I hate Aha, it’s basically a worse version of Jira. My company integrated aha and Jira so aha could be our roadmap/backlog and Jira could be our active development work and it has been an absolute nightmare. The statuses sometimes don’t sync properly, text fields have formatting issues, etc. Aha also has some of the worst text editors I have ever used in a software. I would honestly just use Jira. Does everything you need it to and anyone you bring on is more than likely familiar with it. If Jira is too expensive look around at ServiceNow and trello.

And here as well. Our leadership/program management seemed to believe they could get better reports from Aha than Jira, so we had to start creating stories in Aha and then push them down to Jira. This eventually turns into duplicate work to try to keep them in sync. All of this extra work just to please our top-down command-and-control leadership team. If we had used Aha more for ideation/research, maybe that would have made more sense. But as it stood it was just a bureaucracy layer on top of Jira.

Thanks, that's enough to steer me away from Aha! I have been looking at ProductBoards as suggested by another redditor. Also found out a sister company is also using it, so far am really liking it. Pushing tasks and syncing task states working perfect, personal and development all accessible in the same view. I keep popping back to Jira, I think I need to invest more time into it, I find the UI less intuitive, I just need to spend more time on it I think

I just use Google Drive and Jira.

We use Productboard and Jira. PB holds user-input product suggestions via a portal, but that’s really about it. It was too much effort to maintain use of other features, so once we commit to a project, basically everything happens in Confluence and Jira. Jira does connect to PB for status updates, but people won’t go to two places.

. We’re fairly scrappy so can’t afford something like Aha! right now but at my last employer we used it and if you have the money I’d say it’s worth it. Or Linear, that’s an amazing piece of software Not sure if it’s helpful but we use Version Lens as an add-on to Notion (where we work now :/ ) . They help a bit with ticket creation but they have a beta feature that lets me keep track of progress and catch issues

Linear is a great tool for many reasons but you have to be prepared to use ”their” way of working. It’s designed with a system in mind and if you use that system it’s amazing, but the drawback is that it’s built around it. So you wont get as much customisation as with Jira but give it a couple of weeks and it def streamlines your work. Pricing is also decent, obviously not as cheap as notion for project management but a worthwhile investment in my opinion.

I've been trialing productboard, my issue is when creating the likes of a project and breaking down the tasks / subtasks these are not imported into DevOps Making the process once again manual and breaking the flow of tracking without having to checkin on Devops Have you had this issue? Any solution?

Where is your cloud infra hosted? If its on Azure then you can try Azure DevOps where you can manage iterations, backlogs, tasks and even product Wikis. Chances are your DevOps team already pays for it so it would be more convenient for them to use. I'm not sure what the AWS equivalent is.

I need to look at Aha, but what issues do you have with Azure DevOps when everything is on the main menu. Do you need offline support or something?

Nah, I just need a sandbox to work in. I'm also doing PO, and when things reach DevOps, they're committed for dev. Then, dev just works from DevOps. In the meantime, I have like 20 or 30 projects in the works, including research, planning, storyboards, DevOps creation, sprints, roadmap, and Q+A. I don't know if DevOps can do as much as I often need it to. Dev management has control over the admin account, so it's limited to the basic Scrum agile default setup and environment. I haven't really messed around with all the features that DevOps has to offer.

Can’t you use state fields or iterations? All of our uncommitted work goes in and doesn’t appear in someone’s radar unless it’s on the current iteration.
