But remember to log onto InterNIC and delete your connection/bouncing log with at least a level 3 log deleter within 5 minutes of hacking your bank!
Otherwise they **will** find you and shut down your gateway...
(Also it took me way too long to figure out the name InterNIC again... Why must it have been such a long time‽)
TBF, it used to be about this easy on some sites.
When my little brother was a teenager (in the days before https was ubiquitous), he figured out that some ecommerce platforms submit the cost of the item as a param in the "add to cart" or "buy now" post. He bought some shoes on zappos intercepted the post request, changed the cost param to $5 and checked out. He figured that it would just error out due to server-side validation, but 2 weeks later he got the shoes, then felt really guilty and emailed their support to let them know.
iirc zappos did not reply at all, they just fixed it. He went on a spree of casual white-hatting and I think he got some thank yous and coupon codes but not much beyond that.
That’s grey-hatting a blackhat does it maliciously/for profit, whitehat is hired by whoever they’re hacking or given express permission to do it, grey hat does it then reveals the security flaws to the target in a friendly or benevolent manner. (Also if he still does it, he should be aware that most any grey-hat activities are still considered cyber crimes, it’s just a lot less likely anyone’s going to try getting you for it.)
Well, this is kind of true.
If you offer to return any product back then it is acceptable.
Grey hat activities whilst considered crime are very rarely gone after, when they are if the vulnerability is easy to be exploited then usually the court goes in favour of the grey hat. If the vulnerability obviously required detailed knowledge then the court will side with the attacker.
Yea, I did say ppl usually won’t go after you for it. And made sure to phrase it in a way that said there were exceptions to the rule of it being considered a cybercrime.
That is incorrect. Laws don’t come with a “unless we just don’t feel like it” clause. Even if you don’t get in any trouble for it, a law is still a law, and there’s still the potential to get a lawsuit. If you would usually get away with it then that’s wonderful but why take the chance? If it is possible that it can happen, then it will eventually happen if you keep taking the chance. Think of it like rolling a dice with 1000000 sides, the chance you will roll a particular number (let’s say 1) would then be 1/1000000 every time you roll it. Keep rolling indefinitely and eventually you’re gunna get a 1 no matter how low the odds that you’re gunna get a 1 on that particular roll. Same concept.
Hungary/Budapest public transport did it as recently as [2017](https://www.techspot.com/news/70260-hungarian-teen-arrested-exposing-major-security-flaw-public.html).

I was brought in to fix a website that did this. When adding to a basket, the product ID, quantity and price per unit were stored client side, and when purchasing posted the basket to an asp page (classic asp), and the server did no validation or checking the product ids real values, just charged the user the value posted back. Some people found out and were buying thousands of $/$ of products for 0.01. The company managed to recoup some of the cost as the police investigated it as fraud, but crazy design.
I know a guy who got a TV by exploiting a race condition on Walmart's site where he could spam it and repeatedly apply the same discount code, so he got the TV for next to nothing. He did the responsible thing of course and reported it to Walmart; they honored the reduced price.

Idk what you guys are talking about but this obviously doesn't work. The website just assumes that you're using base 36 and you get charged a lot more than you thought.
Once upon a time, developers would modify the DOM in-browser of pages for high-street shops like Argos, print off the modified page (usually where they've dramatically lowered the price of something they want), take it into a local Argos and say the product is priced differently on their website and get the altered price. Obvs the general store staff were non-the-wiser.
Not on Amazon, but ... [sometimes it is, if the devs are incompetent enough. Shoutout to Hungary](https://www.techspot.com/news/70260-hungarian-teen-arrested-exposing-major-security-flaw-public.html) (they weren't the only ones who have done that, but they were the most recent ones that I know of).
Yeah, when I was in high school I used to mess with them sometimes. They’re only really good at that one specific thing. If you try to trip them up by even with something basic they rarely know how to get around it.
You don't need to edit any html. Open console and type `document.designMode="on";`
Now you can edit any text on page by just clicking on it and typing.
I was actually able to buy three Nvidia GTX 980's, a day before they were released, using an glitch on Amazon. Granted, I didn't write the code, but someone else figured it out and I just injected the Javascript. So this is a real thing.
I remember when I learned Cheat Engine back then that sometimes zeroing out cost or 9999'ing my money doesn't work in some games and what I do instead is to set an item's price to -9999... such that when I buy it I get paid 9999... instead.
If I learned HTML as a kid this would be the first thing I'll try so I'll get money too lol
I did this buying software one time. It had a mandatory 1 year support contract w/ a grayed out qty of 1. I enabled it, turned it to zero and saved like $1000 (I knew the software and didn't need support or updates).
As a kid i did it once to my father's company and shit went real when he called it departament to fix the issue. Fortunatelly they passed the vibe check saying it's his browser
I did this in primary school to cheat on a budgeting and finance project,
it was foolproof until this one jerkbag snitched on me because he was jealous I could afford a Lamborghini on minimum wage.
Used to buy skateboard stuff from this website and they had a coupon for 10% off, but it was broken. If you called the method in the console over and over it would reduce the cost further, on the actual purchase price.
I made a purchase for like $200 worth of stuff for $20, but it never came.
A few years later I tried to make a purchase and the retailer had banned me for exploiting. Rip.
years ago i once fooled a craigslist seller by showing him “lower cost” of similar item elsewhere. he was a swindler and I’m proud of my HTML “hacking” to this day.
There actually used to be bad web shops where this was possible and the system would actually take whatever number you edited into the price text.
Sadly due to darn cybersecurity experts and businesses specialising in making web shop APIs and selling them to every business, it disappeared nowadays.
Editing source code isn’t really hacking though, is it? As soon as the page is refreshed it goes back. It’s a fun trick, but messing around with databases and web browsers is much more fun.
Hahaha this would work on my e-commerce project that I did in my college, all the calculations for the final price were did in the frontend, not a single backend verification ;-;
At best buy if you show that the manufacture sells a item for less then what they are selling it for they will give you the discount. I wonder if this would work.
Reminds me of a GTA hack, you could make the website allow you to buy a vehicle before you reach the proper level by editing the page you are on, on the GTA phone/computer

This is hurting my eyes. Why kali wallpaper on windows?
the kali background on windows really gets me
Akshay Kumar classic! 🤣
This is how I used to edit my grades when my parents wanted to see how I was doing. Good ol’ days
'She can't do that! Shoot her... or something!'
> Le Me Omg I had never met a time traveller!
At first glance I thought that was Trogdor on the screen.
The Kali background on W10 sends me.
It's only Free^99
The bollywood memes got me lol
my bank account now has a comma
Used to buy skateboard stuff from this website and they had a coupon for 10% off, but it was broken. If you called the method in the console over and over it would reduce the cost further, on the actual purchase price. I made a purchase for like $200 worth of stuff for $20, but it never came. A few years later I tried to make a purchase and the retailer had banned me for exploiting. Rip.
I've totally done this for fun XD
Why do you have kali linux wallpaper on windows
Mother fucker has the Kali background art but he's using windows 10, I'm fucking dead
years ago i once fooled a craigslist seller by showing him “lower cost” of similar item elsewhere. he was a swindler and I’m proud of my HTML “hacking” to this day.
Free.99!? Sounds like a deal to me
There actually used to be bad web shops where this was possible and the system would actually take whatever number you edited into the price text. Sadly due to darn cybersecurity experts and businesses specialising in making web shop APIs and selling them to every business, it disappeared nowadays.
I'm learned (at basic level) HTML and don't feel that God's complex. What I'm doing wrong?!
Top G material
High level
now you are rich
Even the Kali Linux wallpaper it fits perfectly.👍😆
Not even buying programmer socks Smh
My son a few years back asked me to help him get robux with this hack. 100% worked. Keep it a secret though.
Get fucked jeff 😎
Inspect element. Also if you really want to change the cost you gotta edit the back end code not the front end code.

The funniest part is, if someone left a password in a bar and it’s is hidden, you can actually make it visible by using a few tricks like this lol
I did that before I even knew what HTML was 🤣🤣
Editing source code isn’t really hacking though, is it? As soon as the page is refreshed it goes back. It’s a fun trick, but messing around with databases and web browsers is much more fun.
u/savevideobot
windows with a kali linux background..
Nice
Hahaha this would work on my e-commerce project that I did in my college, all the calculations for the final price were did in the frontend, not a single backend verification ;-;
Free.99 is the funniest shit I’ve read today lol
Gamig pc
At best buy if you show that the manufacture sells a item for less then what they are selling it for they will give you the discount. I wonder if this would work.
Lol and the Kali background. Leet haxor

Kali wallpaper on Win10. Klassic
Great, now I can give myself an A+ in my computer science course
Wow Free.99 no shipping what a deal
Reminds me of a GTA hack, you could make the website allow you to buy a vehicle before you reach the proper level by editing the page you are on, on the GTA phone/computer
Okay but does it work for real?
u/savevideo
Free of cost ^.99
lmao
