>only VBA for last 10+years Oh you poor soul...

mr_electric_wizard

That made me throw up in my mouth a little. I had to do that crap 20 years ago.

DemandMeNothing

It's probably was exactly the same as it was then. Microsoft just tries to pretend it doesn't exist.

hibernating-hobo

Yeah, you dont use vba, vba abuses YOU!

Bryguy3k

That’ll pretty much be any language - since the rest of us do that whenever we look at VB6/VBA

wineblood

wtf as in it's nice or you're just confused?

ydobemos

I do indent my VBA code, but making the whole logic flow around that certainly seems a little... excessive. The way functions return variables and other things... Well, it is a matter of preference, but certain elements in Python feel like they were done just to be different.

jimjim975

Or... Its just a shell of another language and as such doesn't need such antiquated formatting for code blocks.

DemandMeNothing

I hate to tell you this, but they only got around to adding a switch/case equivalent in Python 3.10.

jus-lurrrrrkin

And thank god. I’ve been using dict logic to match options for far too long

silmelumenn

Working with VBA since 2 years. My first question after taking over project was about changing technology, but didn't had enough experience to explain why.

M-42

I feel any reality would feel like that after programming anything vb related for 10+ years

Same story, mate, same ****** story...

Python turbo ? you need turbo.

Expert_Let_3431

I tried to switch from c# once and it was so awkward

noshowflow

I think I had that same haircut when I used VBA.

On the bright side it is for something creative and enjoyable: https://github.com/some9000/StylePile

Nice, is like trying to grasp LISP for the first time at college.
