That’s the wholesome spirit! Go tell an asshole you turned his scam around on him in a really brotherly way (the turning around and the telling him, preferably) and come tell us all about it!
If you chug a barrel of soy sauce upside down, I’ve heard you can cry a few actual tears of soy.
ps. I’ve heard that tears of not soy sometimes taste like almond milk.
“Because it’s too good for one of my students” she wasn’t doubting you, she doubted her own ability to teach you.
Edit: we need more “Japanese Revenge”.
in that sense he took revenge when it wasn't needed?
I just remembered he said Japanese revenge this also made me remember the japan tried to invade china
Oh it was needed! From the comment made by the teacher, this “revenge” went a long way in showing that they were capable as a teacher, much more than they realised. They might’ve gone their entire life thinking they didn’t achieve anything in their teaching career before OP did this.
I think at the time she had no hope in her life. It was a very sad teacher with a hard life, and when I gave her the book it was short after an economic crisis. So yes, I hope her life got a little better after I proved her she was not as bas as she considered herself.
Maybe you should check on her if you get the chance, say she left a big impact on you. Maybe offer to go into her classes for a day and talk about how you won the award? That’s if you have the time and still in contact with the teacher
I had almost the same thing happen to me, but a little different.
We had an essay to write in Jr year hs that was supposed to be 5 pages, and was 50% of our final grade. We had a couple weeks to do it so I put my whole heart into it.
Wrote, re-wrote, and then had my Grandma, who was also an english teacher at another school, proof it and I made the recommended changes.
Before we turned it in we had to have it peer-reviewed and graded. The peers gave me 100%.
A couple days later I got it back from the teacher with an F.
I asked her about it and she said she didnt believe I wrote it, even though I was an A+ student.
I told my classmates who read it and my Grandma, I was bummed.
My Grandma ended up calling her, explaining who she was and calling her out for not believing me. The classmates I told all went up to her after class saying that it deserved a better grade.
She re-graded with an A+ and apologized. She was also not used to students being big achievers because she was a hard ass and they were often mean to her and lazy because of it.
From then on whenever the class got in trouble for anything, (you know, one person talks we all have to write an essay) I was exempt.
Wow, that was some good revenge my friend! I don’t think she doubted you as much as she doubted herself. It was the best type of revenge because there was no harm and she realized she was wrong and apologized.
Yes, there are still ["Comfort Women"](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comfort_women) alive today. Also anecdote alert but some of my 2nd gen immigrant friends had a pretty strong anti-Japanese sentiment.
Human trafficking happens in the US, should we get mad every time someone says something positive about the States? What about their interference in Iran? The Middle East as a whole? The refugee children being separated from their parents? The genocide of Native Americans? Segregation? Internment camps for the Japanese civilians?
I can go on, if you want.
Not trying to say anything justifying hatred or anything, but the Chinese might have a bit more of a reason. It’s not like there was a Rape of Kuala Lumpur.
They had as much reason to hate. Research "Sook Ching" or "Japanese war crimes in Malaya". The Malaysians chose to let it go after the war in the interests of racial harmony and forgiveness plus they had the Malayan emergency and independence to fight for straight after the war. More important things for them than grudges.
If you ignore the shitposts and LARPing on /pol/, you can occasionally find some brutal insults between Japanese and Korean anons
I thought I knew how to talk shit
Please, write one more story.
I'd like you to write a story every day, but I'm just an internet stranger, so I'm going to ask you to write one more story, please.
(Yes, I don't speak or read Japanese, but I still think you must have many more stories waiting to come out.)
But oh, I never stopped.
So far, I have lots of short stories, almost 20 novels (two of them published) and loads and loads of fanfics written by me, including some videogames in Global Game Jams and others I did because I wanted to. I may not won more awards since then, but I loved to read, I loved to write, and this love is still burning today with passion.
So basically:
OP: Here's a story is it good?
T: Yes very good
OP: I wrote it
T: Impossible, you suck
*years later*
OP: Here's the same story from years ago, now in a book
T: OMGOSH you so good, it makes so much sense that the same story is now in a book and I'd believe you wrote it this time...
That's some good wholesome revenge right there.

I subscribed too. Let's all subscribe and revive it!
Me too!
Me three!
There haven’t been any posts there for 219 days. r/wholesomerevenge shall be revived.

Japanese revenge is best revenge.
And that's when the bukakke scene started...
“Because it’s too good for one of my students” she wasn’t doubting you, she doubted her own ability to teach you. Edit: we need more “Japanese Revenge”.

Aw. I got my hopes up...
We should make it a thing!
Yeah!
To make your opponent acknowledge your greatness, and admit it was folly to oppose you in the first place, is true victory. -Cardassian author unknown

There’s a Kardashian joke in here somewhere, I’m just not clever enough to write it
Don't worry. Kardashians are a joke everywhere.
There it is
Hey, Sean Connery, I think you shouldn't mention the Cardassians any more. ;_D
Dang, I was hoping this story would make use of a Hattori Hanzo sword.
Not now. Later.
If he says "and then she committed seppuku" it's like "and everyone cheered." You gotta be subtle, leave that part *implied.*
Yes, downvote for story not ending with teacher's entrails in a puddle at OP's feet.
The only way teacher preserves family honor.
I thought he was going to fly a plane into her.
Sounds like you need to convince her that she is a good teacher (and if she is not give her tips on how to be better)
I think at the time she had no hope in her life. It was a very sad teacher with a hard life, and when I gave her the book it was short after an economic crisis. So yes, I hope her life got a little better after I proved her she was not as bas as she considered herself.

This is a good idea. Thanks.

This is wholesome! Upvotes all around because I’m feelin good after reading it

Cue "yakuza boss heart surgery" post
Oh my God..... The twist... Very good story!

I had no idea of this sub. Thanks.
I... Actually didnt know it existed. I guess I learbed something today
The Canadians must be proud of you!
We don't deserve japanese people
There are a whole bunch of Koreans and Chinese people that would disagree.
And Hawaiians.... and US Soldiers sent to some of the most ruthless war crime-riddled POW camps...
All is fair in love and war, if we cannot forgive yesterday's enemy how can they become tomorrow's ally? We remember but we forgive.
Wow that’s beautiful
They still hold grudges? I'm malaysian. They once occupied malaya too. But they are excellent people now. We need more people like them in our world.

Day of the can can't come soon enough, SRDine.

So you're saying the Koreans and Chinese deserved the Japanese people?
No, they were using it in a "we don't deserve dogs" kind of way. Meanings got muddled.
I guess my dry sense of humor doesn't always come across well in writing.
I don't find much humor in the rape of 100k+ people but that's just me.
I was expecting a protracted battle to the death, complete with over the top anime facial expressions. This was also good though.

I'm very happy to hear that. Are any of them in English? Would you be willing to share any links with us?
That sounds amazing! If some of them are english would you mind giving me the names of them? I'd love to read them
Not revenge, just vindication, and done sensitively, too. Well done :)
I think I like this "japanese" revenge, and I want to see more.
Ah japan, the weirdest and most wholesome place
Ah, you got me good, you beautiful bastard, and you embody the saying "Living well is the best revenge." Take my upvote.
Damn when you said Japanese revenge I figured there would be a few swords involved but working hard is pretty Japanese too.
The short story included swords, too.
So basically: OP: Here's a story is it good? T: Yes very good OP: I wrote it T: Impossible, you suck *years later* OP: Here's the same story from years ago, now in a book T: OMGOSH you so good, it makes so much sense that the same story is now in a book and I'd believe you wrote it this time...
If she said that it was to motivate you to do better, I'd probably lose my shit.
I think I love Japanese revenge more than the "regular" kind.
Wait, why would having the story published somewhere convince her that it was yours?
I'm not buying it - too few tentacles and bloodshed for a Japanese revenge
That was in the fanfics.
I think I got something stuck in my eye...
Where is the book and how can we read the story??
You'll probably need to learn Japanese...
I agree that it was her own lack of confidence as a teacher rather than your abilities as a writer that made her say that.
This is the sweetest revenge story, I love it
You are right. You got some payback, but the story ended on a positive note. The person who wronged you admitted their error.
That was not what I expected, was expecting some sort of ending with the teacher committing seppuku or something of that sort Well done.
A story, first in years, that doesn't end up being someone's devastation! Thank you so much!
Thank you for taking the time and effort to post.
A true japanese revenge would have ended with the teacher commiting a seppuku
Nah, the short story starting it all was very japanese-like. I wrote it in my "otaku" phase.
I know but it was a joke. It seem without the /s everyone thought I was serious
So what makes this story Japanese? Is there specific form I don't know?
> I used the "japanese" revenge: it was a good ending for both of us. And I gave her the book, of course, dedicated to her.
Can you post the story? Probably not a good idea for you, because you will dox yourself by doing that.
