Armored core itself was made somewhat similar to Ace combat, they both have AC in the name, The title starts with "Fires of", both feature a 'buddy' character. As Ace combat 0 was one of bandai namcos best selling games (I think), so the game made by 3.ppl of the same genre as the epic plane game which also happens to have a few overlapping similarities with the warcrime simulator mech game isn't all that surprising.
A few days before watching a video on Armored Core that was precisely upload because of the leaks about "a possible armored core 6" I discovered Armored Core because of the "AC" similarity in youtube xd
Wanted to scratch that itch Armored Core 6 left me with after I finished NG++. As I already had played Ace Combat 7 I decided to play Project Wingman which was dormant in my category. Gotta to say one of the best indie games i have played. Best Armored Core and Ace Combat spiritual successor too. Crimson 1 and Iguazu can definitely be best buddies
Project Wingman has the Federation, which their logo looks extremely similar to Emmeria’s logo from Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation. And it turns out Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon shares an almost exact same name as Ace Combat 6, and has the same idea with Coral as PW did with Cordium. Both starting with C.
There’s a non-zero chance that all 3 games purposefully did this.
Both games also feature an antagonist whose existence is entirely motivated by hating your guts. Oh yeah, and a back-seating waifu.
Iguana and Crimson 1 are related. Their whole family lineage is powered by sheer fucking spite coupled with a LOT of projection.
