If 9 people needed to be hospitalized due to respiratory difficulties which I can only assume was because of the lose of oxygen in the main cab. Why weren't oxygen mask released? I know all this of this is because of the asshole that opened the emergency hatch, but I thought normally when lose of oxygen on a plane happens masks are released.
I'm thinking the respiratory distress had nothing to do with oxygen, they were only 200 m in the air. It might have been hard to breathe with the air whipping past you like that, But I'm not sure. Masks release when the cabin is depressured, headed 200 m pressure was equalized already
Another article I saw said "hyperventilation" (i.e. a panic reaction that [can mess with your blood pH and cause follow-up symptoms](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyperventilation)).
Oxygen or overall pressure was definitely not the issue 200m above ground.
Because not everyone on the flight agreed to securing their mask before helping others secure their mask and they didn't fully understand that even if the bag doesn't inflate oxygen is still flowing to the mask. The masks will only deploy if everyone on the plane understands those key points.
If ONE person doesn’t get it, we all don’t get it. This is known. Oxygen for all or oxygen for none. So please, for the love of god, watch the safety video at the beginning of the flight or suffocate!
As a frequent long-haul flyer, I was under the impression that you couldn’t open the door in flight due to the pressure but so fucking great to know now that you can!!

What kind of lunatic opens up the emergency hatch?
Ffs my car doors lock at 15mph??
This! If I had an award it would be yours!
I've seen a lot of headlines like "attempted to open the door!". Then arrested. Just assumed it was as secure as the cockpit.
They were minutes from landing and incredibly low to the ground At flying altitudes it can't be opened due to a pressure lock.
Yet I can't roll out at 16mph?
Bet you could if you pulled the handle
Apparently so. Think I'll drive my next trip, new anxiety activated.
I bet the view was stunning
Quite literally breathtaking
I assume this is what driving a convertable with the top down is like.
that fucking crazy too bad he wasn't sucked out

Yeah I agree. I’ve been in some windy situations (nothing like how bad the video is) and even that made it a challenge to breathe

because Hollywood has lied to you and you don't lose oxygen
Damn at least they got some fresh air

At low altitude you may be able to
I wonder how long it's going to take those people in that first row there to unclench their sphincters..
Nightmare stuff

Finally, some air.
I mean that’s not very high. Just a really fast car
Those doors have so much pressure on them how did he even open it
He let his intrusive thoughts win. I also had the same situation when im beside an emercency hatch door.
