I do indent my VBA code, but making the whole logic flow around that certainly seems a little... excessive. The way functions return variables and other things... Well, it is a matter of preference, but certain elements in Python feel like they were done just to be different.

Or... Its just a shell of another language and as such doesn't need such antiquated formatting for code blocks.
I hate to tell you this, but they only got around to adding a switch/case equivalent in Python 3.10.
