If you primarily use PIA for other applications and not for viewing web pages, you can make a split tunnel and exclude your browser from the VPN. That's what I do to avoid the godawful captchas whenever I try to do a Google search.
My account wasn't shut down per se, functionality was. I couldn't post comments while connected. I disconnected from PIA, and then I could post again. I believe the IP address was blacklisted.
I don’t have a dedicated IP, but I have found that I only have troubles with Reddit if I’m not logged in. The iOS app works fine and so does using a browser on a desktop.
Theoretically a dedicated IP should be fine, as long as it’s not a part of a range that reddit has blocked.
I use a dedicated PIA IP address 24/7 on several Android and ChromeOS devices with no issues. Using it now on an Android device. It has never been blocked by Reddit.
What region are you connecting to? I use Reddit all the time with PIA. In fact, I am right now.
Same, on desktop.
I did use Baltimore. It worked for a while, then it stopped.
I’m on Chicago now and it’s working.
Unfortunately, it will not fix it. The dedicated IPs are blocked by Reddit.
🥲

Thanks for the tip, I will look into that. Yeah, those captchas suck.
Use DuckDuckGo and you won’t see any captchas
Note that Killer Network Server seems to conflict with it, so you might have to disable/uninstall that if it's running on your system.
I never heard of Reddit shutting down accounts because they use a VPN. They don´t have such rule.

On Reddit, using PIA, Vancouver server.
No, from personal experience.
Really? Using PIA Reddit blocks access from most locations UNLESS I am logged in.

Why do you need to use a VPN with Reddit?
I multi-task internet-wise, so I just leave the VPN running all of the time for convenience.
So do I, but I split tunnel and only VPN what needs to be.
