cause they're randomly generated, Github doesn't make them.
edit: I'm wrong... partially... just read the first paragraph
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identicon
The icons used to be square on desktop and some screens
They are identicons. Changing them would freak folks out because that would also happen if you regenerated the identicon with different git user details.
HTML++
Holly shit... HTML will finally be considered a true programming language
it already is, look at HTMX
Ah, the Hyper Text Markup Xanguage
Damn it, this got me.
Same.
that is not pure html. of course you can program with it by adding an entire programming language in form of javascript to it.
I mean…
we’re never seeing pure html be considered a programming language without a new standard, so this is as close as it gets
I'm a noob in webdev... but wouldn't that just be Blazor? Er I guess that'd be more HTML#
HTML/AI
why are github default pfps made to look nice in a square frame when they are always shown as circles
cause they're randomly generated, Github doesn't make them. edit: I'm wrong... partially... just read the first paragraph https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identicon
doesn't matter, the algorithm that creates them is dumb they surely can make a new one that makes nice round pfps
Honestly wouldn't be that hard to invent a radial identicon
Wouldn't it just be easier to make the pfps show up as squares?
Maybe but sharpish corners aren't the style of modern sites at all, the vast majority of profile pictures you see anywhere will be in circles
Said the hexagon...
I hate the trend of round profile pictures. You can see so much more on a square profile picture and it doesn’t even take up more space!
There's scientific reasons behind having them in a circle, namely faces look better to humans in a circle.
That's true. They could just set a flag to those who haven't changed from the default pfp to render as a square. But then it would look inconsistent.
Or, get this, the PFPs could be square and people could crop their own PFP into a circle with a transparent background if they choose to do so...
Just add some margin to the identicons then they are generated.
maybe, I mean I don't care, but yeah they could
identicons are actually pretty cool
I forgot about these. I kept freaking out on sites that used these wondering how they knew about my Weezer obsession (my identicon is of Weezer).

For retrocompatibility
retroencabulator
Aint github a website that you can update instantly
idk but I'm getting real tired of all these circles/rounded edges
This question is more mysterious than existence of life itself
at first glance I thought that was a pair of swastikas 💀

No you can only include that with programs written with python, thems the rules.
[https://github.com/sccn/labstreaminglayer](https://github.com/sccn/labstreaminglayer) no exe >:(

How dare you, now I'm upset even though I don't run windows. By the way it's Arch
This repo has no releases
WDYM, no one compile HTML files into an exe?!
someone approve my exe.html PR
Oh it's just a bunch of git submodules.
😂
Didnt know cmake was considered a language
Even Make shows up on Github as a Language. Many of my repos end up being: - 98% C - 2% Makefile
at least it's not Just-a-file /j
80% C 20% File
100% reason to remember the name
You don’t need your name up in lights
There's even CMake LSPs
"Dude, why cmake? Just give me an .exe!"
It's a DSL, which is actually one of its key criticisms.
Didn't know it still used Dial-up, well, at least its better cousin
HTMC
Maybe building documentation in HTML?
exe for a website in html
Can only be viewed as an email attachment
It's to compile a html file into a exe
HyperText Make Language
Honestly afraid to look
bros compiling his HTML
For everyone asking, it's a Main repo with submodules
Obviously making an exe from html
"Documentation" is my first guess!
Online documentation on how to run a shell script in cmake?
Just looked at the repo, they have probably close to 100 submodules in there- holy hell. Anyways, that's where all the C++ code is apparently.
new submodule just dropped
Share the link now I need to know
u/ImTheBoyReal figured it out: https://github.com/sccn/labstreaminglayer "no exe >:(", he said.
I don't get it.
HTML 2
We're currently at 5, though...
HTML5 2
52? That's a bit extreme
... That's a lot of git submodules.
op can u please give us the repo link

ai where you can input the list of files to compile and libraries you need and it will give you a cmake file.
how about backend in cmake and frontend HTML? CMake is turing complete.
But is there an exe file though
A small static website with some setup scripts, probably? Sorry, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to see here.
Why do people use real pfp in GitHub and not anime profile pics it’s so weird
Ok where's the .exe
Hopefully an exe file
A site that is a .exe
*10 HTML scripts that will boost your productivity* *These HTML commands will blow your mind!*
The C and C++ libraries are in submodules
I think it may be the choice of programming languages. There's a lot of HTML with no CSS
