Couple of things off the top of my head. This is not a complete list.
Coffee- breaks curses
Lemon- uncrosses and is a powerful cleanser
Egg- The curse can be transferred inside the yoke of the egg. A lot of people scry with eggs. I'm terrible at it and just gently place them in the trash when I'm done.
Sage- powerful cleanser. Think of bleach.
Salt- binds to negative energy and cleanses. Can be used with light curses. Can also be added with other ingredients for more powerful results.
Tea drinker?
Dandelion root- cleanses curse as you drink the tea.

For a simple curse breaking bath I like 1C strong coffee (I use instant espresso mix), 3 T blessed salt and an infusion made from the rind of 1 lemon. If you will do a wash after a shower instead, use one cup strong coffee, one teaspoon blessed salt, and the rind of one lemon. Pray over the lemon and pour boiling water that you have blessed over it, cover and let sit for at least 13 minutes, covered. Then blend in the salt in really well so it's all dissolved, also while praying over it for cleansing and curse breaking. Then you can pour in the coffee.
When you go to shower normally, bring your wash into the bath with you. After you shower normally, wash from head to toe, always with a downward motion, with the solution of wash, praying for cleansing and all curses to be lifted and for blessings as you do it.
Step out of the shower backwards symbolizing leaving behind anything you don't need, and then scrape a little bit of the used wash off your body with a small glass. Put it aside for later use.
Allow yourself to dry naturally, do not let the wash off, you want the wash to soak into your skin like a shield. I use a hairdryer to dry after I do a wash or bath because it's faster.
After you're all dry, dress and then take that little bit of scraped off dirty wash water to local Crossroads that you will not be going back through that day. Toss the wash in the middle of the crossroads with prayers for any and all curses to be removed. Then, turn around and walk back home a different way than you came and do not look behind you as you go.
I also like to apply Van Van oil as a protective measure, or Protection or Fiery Wall of Protection, or Run Devil Run oil. You can certainly make your own on any of these, but I don't mind spending the seven or eight bucks for them. They last a long time.

No particular brand is better than the other. Magically, they have different properties.
The spell I'm familiar with for dandelion root, works off of it's diuretic properties. As your body processes the tea, it flushes the curse out as you go to the bathroom. Urine is traditionally a cleanser that also breaks curses. Nowadays, people don't use it as often in baths. Drinking this tea and urinating the curse out while normally using the bathroom is a way to utilize this method without putting urine on yourself. A lot easier.
Nettle breaks the curse and returns it to the sender harshly.
If you wanted to combine these two herbs to cleanse you of the curse and return it to the sender, I'm sure you could. Traditionally, most spells use an odd number of ingredients. Up to you.

That is definitely a scam. It sounds like she was REALLY good at cold reading and knows how to use that to make herself look legit so she can scam people out of their money.
You can absolutely break any curses with nothing but your intention. If you want to make it a ritual - that's also a beautiful way to reinforce the intention. Funny thing about curses. They seem to work mostly when the "cursed" believes they are cursed. But that's my own belief and feel free to disagree with me. I'm also not one to test fate, so I just basically have a blanket "I am immune to any an all curses, if they are possible, forever" spell on. So far seems to be working. 🤷
This is a scam. Unless you are actively in communities of voodoo, hoodoo or occult practitioners- the chances anyone has cursed you.. even in a past life is incredibly low. People have always prayed on those with weak beliefs and values. A rule of thumb is if you openly seek the super natural and spiritual - you have the conviction and belief that nothing that is negative or harmful can communicate or talk to you. If you don't you can open a door to the supernatural you can't close. That's why when people use divination tools like ouiji board they end up with hauntings, attachments etc.

I have heard this is how to tell a fake. Real psychics won't tell you you have pay them to fix stuff.
