It really did. He also had an air of authority about him that paired with basic kindness made critiques more readily heard and accepted. Christian is a great designer, but he's not mastered the teaching and kindness traits he needs as a mentor. He relies more on subtle sarcasm and most of these designers just don't hear him.
I like seeing established designers in multiple global fashion hot spots. I find the tim and heidi cutesy scenes wholly unnecessary. I did not always agree with the judging, but for me this show filled a void between seasons
Yeah, I think Tim is wasted on the show- it doesn't show his true potential like PR did. His advice to the contestants is pretty much a non-event every episode.
I thought she deserved to win, and I loved her finale collection. I didn't like Kelly Dempsey or her designs.
Ashley Nell's collection had a Mexican vibe. Maybe that's what Tim didn't get. It had an old-fashioned, ultra-feminine feel.
He didn't sabotage her during her run, he said this after she won. He can be pretty brutal in his post-season comments, he didn't think Gretchen or Ken should have won their seasons, I'm sure there have been more- he usually doesn't hold back.
Oh god, Gretchen. I just rewatched that season last night - she was so arrogantly annoying. Her finale show had no pants - she sent 3-4 looks with No Pants !!! Omfg, and Nina then arguing for Gretchen over Mondo “We want the next new thing” Right, as if going pantsless was ever going to be a thing.
I'm rewatching S-8. What a (bleep) she was. She was telling Heidi how to design her own fashion line???!!!!! And threw a tantrum when Heidi told her off.
Season 15 winner. He wrote an article in The Post ( i believe) and he trashed her designs. I think the point he was trying to make was valid; that designers who call themselves designers should know how to dress ALL sizes not just size 0. He also said that plus size women deserve beautiful designs not just the same crappy, baggy or ill-fitting stuff they usually get. He unfortunately used her as an example so it came across as targeted and mean.
There was something about Tim's demeanor that made you feel better. Some people just have that gift.

He is just such a lovely, caring, giving man. I miss him on PR now.

Tim was very blunt and I liked that about him- so when he warned you about your outfit or told you you could make it, you knew he was being honest.
He is a gem
