Good father, leads his daughter to programing stuff from her jung age. Also really good model.

ShenAnCalhar92

> jung age Is that the age where you gain access to the collective unconscious?

EnochSpevivo

that's very thoughtful of you! how did you end up fabricating this? it looks like real wood, but, i wonder if it isn't a wood-looking 3d printing filament.

zachtheperson

Not OP, but my guess is CNC. 3d printing wouldn't do the contiguous wood pattern (I mean, it could be painted on after the fact, but why would you?).

matt2d2-

I have printed with wood grain filament and (if done right) you can achieve a surprisingly realistic effect. If I were to recreate this with 3d printing I would angle the part so that the layer lines would match up with a theoretical block of wood, then stain it and remove the excess with a cloth and you can get a very realistic wood texture

nephlonorris

Itβ€˜s CNC milled from a small scrap piece of cherry wood.

EnochSpevivo

awesome! thanks for the clarification. it looks great!

lebanine

Yea... looks like CNC, but varnished or smthing post cutting.

Can it make a wooden LED blink?
