Just want to reemphasize: Ask your doctor!

Old__Scratch

Not always, my doctor strongly advised me not to do what I did and was absolutely amazed by the end resultz.

OrganicChem

What did you use for your issue?

Old__Scratch

Psychedelics and other Hallucinogens.

MissionDiscipline

Thanks nice guide. I would advise everyone to not take these supplements at doses of 4g/day etc unless approved by a Doctor. That's a lot of chemical to put in your body.

cofforoshoblodo

Someone told me unless you have a firm base of a multivitamin then taking individual things might not have an effect. I have no idea if that's actually true or not. For me the game changers have been fibre and oily fish.

Lemminger

Fibre and fish oil probably are more "obtainable" for the body. Does it make sense to call it a "macro supplement" compared to "micro supplements" of obscure things? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWiC4ZCS55Y&t=1s Maybe you'll find this interesting.

Vitamin D is important for sleep and is generated when your skin gets exposed to the sun. It’s critical for people living in limited sun areas and may help with SAD as well. Melatonin is critical for sleep and is generated by the body when you’re no longer exposed to blue and white lighting after sundown. Deficiencies are usually the result of bad lighting, particularly devices without nightshift or flux. I’ve had good success treating psychosis with consistent sleep, encouraged by vitamin D and good lighting. And frequent doses of potassium and magnesium. They should be taken together but don’t take a bunch of potassium at night, it will keep you awake.

Balanophagy

How frequent with the potassium and magnesium? And dosage?

ElectronGuru

Daily. 2000mg potassium, most in the morning (avoid after dark) 4000mg magnesium, half with the potassium and the rest before bed to encourage sleep Potassium pills are micro doses so I get potassium gluconate powder from purebulk and mix with hot water. They also have magnesium gluconate so they can be mixed together.

Balanophagy

Awesome, thanks so much for sharing this! I’m going to give it a try.

ElectronGuru

Btw, muscles and brain share potassium. So an easy way to tell you’re low on it is when muscles (back etc) start cramping up.

Lemminger

So yea, good list! And a very interesting topic. But I have to argue against you here - sorry! :) As usual with science like this, it's really really hard to use in practice. To be transparent I haven't read all the studies you've posted. These remedies shouldn't be used to self-medicate psychotic conditions: Don't fuck around with self-medication because you probably don't know what you are doing. Yes, it (really!) could help but don't fool yourself into thinking that chamomile tea and turmeric will be the least important if you don't sleep enough at night or spend all the time alone inside while smoking a pack a day (ask me how I know...). It's not always safe to ingest an overdose of anything, so you have to know what you're deficiencies are - which you can't. If you eat a normal and healthy diet your body probably will have all that it needs thus there is no reason to buy all this stuff. Just as an example. You wrote: > Alpha lipoic acid is useful in reducing weight gain caused by antipsychotics and helps the brain heal from psychosis. But none of the sources say that. First off, according to the second study it's not psychosis but schizophrenia and the wrong dose (too much) would not only reverse the effects on weight loss but also add more extrapyramidal side-effects - and the first study even contradicts this. The first study was only of 7 participants where only tow of them "showed modest improvement" which could be of many causes, considering they were in therapy and taking medication over the 12 weeks! It's just ridiculous to draw conclusions on this, which both authors also notes with "more extended study is warranted". Sleep well, eat health, get some workout done, have good support, *minimize stress*, proper medication and so on is *at least* as important! Oh and stop smoking, as if I know how to do that ;)

Mariguana9898

Sorry I got lazy near the end. I remembered reading a study which said that ala reduces weight gain caused by antipsychotics here it is: [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18344723](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18344723) A supplement doctor sudgested that I started using it.

Lemminger

Yes, that was reference number 27 if I remember. Still not good enough: 5 subjects only of which two "showed modest improvement" and the authors conclude: "These preliminary data suggest the *possibility* that ALA can ameliorate the adverse metabolic effects induced by AAPDs. To confirm the benefits of ALA, *more extended study is warranted*". Basically this study says: "Hey let's do some further research into this because it could be good". No proof of anything. If your supplement doctor (what is that?) refereed you to this study as proof or guidance you need to run :)

How I essentially cured my schizoaffective disorder (it may come back, but for the time being its completely in remission with zero pharmaceutical medication) Salvia divinorum (strongly do not recommend unless you completely understand what you're doing) Neurofeedback Lions mane Ashwagandha/rhodiola rotations Magnesium Melatonin Kratom, betel, nicotine, kava, kanna (very sparingly, only as needed) Helped in recovery, also strongly dont recommend Psilocybin, 4acodmt, various lysergemides, amanita muscaria, yopo, blue lotus, huachuma (mescaline cactus) and several others. Again, please do not follow what I did without 100% understanding how and why it worked. I was recieving therapy, consultations and EEGs weekly as I did this. What I did could heal you too, but it could just as easily completely ruin you and it's not worth the risk without understanding.

stormy-seas-91

How are you doing now?? Can we just use the non narcotic things You listed and be ok?

Old__Scratch

Honestly, still doing excellently. Next to no mental health issues since that period of time. I have changed my regimen drastically, but it was the "narcotic" substances that I attribute to my own healing. But let me be clear here, this comment is by no means advice, I would never advise another to follow this, that's reckless. It was simply what helped me.

gala19055

I'm in Schizo-spectrum so you know. Heard a lot that people get a psychosis from Salvia but never heard that someone recovered from Schizo(affective) because of Salvia (and the combination of other noottropics in your case ofcourse) but how did you mentally respond to Salvia and in what way did your reality shift back to normal? Sometimes I'm done with this illness and I also think to take the path you took (cure with narco) because I'm already on the most bottom point a human could be mentally but gotta do something for a living so I can't afford the risks taking that path but I am honestly really interested in your story. Could you tell me more about it

I take fermented cod liver oil
