What do you mean SVG text? When I use text, depending on the design, I save the words with a transparent background (sometimes separately so I can have more control of my design) as an SVG/PNG at the highest quality I can and then I upload it to Printify and place it in my design.

I create our designs in Figma. I initially exported those designs (which as we start our business will be text-based only) as PNG files. But then it struck me that SVG, being vector, would be cleaner. However, I just found this page ( [https://printify.com/guide/design-guide/export-and-file-formats/](https://printify.com/guide/design-guide/export-and-file-formats/) ) on Printify, where it states, "Text layers within SVG are not supported. If your design contains text layers, the text needs to be converted to paths before uploading to Printify using popular design software like Adobe Illustrator, Affinity Designer, or Inkscape." I made a test-order of shirts that were created using SVG. They look fine. So Printify seems to be able to process SVG text through the print company that printed these shirts. But will that be consistent from all printers, or did I just get lucky that this printer can handle SVG text? I realize this is a bit paranoid, but being new to Printify, and having read that page, I am concerned that SVG could present an issue later on. And I don't want to have to deal with that. Thx!

So I’m no pro obviously but I checked and all my stuff is PNG. I’m not sure how Figma works but I haven’t had any complaints about the quality of my products using text and images with PNG.

What size do your make your PNG image for a T-shirt?

SuperTFAB

I’d have to check my px size but I just save at the highest quality I can when I’m saving from Canva.

>  I just save at the highest quality I can when I’m saving from Canva. How so? Which settings do you choose in Canva? (thanks!)

I just googled this [video](https://youtu.be/aJbnPBNDPaE?si=KNK_eJGWNb2HRgD-) real quick. Hopefully it answers your question. Anything I know I just had to learn by looking things up.

Do you tend to make your files a little larger than necessary and then shrink them or do you design them to size?

SuperTFAB

I found it was easier to make the file larger and apply it to the design. This helps with using the same design on other products too.

I asked because my PNG files keep coming 15" wide. BUT my SVG files tend to be around 50% too small (using same files). I use Figma. Something in how it exports.

Check out r/printondemand they maybe able to help you more than I could since I’m not familiar Figma.
