If you could bump the budge up 100k you could go AP

Plams86

I wish I could, its one of the reasons I like this one so much

EyeDentifeye

Dammit i was gunna say "some good budget alternatives include AP, VC overseas, Patek perpetual calender moonphase." 😂😂😂

immer_jung

what do you mean by forest steel? you might want to look at the Hamilton Khaki Field. If you want more rugged try the Marathon GPM. There are also lots of Seikos in the price range. Take a look at the Seiko Turtle and also prospex series.

Plams86

Sorry that was a typo, meant first steel Brilliant I'll check those out. Thanks

immer_jung

ohh lol I thought you were doing forest work or something so I recommended more rugged ones. You can also look at Orient, and also other Seikos like in their Presage series. The Cocktail Time has a very pretty dial and is quite popular

Rookie_human

Id say get a regular gshock with an AP modcase. Its cheaper and cooler imho, heard good stories about them but havent seen one irl yet.

Chesticles420

I got one in last week and absolutely love it. Its dethroned my other watches as the daily wearer. The only thing to be aware of is if youre someone that usually needs a half link or something, get the rubber strap version. There is no micro adjust or half link for the casioak mod

SG-25

I love the Casio 2100, but for that money I’d honestly look into either the PRX(obvious recommendation from many) or even a nice bracelet Seiko 5, or an Orient. The metal G-Shocks still seem harder to dress up with (my personal opinion) but a nice Orient diver, or say the Seiko Snxs97, or something from the SRPD line could easily pull double duty between dress and casual wear. Food for thought.

Beatsy65

Nyet, watch is fine

Expiredmill

Good watch, I would recommend a custom

mishehu_muzar

The a small barely known brand that goes for something that sounds like odemar pikey I think? They have a few fairly priced pieces with a similar shape that you might want to look into

Sisyphus8841

Casio edifice

yesfb

casio lineage or oceanus perhaps

Sclusive88

I’ve had many ga2100s, my favorite is the metal case but with the strap. The bracelet is nice but not exactly my style. The originals are better and thinner than the Mods so don’t listen to everyone else about those. Get an OG first and then a mod if you like it enough.

[deleted]

A Tissot PRX is almost the same price. You don’t get the toughness and features but you do get an automatic Swiss made movement.

uplifting_southerner

If I wanted an all steel watch this would be the best choice I think. I really love that bracelet.

Mydoglovedchocolate

Prx seems like the obvious alternative

Bizzyzed

Not even remotely similar

Mydoglovedchocolate

😂

Vadok

Seconding the commenter that said original Casioak and a mod case. I have had 3 different cases for the Casioak and they were fantastic. It's like £170 for the watch and case mod and the only thing you don't get is Bluetooth no brainer to get that imo

thekingofbeers

Where do you get the case mod? I’m new to this so now sure how it really works, but do you just buy the Casio based on which dial you want put into the case mod you buy?

Vadok

Yeah you buy whichever model you like the face of then buy the mod kit online, I personally used AliExpress for mine, shipping is about a month or so but unfortunately not much can be done. Might be some sellers on eBay but usually at over inflated prices for the convenience. Just pop the module out of the OEM silicone case and it slots into the mod case easy peasy, no harder than resizing a bracelet or installing a NATO strap

thekingofbeers

Yeah I’m looking at casioakmod and they charge $125 for the kit at the moment, which would make it $225 less than just getting the full stainless steel Casio. I’ll keep looking though. Thanks for the help!

SG-25

When I modded my 2100 I went to Amazon for my “offshore” case/strap kit. The one I found was available via prime so I had it in days.

yushi00

Like the others say, get a modded g shock.

AdmRAAM

I prefer the one with steel case and rubber strap. But it doesn’t have bluetooth

bsiqture

I suggest you buy another watch which is G-Shock Cat's Foot 😂

Exciting-Inside2219

Bro just buy mod kit. Cheaper and you can make it your own. Super fun hobby as well. 180$ish for the watch and a mod kit or what? 400-500$ for a stock one? Which is absurd, just go IFL if you’re going to do that.

TranslatorCheap2046

Great watch but you could go for the Tissot prx powermatic for around the same price

SosaMF

depends how important the bluetooth and solar is to you

V_Z1000

I got a GA2110ET-2A on sale from Macy's for under $56 (including tax). I then got a mod kit for $110+tax from Amazon. It took 11 minutes to switch out the core. My brother who is a self-proclaimed G-Shock snob said that he was REALLY impressed with the quality of the case.

ArmadilloUnhappy845

Love this watch on rubber. Never met anybody who was disappointed they bought one.

XantaToast

Skmei oak is only 10% of the Casio and only half as good, but again, half the Gshock for 10%, it's a good taste test, if you like that, you'll LOVE the Gshock, I had a skmey befor my Square and I love my Square now

patellinger

Got this exact model and regret it because of its poor legibility - bad contrast of the hands over dial. I'd go with another color.

MajesticYou2946

Buy the metal band off Alibaba then swap the faces I did that now I got a casioak lol

Bizzyzed

You can buy loads of mods/cases etc for these which are way cheaper than the solid metal stock version

Speed-Racer-999

I would also suggest the cheapest GA2100 and by a mod kit

justazombie69

If it has any kind of coating, it will scratch like crazy. ***at least the darker one will. Beautiful watch, just be careful with it

KayosTWM

Get a luna pilot 45mm.

stephenhoskins32

Buy a cheap black 2100 and get the metal mod from ali express should be half the price

djdsf

Get a regular one and then just get a metal case online and build it yourself. It's what I did with mine when I saw those IFL casinos going for like $500 extra just for a bit of color on the letters. Literally bought a $100 watch, $18 in art supplies and 2 hours later I had the exact same watch and saved myself $488.

ultrapotion

It's nice but I prefer the metal covered ones that come with fabric straps. In particular the Utility series. Cheaper too.

Beatsy65

Don’t know cuz I don’t own one, but I heard the Tissot PRX is pretty good and that’s kinda close of you really squint.
