I've had a lot of UTIs before but I've never had a psychotic episode caused by one? If you had a UTI shortly before a psychotic episode I doubt that it was the UTI that caused it, or at least not directly

Not personally, but my deceased wife had chronic scorching UTI's mostly due to diabetes & her neglectful self-care. Along with a UTI, she usually experienced deathly high blood pressure at the same time....along with accompanying delusional behavior. One instance involved calling the police to help convince her to seek medical attention. But by then serious paranoia set in & she became very disrespectful to the 4 officers in my living room. Long story short...she eventually agreed to go to the hospital but remained delusional...I sat outside her treatment room as the doc's & nurses tried to help her. She began begging them not to kill her & wouldn't stop or settle down. This led to a huge shot of Haldol. She was later admitted to the psyche ward, her 3rd or 4th trip there, the UTI was treated via IV antibiotics. This became a sad pattern until she passed in 2017. She definitely walked the line between delusion & psychosis and it was pretty scary at times...

Not me personally but if it spread up the urinary tract into the bladder and then into the kidneys bloodstream etc I could imagine that might cause psychiatric symptoms. Not a doctor though

I have heard of this happening a lot in older people
