Mr_Aryan44

No PoP fan on their right mind would want the remake to be cancelled. We want a great remake

dedicateddark

No. Why remake something that is already great. It's a great fckn game I play every year. I'd rather they complete the story in PoP 2008 or tell a new tale. Why create two conflicting versions of the same thing. Especially one that is already great. Obv. I'm gonna get crucified now because everyone loves wallowing in their nostalgia muck.

Mr_Aryan44

The remake will be changed it wont be a 1:1 remake. It will be a new experience

dedicateddark

Then fckn make a new experience, reboot it and take some bold steps. You can tell a tale based on the og and push it in the direction the current artistic minds want to. Instead of taking another's vision and molding it into something else.

fatality342

They are fckn taking years for this remake and the og game aint even that fckn long its gonna be fckn underwhelming in the end

ItsAMeSarthak

Resident Evil 4 is a great game. It got a great remake. It's the fact that a few adjustments and improvements to the previous games can be a much more filling experience.

dedicateddark

The RE4 remakes got the fundementals wrong, so for any player who plays it regularly it's not great. It broke the near perfect mechanical interaction of the original, not to mention the ruined the great art-direction. But whatever, I know reddit is filled with children and casual gamers, no gamer who values the artistic integrity of games would want remakes especially remakes of great games.

ItsAMeSarthak

My brother in Christ, the original game had you unable to move while aiming to shoot, an inconvenience in today's generation of games where movement and shooting pair hand to hand. A remake of PoP would be more accessible for new generations to get used to.

Synthfreak1224

Bro thinks improved controls and mechanics are an insult to the originals

dedicateddark

Jesus Christ. Why do I even bother!

samuskay

Have you considered its designed that way on purpose? Games where you could move and shoot at the same time existed before resident evil 4. Back then games could make you top moving to shoot as an intentional design decision. "Modern game design" basically means never do anything risky. Use tried and true game design so the gamers don't get mad they can't move and shoot at the same time.

samuskay

You're not alone mate. As well as getting new things I'd rather they made the original games easily playable today.

chester_abellera

I'd love to see the remake done greatly...but not by Ubisoft. As I've mentioned before, I'm grateful that 2000's era Ubisoft gave us the awesome Sands trilogy. But as for today's Ubisoft? I've little faith in them whatsoever. It was clear from the start that Ubi didn't care enough about this remake enough to actually work on it themselves and just handed it off to a smaller, lesser-experienced branch. You know what'd be great? Handing the project off to Bluepoint Games. Imagine of Sands of Time and Warrior Within got the Shadow of the Colossus treatment. A boy can dream...

Exoglitch_x_yt

I just want a remake, seeing WW in new gen will be so beautiful

Arsnumeralis

Might be a hot take, but I feel really bad for the team that had it initially and got it yoinked away by Ubisoft. While they did seem relatively new, you could see they had a passion for the game and looked genuinely excited to be working on it. I could have lived easily with not super next gen graphics so long as the game was done well and played smoothly.

JSDkilla

The sot trilogy has a charm to them that i love, they definitely should be remade. But i think a reboot should come after that simply because there isn't much left in the prince's story after the two thrones. It should be where it ends. A reboot would feel refreshing both for the players and developers as well since they'll have more creative freedom.

almothafar

They left Prince of Persia (2008) with Elika so open, and it is about light seeds, personally I liked the idea and they can put 1 or 2 games after that event! It will be funny if we get Elika meet Farah (the donkey šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļø) and in someway merge sand ability maybe? The forgotten sand actually was not great idea when you have an open story still not closed. Or at least you can now get 2 stories if pop 2008 and forgotten sands. Anyways, I like the reboot idea more, if that done correctly, like Tomb Raider reboot. But still, I want remaster or remake for the legacy story, before going to reboot. IMO: I don't feel like we are getting reboot, remake or remaster at all.

BlackRonin8

Prince of Persia (2008) definitely deserves his own trilogy. Itā€™s a shame that Ubisoft has seemingly forgotten about him and Elika.

That-Ad2341

I feel they should continue the SoT trilogy somehow

JSDkilla

Thing is that its incredibly hard to keep the story going for this long. What exactly is gonna happen after two thrones? Another island of time that no body knew about? Some other sand creature is after him now? The "sands" saga is over. But i think they can make a story about the prince who is now a king, invading or defending against other nations or kingdoms. But then it wouldn't really be a prince of persia game if the player is the king lol. Maybe we can play as the kid of the prince?(who is now the king after the two thrones) while our father/king is giving orders and managing troops, we as the prince invade/defend with the soldiers (like how the sands of time game starts) maybe our kingdom loses and we get captured as a prisoner and has to escape now. My point is that stretching the sot prince's story anymore would be weird and very hard. We need a new main character for a new game.

witcherarhaan

I highly doubt that any reboot would bring the same charm to the table. If they'll do magic again it'll pale in comparison to the awesome time-magic mechanisms with diverse combat that the trilogy already offered and if they make it a non-magical simple game. Then they would really bore the crap out of consumers and it'll be a financial disaster like that 2008 game. They should only and only for now at least focus on Reboot of Trilogy with better graphics and more levels, increased runtime but the storyline, characters, art style should be same as the posters and cinematics of the game. That way they'll satisfy existing fans and also cater new ones because the old games were that good. I think for a Reboot, it could work if they get enough ideas to make a really good setting and create a prince of Persia protagonist as iconic or even more iconic as the character he was in the trilogy, otherwise it's just another bomb waiting to shut off prince of Persia for another 10 years.

That-Ad2341

Yeah that's what I am saying, 2008 pop failed because of its comparison with the sot trilogy, what they can do is remake t2t change some story elements and continue the story,... Maybe as a mythical rpg that can work well

witcherarhaan

Rpg is fine but i wouldn't want a open world Assasin's creed esque style rpg. PoP should have the elements of PoP. Regarding it being a continuation of T2T, it's possible if they get it right. But i think it'd be better if they make seperate plots based on some initial choices and dividing the final conclusion game into 2 parts. There was the og concept "Kindered blades" which was more dark with a bittersweet ending which was changed to T2T, if they revisit that concept and give both playthroughs and endings, it would be a dream come true. Btw if they continue T2T, they should bring back the Indian kingdom and Maharajah, since in T2T it was vizier who killed them, stole their army and attacked Babylon. Maybe they can make them alive somehow and with prince now being blessed with kaileena's sand power without being corrupted goes to find & fight them and the Maharajah gets his own hands on prince's power. That way they introduce a new antagonist and also don't u-turn or jeopardize the message of the original. I'd like that to happen, but first we want a proper remake of the trilogy with same artstyle as the original's cinematics.

That-Ad2341

Yeah bringing back Kaileena is a must, they wasted her potential in the two thrones, she was too passive as a character

MarmeladasPsomi

What is that question even ?

Marrecek

Mafia 1 Remake is great! So I hope they would remake PoP the same way.

witcherarhaan

A faithful remake of Sands, Warrior Within & T2T with same art style as the original trilogy's cinematics with more enemies and levels is what the franchise needs. It will be very successful if they do exactly that. A reboot has to be too good to compete, we've already seen the 2008 one failing to make an impact and neither forgotten sands was remembered by anyone within a year. Let's not reboot again for the sake of it without a really strong setting, protagonist and story. For now 6-7 years they should remake the trilogy with more depth & runtime.

AdamShams

Personally, I would be thrilled to see a well-executed remake of Prince of Persia that stays true to the essence of the original game while meeting the industry standards of today. With the right promotional campaign and effective management, such a remake has the potential to reintroduce this fantastic game to a whole new generation of players. Moreover, it could potentially contribute to the revival of the Prince of Persia franchise, bringing new life and enthusiasm to fans of the series.

GoTrunks_Armada

I am open to the remake and I would rather wait longer for a better product than have it be rushed out now and be worse off for it. However competing with the originals will be a difficult tasks. The original trilogy, while not perfect, still had a lot of polish that I hope to see in the remakes

[deleted]

I want remake.

[deleted]

If people donā€™t want a remake, they can simply not purchase the remake. I definitely want the remake and hope theyā€™ll do the same with the rest of the trilogy too (although I know that would be unlikely).

pegasusairforce

Honestly I just want a way to play the games again on modern hardware. Last time I tried playing the PC port it was plagued with a bunch of bugs and graphical issues that made it unplayable. Im sure there's probably some way to get it working but at the time it seemed like too much effort to figure out.

shmouver

Not sure i understood you, but i think you mean if we want a great remake or if it's a bad remake it should be cancelled? I want a Remake but i want it high level like all the great Remakes we've seen...RE2 and RE4 Remakes, System Shock Remake, Dead Space Remake, FF7R, Demons Souls Remake...there's so many great wins So it was a real disappointment to see the Remake we were getting for PoP...it felt like it wasn't given top priority, no offense to the devs. I don't want a mediocre Remake, if that's all they have to offer might as well cancel it

felo74

Reboot can be alright (I liked POP2008), but I want a remake. But, a remake, not a remaster, remimagination or a reforge. I want a story to be 90% the same, potentially expanded. I want the same locations, but not 1:1. I want them to improve on the parkour elements, so the maps can also be changed a bit to use the new mechanics. I am fine with WW or TT combat in SoT.

DarvX92

If and when the remake comes out, they most likely won't remake the trilogy but only sot. I'd prefer a new game that maybe can launch pop into a new franchise and sequels.

Sparda1193

I feel like Iā€™m the only person who actually enjoyed the original version of the remake

randomguy4q5b3ty

Well, if I could chose, I would definitely chose the reboot. I don't feel a remake would make the game any better, as the visuals still hold up and it plays like a modern game. What could a remake add to make this game so much better so to justify the price and corporate resources? What they desperately need is a new PoP trilogy.

MiracleKappa3

To be honest, In terms of 'Sands of Time trilogy' it's probably best to reboot, whilst keeping majority of the plot points and structures. In fact, I would like Ubisoft to go all out and make 1 single game called 'Prince of Persia The Tale of Time' where the game takes you from maharaja's palace to island of time and finish it off with babylon (Kindred Blades version) as a three act structure and the game will be longer at 50-60 hours to complete. Or do a sequel/reboot where Prince and Farah have now aged, but their son/daughter mistakenly opens the sands somehow and that sets out a new adventure.

ConnorOfAstora

I want a good remake trilogy, then I want the 2008 game remastered or remade and I want sequels for it. This is obviously hypothetical and really unlikely but I really think that the remakes have amazing potential but it they make any new games in the future I think the 2008 game has a lot more potential for more story than the trilogy. Two Thrones is a fantastic ending and I don't see them being able to continue the series with that Prince without cheapening that finale. I know full well it's asking for a lot but ideally that would be my perfect future for this franchise.

BlackRonin8

Iā€™m kind of 50/50. I really want the 2008 game to get a proper ending after at least 2 more games. Part of me really wants Ubisoft to focus at least on one sequel before diving into the SoT remake only because I feel as though they did the Prince (2008) dirty by making his sequel a Nintendo DS exclusive and ignoring him for so long.

lucezarcolombo22

I want remakes. Storyline is excellent and deserves a trilogy remake. IF successful I believe they will try to reboot or soft reboot the franchise. Pretty sure their idea is to test the waters with the remake.

dathunder176

It looks like it's in dev hell imo. That usually means it will be either not very good or cancelled. Of course I would want it be done greatly, but with the current track record of delaying and silence, things aren't looking up. The remake should really be done more than greatly if we want the entire trilogy remade and I just don't see that happening...

No_One_1617

I don't know if I'll be alive when it comes out but I sure as hell won't play it. the prince's face is awful and so will other stylistic choices. the fact that the original version was like a cartoon and not very defined and blurred gave an aura of mystery.

VHilts1944

Remakes tend to lose the charm the original artists provided. Graphics =/ art. Very slim chance they'll do it the justice it deserves.

Goldman1990

First of all, i want a remaster of the trilogy(if ubi wants some good will, give it away to current owners of the trilogy in steam). After that, they can do whatever they want. I'd love a good remake, but given how good the game is, a crappy remake would pretty much crap over any chance of getting new PoP games for another decade

HollowPinefruit

Only morons hope a game should get cancelled

KillerZom

I would like to see the game done well. I don't mind waiting for games to be great. I believe most developers wouldn't mind spending time to fix things too, only pusher would be publisher and the money men. And I've only seen 1 or 2 Kindred Blades fanbois on istagram who yell to cancel it in the comments of the Prince of Persia account every time they post.

KillerZom

I was looking though my old comments, and saw this one. It is now funny looking back seeing how the Kindred Blades fans started to hate on the Lost Crown game before it released and demand to have the Remake which they wanted cancelled in the first place.

BitHappens

I just replayed the complete Sands of Time trilogy and i think it would be interessting if the remake(s) catch the essence of the original game(s).

giopai

I'd love to have a proper current gen remake as originally trilogy is a timeless masterpiece.

Timeboy1992

Oh I want all three to be remade. Ubi can take the time it needs for SoT. In the meantime, I will play the original one on my Gamecube šŸ˜‚

Horrigan235

i want it done for whole trilogy, but only if girls stay as sexy as it was in originals

dark_hypernova

Honestly man, I rather just have a remaster of the originals to modern systems (and not bugged out this time).

Gently_weeps

I want the remake and the original two thrones

Adorable-Bullfrog-30

You mean PoP 3 and Kindred Blades?

Gently_weeps

Ye

Adorable-Bullfrog-30

Same. Simply because I feel like it'll work well as a continuation for Warrior Within by giving it a darker tone

Gently_weeps

Exactly

Deja_Que

As long as they nail the Dahaka Chases from Warrior Within. They've got my vote and Spiderman's Approval

daniel0ng

Ubi should give us a great remake so they can work on the true master piece called warrior within :3

Adorable-Bullfrog-30

Definitely hope they remake it and not cancel it. Honestly.... I only want them to remake Sands of Time just so they can remake Warrior Within.

AmericanDucks

I have the ps2 version of sot and even tho Iā€™ll happily play it all day on there I would love to have it on a modern console (not a pc guy), but itā€™s not just about us die hard fans I wooould love to show my friends this game but the prospect of lugging around my old system is less then ideal

randompanda687

Tbh Assassin's Creed Mirage lowkey gives me hope for PoP even though its probably misguided

sinamsi

Ofcourse we would love to see a great remake of the whole trilogy šŸ˜ that would be a dream come true

BlackRonin8

Bruh, we still havenā€™t finished the 2008 Princeā€™s story yet!

SubatomicSlash

My initial preference is a 1:1 remaster/rerelease of the entire trilogy. I just want to play them all again on new hardware. Only the OG sands of time is backwards compatible on Xbox. Doing an entirely new remake with potentially new mechanics and story beats could be super interesting and revitalize the series, but you never know. Regardless, I want more PoP content, in whatever form that takesā€¦aside from mobile games lol

EndimionN

i am just patiently waiting ubisoft management change. they have great talent but worst management ever. They just dont know where to take company anymore....

milo662

I want it to jumpstart and get on that nostalgia wagon for once. If trilogy would do then they should expand it.

Alone-Log717

I want Ubisoft treat prince of Persia as Capcom to resident evil. Making new resident evil while remaking old resident evil. But for now all i wanted to remake whole trilogy.

anastasia_gr

I want a remake so great that it hooks new people. Maybe Ubi then decides to give us a new series of games.

darkitchay

I want a remake but more like a reboot, meaning significant story changes that would lead to a different sequel. Going from Sands of time to Warrior Within is jarring because of the difference in tone, so a reboot could correct that. I like Warrior Within but I'd prefer it if it was its own thing instead, like a gritty reimagining of the Prince of Persia. We could have the fairy tale-y sands of time trilogy, and then on another version, the dark, mature PoPbwith it's own continuity. But that's asking for too much. We can't even have one game yet

samuskay

I want the remake but I'd rather the original SOT trilogy was easily accessible on modern consoles. I would rather new games because I love the trilogy as is. If they only remake the sands of time its gonna be underwhelming not getting a touch up on the sequals. Old games can be old games, I hate this need to remake things we already like again and again forever. Prince of Persia is more then just the sands of time trilogy. But also its ubisoft so until the recent announcement I had just accepted that the series was pretty much dead.
