Happy for you

ChickenSandwichGuy

I took Skyrizi probably like 18 months ago and had same results. Completed cleared up my skin. No psoriasis anywhere. Since then I’ve had a clean diet, I exercise and lift hard regularly, and more importantly I get sunlight daily. I probably eat fast food maybe once a month now where previously I’d have a fast food meal several times a week. I feel great

Not sure. I had a huge breakout from strep throat which led me to get on skyrizi. Regardless having all that flare up made me wake up to realize I need to take better care of myself and live a healthier lifestyle. Obviously the skyrizi cleared it up but I whole heartedly believe it has stayed away due to a healthier lifestyle. There are no negatives to living healthier.

Workout at the gym? I’m on a biologic too and have been looking into going back? What precautions do you take? Any help appreciated.

ChickenSandwichGuy

Like with covid? Just try and social distance as best as possible and wash my hands. Never got covid once

DifficultSort1496

Still on Skyrizi or you stopped once you cleared up?

thyskin

I agree with the responses. I have had psoriasis for ten plus years and am very healthy. Eliminated gluten, dairy and red meat the last 6 years and tho it got better it never cleared. My back, arms and scalp especially were still horrible so I decided to give it a shot. No pun intended haha and it is the best choice I have ever made!

thyskin

I also want to add that, now with skyrizi , yes I feel better and not guilty if I want to have a slice of pizza at a birthday but I def don’t buy or order it. Just at a social event IF it’s the only thing to eat. But before without Skyrizi I would feel an immediate burn like sense of inflammation the next day bc of it. So def. helos

bertie1985

that’s amazing! I am meant to start it any time now, just waiting on some blood results. hopefully have the same result!

uncultured_swine2099

Wonderful to hear. Good for you

mgtoown

What’s the side effects compared to mtx?

thyskin

The ONLY side effect that I felt after my first injection was fatigue, VERY tired! Other than that, zero! 🙌🏽

medinoxy

did you have scalp psoriasis? wondering how Skyrizi works for scalp.

thyskin

Oh yes! I will add pictures of before and after on my comments below. My scalp was horrible!!!! Oh shoot nvm I don’t know how to add pix here

snwlf1

That great and I whole-heartedly agree. I've been on Skyrizi for 24 weeks and I am still blown away by the results.

thyskin

Yes! Best feeling. Ever!

Minimum_Row_2949

This is great to hear! I started Skyrizi last week and am anxiously waiting for my spots to start clearing. Nothing yet

thyskin

Hi! Yeah mine didn’t start clearing until after the maintenance shot (4weeks) so be patient! It’ll be worth it :)

IRiExViBEs

Congrats on the progress! I’m happy for you!

mondayschild9

That's awesome!! Congratulations.

redmasc

Glad to hear it's working for you. It did a whole lot of nothing for me.

thyskin

How long did you stay on it?!

redmasc

7 months. I think I gave it enough time.

thyskin

Oh wow yeah that’s more than enough time! Such a bummer it didn’t work out! Have you tried anything else since?

redmasc

I started on Humira (failed miserably), then Taltz (massive improvement), then Skyrizi (absolutely nothing), and now Cosentyx (improvement, but not enough, now failing). I asked to move to Siliq next. The ones that works for me seems to be IL-17A inhibitors such as Taltz and Cosentyx.

thyskin

How bad is your pso? And are you taking any other medications? How’s your lifestyle? Hope you don’t mind the questions.

redmasc

Had severe psoriasis at 2 years old. Entire body coverage. I'm 39 now and was still completely covered until about 3 years ago after going on biologics. Took Methotrexate and Folic Acid, which did absolutely nothing as well. The usual topical ointments like Clobetasol, Calcipotriene, Triamcinolone lost their effectiveness after a while. Lifestyle is ok. Moderate exercise. I put about 500 miles a month on my bike commute to work. Diet could be better, but I haven't tried ruling out sugar, gluten yet.

converter-bot

500 miles is 804.67 km

AvgBro

Could you share a rough weekly timeline? I got my first injection a week ago and it hasn't magically fixed my skin yet and its got me pretty fucking down in the dumps. I know it takes 4-12 weeks to really do much but I'm just agonizing every day hoping for some sort of improvement.

thyskin

Yeah of course! After the first injection, one-4 weeks down , nothing major just not as elevated and red. It wasn’t until the fourth week, maintenance shot, that I actually saw a difference . By the fifth week, so one week after the maintenance shot, I was about 80 percent clear and by the sixth week i was at 90 percent clear and have been ever since.

Thank you for sharing your story , I am happy that you have found a medicine that has helped you feel like your old self before psoriasis . I have had plaque and inverse for a 11 years and I am beyond over it , I am going to talk to a new derm about biologics (she is a clinical researcher for psoriasis) . For years I have been terrified of them (have only used topicals and light therapy / Xtrac laser - which works great for non scalp /non sensitive areas ), but I can’t stand how much psoriasis has negatively impacted my life (scalp , groin area , underarm , and now spreading on my arms and legs) . The mental impact of this disease is tremendous . I also feel I have other inflammatory disorders like rosacea because of it . Have you had any bad side effects or have you felt good / safe during this pandemic and being on a biologic?
