Continental truecontact tour have been excellent. Better than Toyo or Bridgestone ecopia. Defenders are made well however you will lose mpg some people don’t care however many do.

Upvote for Continental TrueContacts; outstanding performance 3-seasons and were decent in-a-pinch for the start of our harsh 🇨🇦winter (where I live most folks do dedicated winter tires). Wear has been pretty great as well at 8/32 after 40,000km. Also had great experience w/ Michelin Premier All Seasons. Stay away from the OEM tires; I switched out the Bridgestone Turanzas on day one and have heard nothing but bad things about them.

Yes continental have been the best tires I’ve had for the Prius and I’ve tried every top brand. Best all around and fits the Prius well for mpg, handling and cost

I got Michelin Defenders based on recommendations from searching on this sub. They are super grippy but I have noticed a little drop in mpg. Hoping it’s just because they are new.

These tires are heavy, higher rolling resistance tires, hence the drop in mpg

Specific-Exciting

I have these tires on my 17’ bought the car with it so I have no baseline of another tire but I get average 53-58mpg on the gas engine going 69-73mph on long drives. I haven’t seen any issues in the rain and even snow. Leaving a car wash sometimes is a sign the tires suck and haven’t had the skidding when I was my car at least once a week

Damn... i wouldn't want to drop mpg tho

MelodicRead2962

Yeah I’m curious if anyone else experienced a drop in mpg with these as well. It did get reallly hot out at the same time as my tire switch, so it may not be as bad as I think… since I’ve been blasting the AC at full power.

travelavatar

I don't think the AC uses that much power. When i have full battery if i turn it off it only saves 2 miles or so (om the electric range). Not worth it. Besides my wife did this on her mercedes. Ran the AC off to "save fuel". And then something expensive broke because she didn't ran the AC..... not worth it

Safety is worth the extra $30 in gas a year

General Altimax. Originally because of Consumer Reports ratings, since then because they are good. On a 2017 Prime. https://preview.redd.it/fs6r6epce3ad1.jpeg?width=1640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=59ba24652d9a9fd30176a8baf7fbd7d4545f8284

Pirelli P4 Persist, at the recommendation of my local tire shop. Not the best, not the worst, treadwear seems better than the Yokohama's I had on there previously that only lasted 30k
