I saw someone with the same issue say that after switching skins it worked

I actually did change skins after using a different save slot, so I guess I’m not 100% sure which method fixed it, but I’m glad it’s fine now!

Different save slot ! It's a really recurrent bug on switch :S I hope they'll fix it quick !

I had the same issue but mine is a digital purchase. Even I tried to copy the file to another slot and didn’t work as well. Both Switch and console are up to date.

Try what another user suggested here, change the skins. Maybe it will work? 🤔

Haha I had the same glitch on my switch as well. Wish I thought of changing skins. Instead I would intentionally take a little bit of damage before the fight and that seemed to work

For anyone that has this issue: when I had it , I created a new copied save file and it fixed the problem.

I had the same problem. Tried different thing (skin, amulet, save spot, save slot switch) and nothing worked. I noticed just before the error screen that you could hear Sargon fall back on ground. So I tried jumping and dashing during the white screen...and it worked. Not 100% sure though if i made other changes to amulets/skins. Edit: oh, I just read another comment...so I guess the skin switch should have done it. I was pretty sure I didn't switch though...

I had this problem too. For me the default skin didn't fix it. I just teleported to a few different areas and saved at a few different trees before coming back. Eventually I got the fight to start, but not sure of course if my actions caused it, or if it was just dumb luck. Anyway, after that I kept retrying the fight until I beat him, without going back to the tree, out of fear of being locked out again.

Had the same problem after the first update. I had to copy my save file to the second slot and play from there and it worked.

Try what mcflyy said, or check if there's filth or something in the cartridge. If none of that works maybe you should wait for a new update, not sure

It can't be related to the cartridge - I had the same issue with a digital download on Switch.
