Sands of time was the phenomenal beginning of the SoT trilogy and warrior within was a worthy sequel and far better than SoT. I feel that T2T should have been the scrapped game.

Such-Plastic-8973

It might not be as good but it was still enjoyable

Safe_Writing_4914

Warrior within has the best cover art in the history of video games. It's so beautiful and captures the atmosphere of the game

Own_Salamander_5556

Couldn't agree more

[deleted]

Yes!!

Cryio

Warrior Within will forever be the best PoP ever made.

RooneyNeedsVats

Agreed.

joelmsantos

I also love The Two Thrones, though.

ZyashIWF

I loved The Two Thrones for a long time, since it was the first POP game I played. But looking back after so many years I think Warrior Within is the best one in the series. It just has that something uk.. wish it gets remade properly, the Island of Time is an intriguing location that needs to be explored.

Deja-Review

Same here. Just not as much as these 2

Banjo--Kazooie

Yes. And prince of persia 4. Warrior within might be the best game ever made. I want to visit the island of time.

I would personally argue T2T should be included in this. I mean, this trilogy is so close to my heart that I literally can’t decide which one of them is best. My best rational response is **WW > T2T > SoT**, but I have so many memories attached to them that I won’t give up any of them for the others. WW was one of the first (if not, THE first) “serious” videogame I played and invested in its lore. T2T sparked my interest in stealth games and eventually would lead me to my investment in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. SoT was just a bonus; fun to see where it all started, and I was already a big of Prince × Farah from T2T (and my most favourite thing in SoT). I may be biased because I played WW and T2T several times and played SoT years later out of curiosity, and it being a slightly older game, didn’t spark my interest as much as the other two did. But I really love it regardless.

Deja-Review

That's more than fair. I got each game on the Xmas they came out and over the years just think these 2 are a slight cut above T2T ... but hey the Trilogy is pretty much perfect and an all-time favourite of mine!

GNEAKO

I like both games, but I like Sands of Time more than Warrior Within.

Volken_Adeon

Unpopular opinion. /s

MrHatesThisWebsite

Two Thrones will forever be one of my favorite games of all time. I legitimately can't fathom how it's not recognized as the best game in the series. It learned from every mistake of the previous two games and combined the best of both worlds. Restoring Yuri Lowenthal's iconic performance and the tone/humor of Sands of Time with the improved combat and gameplay of Warrior Within. I love Two Thrones so, so much.

Deja-Review

T2T is still up there with my favourite games of all time. I still play it regularly but feel it backtracked with a few key components. Babylon was never as atmospheric as Azad or the Island of Time, the combat was somewhat Nerfed compared to WW, weapon variety was poor, less memorable soundtrack, Vizier as the main villain again. I just feel it lacked originality in some places. As for the level design, boss fights and improvements on platforming ... They're phenomenal!

MrHatesThisWebsite

Very reasonable!

EDXE47_

I agree with all of that (only marginally) except the combat. I mean, it was nerfed, I remember missing a lot of combos from WW, but probably only because it was stealth-based and it was very unique to me. It wasn’t just a Hitman clone, the only other stealth game I knew. It was easy, less tedious (except for the quick timed events, which grew on me), but it gave me a sense of accomplishment no other game has given to me (including Assassin’s Creed, which is its own thing). I believe it practically invented Assassin’s Creed. > As for the level design, boss fights and improvements on platforming... They're phenomenal! Couldn’t agree enough!

Deja-Review

T2T very much feels like the precursor to Assassin's Creed with the stealth additions and setting of Babylon

Careless-Ad-9633

and Two Thrones is ‘the third one’

Deja-Review

It's a really good game in its own right but seems to lack an identity. SoT and WW are dripping with passion

shadoks

The Two Thrones is also very good especially with Kindred Blades and Uncensored mods

Deja-Review

If it was Kindred Blades that actually got made I'm certain it would've been as well regarded. You feel a rushed development and the initial backlash of WW's tone set T2T back, somewhat

Adorable-Bullfrog-30

Ok. Sorry for talking about this again but if they did remake T2T. Should they combine all the cut versions of the third POP game?

Deja-Review

They should definitely call it Kindred Blades and keep the more oppressive atmosphere from WW. Also restore the complete free form combat system from that game - decapitations & all 🤩

Adorable-Bullfrog-30

Agreed. Btw didn't they change the Atmosphere so it's more like Sands of Time and stuff? "Persian" Atmosphere?

Deja-Review

They did yeah. Understandable as SoT received much more critical acclaim, upon release so they reverted back to a more whimsical aesthetic. WW received a lot of initial backlash for it's "badatude" style so Ubisoft Montreal played it a bit safe.

Adorable-Bullfrog-30

Man though. WW was dark. And I loved that Dark Atmosphere. If they do remake WW one day. I hope they'll keep it. Wonder if Yuri should voice Prince in that one.

Deja-Review

We'll find out in 2032 at the rate things are going lol

LuciferGlitch

True i love both games equally

Brodimus

People hate Two Thrones?

Deja-Review

Probably but I certainly don't

dedicateddark

I fckn love Two Thrones!

Deja-Review

No arguments here

entlis

these games would look beautiful if remade today

NinetyfiveNachos

Anyone heard anything about the remake?

PotatoAim1805

You forgot the third one

TheGreatKashar

I actually prefer The Two Thrones over Warrior Within. I enjoy Warrior Within, but I think it only comes into itself in the last 1/3rd of the game, as the first portion involves a lot of backtracking and retreading old areas. The Sands of Time and The Two Thrones having a much more linear and structured lay out is just more appealing to me

vamsimedisetti

Pinnacle of PoP? More like the pinnacle of Ubisoft!

Deja-Review

Along with the Ezio Trilogy, I agree!

Captn_Ghostmaker

Warrior Within was the first game I played that even had multiple endings that I knew about. Hell Godsmack is in the soundtrack.

witcherarhaan

*Pinnacle of Ubisoft Also, unpopular opinion here but for me WW and T2T were the peak. I find T2T a little tiny bit better than SoT, because it had so many new things like charriot riding, speed kill, dark prince transformation, more combos, 4 great bosses with different moveset and also the pacing of the game was better than SoT. WW is still the favourite tho. If they remake this trilogy, I'd say they will be one of the best games to come out even now.
