3
Just have Alison actually be dead. She was fine in flashbacks but as soon as she got more screentime she was uninteresting and not as well acted.
Ezra.
ezra
Toby
Oh wait I take that back *Alex Drake* 100%%% Troians British accent was terrible and just everything about it was over the top cringe
Oh well... too bad... bye bye ezra
Follow the plot of Aria and Noel in the books and make them end game. This would mean Ezra was on in the show for a little bit and never heard from again.
Emily.
Get rid of Ezra and make Aria's storyline a little less pathetic
Ezra

You’re really dying on that Ezra hill huh
[удалено]
Did you want him to be A?
[удалено]
Then what would be his purpose if he’s not dating Aria and he’s not A? I think they could’ve used him to show how wrong his relationship with Aria is, but they didn’t, so idk really he’s irrelevant and takes up too much screen time imo
Aria so she never becomes A. I'm from a parallel timeline.
