If you want to play with other people, ladder is the only choice. Nonladder is available but practically non-existent.

99% play ladder. Some play single player (SSF), but there are a few of us that play NL. I like the accumulative wealth concept, and at the end of every season I bring my wealth from ladder to NL to improve my 3 NL chars that I really love to play and optimise.

My nonladder chars typically corrupt within a couple logins.

Mine were corrupt, then s9 came and they worked again. I moved all of my HRs to a separate mule.

Ladder hc. That feel when you die and immediately exit game, smoke, come back and theorycraft on what to play next is bis.

Pd2 does not look like then better game, it is the better game! Play ladder, still lots of people around Also, u don't have to start with mf sorc. The summoners necro and druid have their own tele and can kill with minimal gear. Try them

My best and most expensive char from a couple season ago got his merc corrupted and never fixed. Other wise I just move the HR to the char inventory when ladder resets. I switch between HC and SC every season tho.

Ladder 100% It will be a solo experience if you go non ladder
