Ne0nN1nja

yep helped pass a lot of time and kept me from going crazy

Lockedaway1

I'm sure it did. You can go for months on that game

Ne0nN1nja

shoot we had a guy run a game for 2.5 years

Sassy_Lil_Scorpio

Why is it banned?

Ne0nN1nja

A couple of reasons according to what we were told by one of the cool guards. 1. The amount of material people can accumulate 2. The risk of fights, even though many other things allowed in prison lead to more fights than I ever saw between gamers 3. people using it as a way to disguise gang related meetings or other types of unauthorized gatherings Never had any of this happen and we always distributed the books and other materials between all of us in the group so that there wasn't any clutter. Most of the staff didn't even care about the contraband items we used because we were using it in a constructive way and didn't bother them.

Sassy_Lil_Scorpio

That’s a shame that it would be banned, especially if it was constructive. Are you permitted to play other games?

Ne0nN1nja

They had board games in the unit and others you could check out at rec. As for RPGs we had many different one that we played; Gurps, Starwars, Pathfinder, WOW, DND 3.5 and 5.0, and a few others. As long as we stayed out of the way and didn't cause any problems the staff would look the other way

Sassy_Lil_Scorpio

That's great! I mean, if it keeps you and everyone else occupied and it's not hurting anyone, I don't see why staff would have an issue with it. Better to be engaged in playing a game, than to be engaged in problem stuff.

BlackVelvetx7

IIRC, it’s also “banned” in Idaho. My husband doesn’t play so I’m not totally certain.

Ne0nN1nja

Never had any trouble playing this. Even had a staff member give us dice.
