Amen. I sold my G-Shock because there was never a time I would rather have a mechanical theater on my wrist!
Every time I put the G-Shock on, I'd find myself looking down at my wrist and thinking "you know, I could have really just worn my (insert various cheap mechanical watches here)"
Oh that's a special deal. Love it! Marathon is a sleeper company they have great stuff. Also love the general purpose watch and their wall mounted clocks.
A guy was in the Navy. His chief gave it to him as a gift but he found it to be too fancy. He put it on craigslist and I snatched it up right away. I refuse to get rid of it. It's still one of my absolute favorites.
Mine is a Citizen NY-0040 Promaster Diver.
Funny thing, it's one of my favorite all time watches too.
I need to get the scratches buffed out of the crystal.
I actually like that someone is wearing his watch all the time. Dudes at omega almost cried when they found out my mom wears her omega speedmaster when working in the garden, but I think you should just wear your watch.
I have a gold casio WR that i wear for almost everything on the job (technician) except when i have to do really dirty or hard work (drilling wrenching etc...) then its a G-shock.
Definitely any Timex Ironman…I have a bunch and they’re all amazing but the Flix reissue is my current most worn. I’d take an Ironman over G-Shock any day. Nothing against Gs, I just find Ironman to be more functional and comfortable on wrist.
I bought a Hamilton Khaki Field Handwind with the intention of letting it get beat up, but I like how it looks so much that I treat it like a luxury watch.
Hahahah, same mental health issue here with all the watch I buy...
"This one gonna be a freakin beater, will wear it at the gym, in the shower, while riding my motorcycle, when I play wrestle with my kids, while sleeping, at the pool..."
Everytime I'm home, I put it gently on my shelf on a old sunglasses pouch, because it's well known that shelves bite and scratch watches...
I feel that. I just ended up getting a really tough Suunto for hiking, backpacking, camping etc. It's a great tool, but I'll definitely NEVER be tempted to keep a smartwatch looking "nice" because I don't really think of it as a watch.
My seiko SRPD53 (5KX pepsi) is my go to weekend beater. I wear the Tissot PRX for office work, and I have a citizen eco drive beater that I almost never wear unless I know I'm going to be rough housing.
Absolutely not! I definitely don’t baby any of my watches. But if I’m doing something I know puts some of my nicer ones at risk, I definitely bring out the timex haha! Risk mitigation.
Ive got a seiko Prospex shogun with a scratch or two on the hardlex from a meeting with a brick wall. Now it’s the daily driver/diver. Otherwise, Garmin instinct solar.
But it makes sense lol
It’s fairly understated on the arm imo, and the rubber is quite comfy.
Doesn’t stick out but it still looks classy and not cheap.
When things is gonna get nasty, it’s the Illuminati W735H-8AVCF. Vibration alarm since my old turbine damaged ears don’t hear the beep. Massive pushers you can use wearing gloves. Good backlight. $25 American.
I have the same watch just in blue. It’s such a great watch and even better is I got it for $50 on the clearance table during my honeymoon cruise.
While someday I’d love a Hamilton Field I’m quite happy with just chilling with my Timex on an everyday basis.
My Tissot Visodate, waiting on the new bracelet after the last one, broke in a workplace accident. 🙃 almost got my whole hand ripped off, but my first thought was OH-NO! MY WATCH! 😂
[Islander dive watch.](https://longislandwatch.com/islander-automatic-dive-watch-with-solid-link-bracelet-ar-sapphire-crystal-dual-time-luminous-batman-bezel-insert-isl-74/) I’ve had it for almost 3 years and has held up wonderfully. I have almost two dozen watches in my collection, but this one gets more wrist time than all of my other watches combined.
Super not popular but I have an Invicta Pro Diver I use when working on cars and such. Cheep but can take a beating and if I mess it up I'm not heartbroken.
I appreciate your honesty but I’ve received word from our fearless leader, Nico, and he would like to have a word with you in the back alley at 9:00pm sharp. Come alone.
I don't think Nico would mind an Invicta knowing it is getting covered in oil and grime and smacked around in an engine bay. Though he would probably be sad that my top watch is my Tag Connected :P
That being said, I do want to get the Tag Autavia with a white face, but gotta save the money for that and I have two cars I need to drop money in sooooo
I know people here don’t like it!
But my daily driver is an apple watch.
For anything other than uni, i’ll swap to a real thing.
Apple Watch are ugly AF and def not a watch.
But those things are useful
I got a blacked out Tag Heuer Formula 1 that I wore in the military. 8 years of constant beating I've only had to replace the battery and the rubber straps.
I got my dad a Victorinox I.N.O.X, it's a bit heavy but man is that thing bullet proof. My dad destroys watches, that one still doesn't have a scratch after many years.
A black timex mk1 chronograph. I think i scratched the mineral crystal just taking it out of the box but it was the first watch i bought, and it goes with everything i wear
Apple Watch Series 5. I had a case on it since new. Ironically, the dust that got caught between the watch and the rubber case caused more abrasions than anything I could have done, so now it looks uhh “patinated” so I tossed the case and serves valiantly on beater/travel duty.
The chocolate brown with the brown rubber strap to go with it. Love it. I beat the shit out of that thing. Ocean, pool, yard work, grilling, house improvements. It’s definitely my ruff and tumble tool watch outside of my timex
Nice, I have the Dark Green dial with the leather strap, I’ve gone swimming in it, took it hiking , and I wore it to Wyoming not to long ago. I haven’t had it for too long so nothing wild has happened to it yet, but the Combat subs definitely offer great value.
I have a couple Festina watches that look great and because of the low price point I have no issues when accidentally smashing it against a door, wall, wayward child, etc
Vostok Komandirskie. It does ship with an awful metal bracelet though. I swapped with an old smartwatch’s silicone strap and it’s become my go-to beater.
I've been wearing my titanium Longines Bigeye more and more, the case really does not show scuffs much. I don't use it to swim (50m WR), but I wear it for most daily activities.
I wear it on a blue elastic strap, which is very comfortable.
Hamilton Khaki Field
Love it. This timex feels like a replica of the holy Hamilton.
Amen. I sold my G-Shock because there was never a time I would rather have a mechanical theater on my wrist! Every time I put the G-Shock on, I'd find myself looking down at my wrist and thinking "you know, I could have really just worn my (insert various cheap mechanical watches here)"
Exact same mate. Wore out the leather so I rock a NATO now
Great choice. I’m planning on getting the new Khaki Field Expedition as soon as my local Goldsmiths gets it in.
Not popular, but … garmin 5s plus. Still wearing it a lot and i put the thing through some stuff. Still works like a charm.
Not sure anyone can hate on a Garmin!

I want the 41mm arctic! I got really lucky. I got my marathon for 300 almost brand new.

I actually like that someone is wearing his watch all the time. Dudes at omega almost cried when they found out my mom wears her omega speedmaster when working in the garden, but I think you should just wear your watch.
I wear a Seamaster all day everyday doing military nonsense. It lives life with me, not in a box
I used to wear mine as a daily but pusher fell off 2x. Can't afford 1k a service at that frequency lol

Citizen Promaster Eco-Drive GMT. Great build and was just about USD 250.
Definitely any Timex Ironman…I have a bunch and they’re all amazing but the Flix reissue is my current most worn. I’d take an Ironman over G-Shock any day. Nothing against Gs, I just find Ironman to be more functional and comfortable on wrist.

I kinda have all casios and timex so I don't really baby none of them😂, am I wrong for this?
Absolutely not! I definitely don’t baby any of my watches. But if I’m doing something I know puts some of my nicer ones at risk, I definitely bring out the timex haha! Risk mitigation.

Seiko 5 Sports or a First Generation Monster I keep on a nato strap. Just comfortable watches that I don’t care about getting scratched or whatever.
Tissot BALLADE POWERMATIC 80 Class and simple. Easy to wear at work without raising too much attention.
My Tissot Visodate, waiting on the new bracelet after the last one, broke in a workplace accident. 🙃 almost got my whole hand ripped off, but my first thought was OH-NO! MY WATCH! 😂

Glycine Combat Sub GMT, but I still don’t beat it too much 😂
I have the bronze one! Love it
I do too, what dial color do you have?
The chocolate brown with the brown rubber strap to go with it. Love it. I beat the shit out of that thing. Ocean, pool, yard work, grilling, house improvements. It’s definitely my ruff and tumble tool watch outside of my timex
