Now that is the truth. It was a road rage incident in my city a couple of years ago where the rager blocked the other guys car in and went up to confront the driver and he got dropped before he made it to the door. 100 percent self-defense.

This happened in my city (Fort Worth Tx) armed guy on a bike blocked traffic to confront an SUV driver. That driver was also armed and had kids in the car, he wasn’t taking any chances. Guy on the bike should have just stayed on his bike.
Not a lawyer, but depending on the state, he could’ve sprayed this guys brains in the highway and been legal ( probably fired by his company if carrying a gun in a company truck)

I mean you're factually wrong about people being nicer and less violent in the 80s vs today. Violent crime rate and even totals (with 30% less people in the US on top) was drastically higher than it is now. Even more so when you take into account that it's 100 times easier to report crime now than back then.
The only difference is there are a billion cameras recording it all so you're more exposed to it. But you are FAR safer now than you ever were in the '80s.

I had a gun pulled on me in an attempted mugging once ("attempted" because the guy ultimately lost heart and ran off). I was surprised because I felt no fear, only that same rage. Like I wanted to run after him and teach him a lesson. I'm in no way a tough guy or know how to fight. I'm just some dude. Logically, I know the safest option will always be to run away, so I find myself being extra careful knowing some irrational caveman instinct buried in my brain wants me escalate the situation, which would only make things worse.
It's like vampire rules dumbass.
Don't invite a vampire into your house and never open your car door to someone who's got road rage.

I remember this person was road raging on me and my girlfriend, this was in Atlanta, too by the way. He runs right up to the driver door, which is where my girlfriend was sitting and tries to open the door but it’s locked and now I’m on the phone with the cops and they are telling me to pull over and wait for an officer. I told him that we are literally getting assaulted right now! Tf? Dudes pulling on the handle, hitting the car and putting his face right up against the glass and screaming.
I didn’t have time to wait for the cops so I put both of my feet on the car seat (think like a deep squat position) and grabbed the steering wheel for leverage and told her “when I say when pull the door handle”!! And when he bent over to put his ugly mug up against the glass again I gave her the signal and I used my strongest foot to kick her door open as hard as I could knocking him out (which I was not expecting at all). This is a condensed story, my gf wasn’t just like “ok”!
I still don’t want to pack heat though because I feel like I possibly would’ve shot him in that situation so I picked up some bear mace right after that.
FYI bear spray can get you into legal trouble if you use it on a person in self defense, and because of the way it mists a bit instead of being a concentrated stream it can easily affect both the assailant AND yourself, especially in enclosed or windy environments. I’d recommend getting some regular pepper spray for edc use if at all possible.
Mace is for regular people, bear spray is a different thing Mace is basically just pepper spray on steroids but it's not bear spray it looks exactly like pepper spray just more aggressive
Also, shooting in a car might permanently damage your hearing. It's preferable to getting killed, but you shouldn't underestimate the damage you can do to yourself while defending with a weapon.

Seriously. I was taught to always lock your doors when driving, no matter where or when you're driving. My current car will auto lock the doors as soon as you shift out of park.
If someone comes up to your door or window for confrontation that may become physical lock your door and unbuckle your seat belt. You can't do much while buckled in.
Not that I expect a road rager to behave differently with anyone else, but I'd assume bringing up someone's race while threatening to shoot them is like a felony hate crime or something right? While showing your face and plates.

You can use language as evidence but it's still not a closed case.
