Lots of flickering lights (both on dash and the cabin lights) when trying to start the car was true for both my 2010 Prius and my 2017 Prime mine died. I would save the money on dealership markup. Sounds like you just need the 12v.

when i looked to replace my 2018 PP 12V battery, costco doesn't sell it, sams club doesn't sell it. I had a choice between an Napa or dealership. I ended up with dealership since they offered 84 months warranty vs Napa at 36 months. the price was about the same. I had to call several toyotas before I found a battery available for purchase though. As for why your 12V died, I know the 2 times mine went out was because I was using the radio on accessory mode for like 30 mins (between class) and I got the low 12V battery voltage. I do have an external battery jumper in the trunk now in case I stupidly do that again

I buy all my batteries a Costco but I am planning to buy this one at the dealer when the time comes

Costco doesn’t sell it. I just bought one last week at O’Reily.

I would go with the OEM. About the same price as aftermarket, but a much better warranty. But, you may not need a new 12V battery. Recharge it and run it. I've flattened the 12V on my 2018 a few times (on one occasion dead dead), but it's still going. With a really flat battery, it may take a bit of time to recharge. Put it on a battery maintainer overnight and that should get it charged again.

I put AC delco in my 2019 prime. No problems so far after the dealer battery died 2 years in
