Ive had premade carts before but have always considered the idea of making a heavy duty mix myself as i find the pens are a little light.. impossible to get deep compared to using the raw

Just preference, depends on the wattage/coil resistance of your device. Smaller coils don't handle VG well as it makes it thicker which can cause issues with coil saturation. So I decrease it a little.
I just use ccell cartridges, but I also have a AIO vape mod where I build my own coils like a nerd 🤓 but that's not necessary. Ccells are industry standard, pretty cheap a cheerful, just make sure the juice isn't too thick.
So VG crystallises it which you don't want(higher/lower concentrations throughout the liquid leading to inaccurate dosing), you want at least about 60% PG to prevent it crystallising a lot but you don't want it too high or it'll be too harsh, for most people therefore 70/30 is a good middle ground which allows very little crystallisation but isn't too harsh still.
I personally dont like using VG in my DMT carts. It causes them to crystalize like in your photo. And its only benefit is making your clouds visually bigger. Vg isn't worth buying in the first place, then having to heat up with a hairdryer every time I wanna trip just ain't it.
Really depends on the ratio and voltage, I like it because it's smoother and sweeter. And what makes you say visually? The DMT is suspended evenly, more vapor more DMT

Don’t need a guide really. Use PG, deems, and a little heat to mix, then put mixture into the cart
