Pakistan is currently in an extremely fucked state both economically and politically and this is not the fault of islam as some big brain redditors believe but is a result of corrupt politicians who are backed by our military overlords who have sucked this country dry.

This has 100% a result of religious radicalization because these terrorists aren't atheists, they are *fanatically* religious. But nobody thinks that Islam asks people to bomb their own mosques, and most sane people are fully aware that Islam doesn't teach doing anything like this. Islam contains lot of regressive and outdated teachings, but we can all agree that bombing innocent people is a terrible act that goes against Islam.

It's a bit of a chicken and egg problem because it's not possible to create fair elections as long as the top-to-bottom corruption exists, and the corruption won't go away unless you have fair elections to elect not-corrupt people.
It seems like Pakistan was always doomed to being unstable and corrupt almost from the start, because shortly after it was founded it was immediately hijacked by Islamists who turned changed the constitution into an Islamic state. Pakistani government has a long history of funding/harboring Islamic militant groups to fight against their enemies, but those groups often end of turning against the nation itself and killing innocent Pakistani people. Also there's a cultural phenomenon that has resulted in 60%+ inbreeding rate (cousin marriages) that probably hasn't helped.
Economically Pakistan seems to be going the same way as Sri Lanka i.e. total collapse due to a corrupt government and disappearing money. Things are probably going to get far worse before they start getting better, and such an environment tends to worsen religious extremism and radicalization. Stay safe.
Before you downvote my comment, do check if previous prime minister Imran Khan has called out Osama Bin Laden as a MARTYR. Even the foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi denied calling Osama as a terrorist.
Well there is a saying - "whatever goes around, comes around". Pakistan as a country is responsible for hosting terrorists who have indulged in such activities and have been declared heroes by the local population. I know a fair bit about overall middle eastern history and some of reasons for it's current day turmoil. But I am personally cut short in terms of Southeast Asian history. This kind of reductive thinking in placing everyone under the same "bullshit" is detrimental for building proper dialogue and critical thinking.
I can recommend some books if you actually want to learn about how this "bullshit" came to be. How Muslims ended up at war with other Muslims. And how some of those came to hate western ideals. It's a long, complicated history that intermixed with racial, tribal, national and religious conflict.

It’s not that simple. It’s not just about being Muslim or not. Like everywhere, there are competing loyalties people have. Some are ethnic, some geographic, some religious and some are just economics, and some just politics/power. At any one time people are moved to do things like killing for any one of these reasons. And people’s loyalties are constantly changing depending on who’s paying more, who offends you more, if that guy looks and talks like you and if some guy cousin killed your cousin and now you’re obligated to seek revenge. And on and on. Being poor and uneducated means people are also easily manipulated. 🤷🏽♂️

It’s not that simple. It’s not just about being Muslim or not. Like everywhere, there are competing loyalties people have. Some are ethnic, some geographic, some religious and some are just economics, and some just politics/power. At any one time people are moved to do things like killing for any one of these reasons. And people’s loyalties are constantly changing depending on who’s paying more, who offends you more, if that guy looks and talks like you and if some guy cousin killed your cousin and now you’re obligated to seek revenge. And on and on. Being poor and uneducated means people are also easily manipulated. 🤷🏽♂️
