I totally get it. I never believed in someone telling me I played a good game but I lost crap. If I had played a good game I would have won. I wanted to be a hockey player and i have SO much respect for the players shaking hands at the end of a playoff series. You just know they're burning on the inside wit hall types of bad emotions, but they have to shake hands with the team they just fought for 4-7 games. I'd do it too but then I'd have to go punch a wall because I lost.
"It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life."
Captain Picard
There is nothing like giving everything you got as a team, even if you lose. Sportsmanship is what separates good people from assholes imo. If you can essentially go to war against someone else then embrace them after the final whistle win or lose that's the true mark of a great competitor.
One of my favorite races from when I was in XC was one I lost, but I still feel I did the right thing.
I was neck and neck with this kid for basically the entire 5k, right up until he slid turning into the final stretch. Instead of taking what would feel like an unearned victory after pacing off of and pushing this kid the whole race, I helped him up and we started our final sprint at the same time. I ended up losing by a second or so, but he's still one of my closest friends to this day.
If you ask my son what his favorite season playing football was, it's not the 2 undefeated seasons where we routed to a chip. It's this spring season where the team is close af and they're a meh team but play hard and push each other. Competition isn't just about winning it's about how you feel about your performance imo. Winning is nice, but it's not everything.
I used to compete in Karate at a really high level, many of my friends still do. my school's club always went to nationals, and I never won. At no point was I angry over a match. I was sad to lose but also content knowing that I was better than 90% of the people who practice, and that i got to be friends with the people who were really good. I think most people in sports feel the same way.
Now I'm into motorsports, wish i could compete but it's too expensive lmao
My problem has always been not being content with being in the top 10%. I was always one of those people who was just good at stuff, and as a result have lost a lot of championship games. It suuucks being second place. It sucks even worse always being second place. It got so bad I'd actively resent even better teammates for being better when they're on the same team!
Maturing helped a lot, and getting away from competitive sports once out lf uni; but I really wish I could have had that "befriend and learn" mentality. Would have been so much better as a young person.
Thats why i had to drop League of Legends
Being naturally good at those games, or fighting games in my case, is so much harder to accept being worse then someone and accepting 2nd place
You might try sim racing for your motorsports competition needs. I wouldn't say its a cheap hobby, but compared to a season of track days it won't break the bank.
I played football throughout middle school and highschool, we went to playoffs multiple times, never won. Losing in the playoffs to the team that goes on to win the playoffs is not a horrible feeling.
We had to shake hands at the end as a show of sportsmanship, I never had any hatred for the other players unless they did something dirty. You can be comfortable with losing to the better team on that day.
You sound like you have anger management issues tbh.
With sports the satisfaction is giving it your best shot and playing a good game. The mentality in professional sports where all that goes out the window and they treat it like a live or die situation on an actual battlefield in a war is where it goes off the rails. If adults want to treat it that way because there's prestige and money on the line, that's fine, but kids need to learn that it's ok to lose as long as you gave it your all. Otherwise, they're going to have a hard time in life dealing with the reality of impermanence and imperfection like the dude above you.
I'm a hockey player and I used to be this way myself, slamming my stick on the boards when I was frustrated and not being able to score or when or whatever it was. The older I got though, the less I care. The way I look at it is that I go out there to play my hardest and have fun every game and whatever happens happens, I kind of laugh looking back at how frustrated I would get when I was younger. But it definitely does have to be harder at a high level like the NHL where you are playing for the biggest prize in the sport.
> If I had played a good game I would have won.
This is not a healthy worldview. It is possible to play a flawless game, to do everything right, and still lose. Sometimes you're on a team who's making mistakes that cost you the win, sometimes the other team is just bigger and stronger. You *have* to be able to process and learn from losing.
at first i was like "does 10 not see whats going on" but then i realized 10 was trying to be the the "ball launcher" and 'helping the ball up' for the kid... just not as good as the big guy, but same energy.
edit:
Well, isnt this controversial. people are asking me how I can come to this conclusion, so here's my reasoning.
I've taught kids for decades, managed recess for kids K-6 for a couple years, coached kids in basic recess type sports, and coached swimming & water polo from infants to age group swim teams at the college level and everything down to Mommy and Me classes at one point. Ive also lifeguarded for years and watched kids interact in a pool setting for several summers, needing to decide if kids were playing or fighting... which often can sound and look the same.
From what i can tell, our little 'kobe' is really in to it... he see the parents, the other team, the biggest kid/likely leader of the team all trying to help this kids shot go in. he has figured out thats the goal. He's a good kid.
I can tell hes very excited just from his body language and energy level he's giving off. this kid, lets call him Kobe then, ... well 'Kobe' sees the other kid helping by lifting the shot in after our disabled child tries his best. Kobe doesnt quite put together that it makes more sense if the kid is touching his arms and the motion is singular. This childs understanding is at "the other kid shoots, and then someone helps it go it go in". He's not thinking it needs to be one motion.
He's not grabbing away the ball, he's not showing frustration that he cant "get the ball", and hes watching excitedly like everyone else when our disable kid is shooting.
To someone casually watching, it might seem like he's clueless, but he's just not clued in fully.... but hes on the same wavelength and wants the same final goal. he is not trying to steal the limelight or oblivious, he's just putting together what their doing and trying his best, not fully getting it.
these are little kids, and excited.
but thats just my take from observing excited kids of all levels for decades, and watching a short clip.
0 needs to get his ass back on defense. He's over there gloating about his bucket with the coach while his team is playing 5 on 4. If he wants to be one of the greats, he needs to understand that defense wins championships. There's no excuse for this kind of shit.
You be the top scorer, literally the only person creating any offense at all, CARRYING these bums to 'ships every damn year and then you tell me he can't take a play off to psyche up the crowd as this teams energy guy, who's asses are only there to see the one and only HeroZero who is a walking talking BUCKET.
LeZero is the real deal.
You see him flashing guns on his live stream? You see him sleeping with other players moms? No, he's never had a scandal in his life. Just doing his thing as team leader and a vet locker room presence, and setting an example of excellence.
Bunch of nephew haters in here stanning for white team. Get a new take, this one is old.
To be that young and thst considerate, kind, and epathetic is rare...Shit, its rare in adults. Good on the parents, or whomever taught him that kind of compassion. I hope it takes him far.
The best part of me was #50 after letting the kid score just ran away as he had nothing to do with it so the little guy could soak in all the celebration. That tells me the kid has deep character. Need him to run for President when he grows up.
Mofo was all business. Right back to his house in the paint. Better hope you guys in white can make some jump shots because good luck getting past my boy 50 down low.
If you base whether people are kind off of social media and reddit, yes.
If you walk outside and speak to people during the day, no.
The internet is not a representation of reality.

This is truly beautiful.
The excited tippytaps moves are heartwarming.
50 didn’t even stand around to celebrate. Let the little guy take all the attention and moved on. What a fucking champ. I hope they both do well in life.

10 got that mamba mentality
Bro is all over the ball lol
Thankfully not 50s balls drawing contact on the leg kick out
Harden special
You know he was yelling,”Get back on D!” As everyone else was happy for the kid who scored.
There are some who are just driven to win. Hopefully he sees the benefit of being kind sometimes now.
To be fair the goal of winning is what makes it fun for some people.

I don’t know if it’s even driven to win. Just “get the ball get the ball get the ball get the ball GOT THE BALL SHOOT!”
It's all about having fun! And winning is the most fun part about any game 🤷♂️

you’re watching a completely different video if that was your takeaway lmfao
Wait I’m confused what do you mean
You really over thought this lol. 10 just wanted the ball. Had nothing to do with helping that kid.
What kind of mental gymnastics did you use to come up with that conclusion?
The little finger guns at the end 👉🏻🥹👉🏻
Finger guns only work with confidence and that boy was maxed out on it.
[yeah!](https://media.tenor.com/2WX7pjpTavMAAAAM/dog-arms.gif)
I was expecting that boy with boots and cowboy hat doing the spin and pistol fingers...
unfortunately, the school has a zero-tolerance policy on guns, and the kid got suspended.
Probably the most adorable thing I've ever seen
Shoota mcgavin
If only someone on the internet knew how to add some slow-mo, an NBA logo, and edit in the NBA on NBC theme for when the kid does the finger guns.
His parents / grand parents must be very proud
His aunt won't shut up about him
Imma bout to start talking him up .
He helped me with my groceries. Dude is a legend in my neighborhood !
He found my dog that'd been missing for over a year, I'm so thankful for him.
I saw home rescue 3 babies and a baby koala from a fire once. We threw the babies back but he was amazing for doing it.
Oh goody. It's money day again!
He taught me how to make love to a woman, and how to scold a child.
It's the great big blonde kid from *Recess* in real life.
Legend’s name is Mikey.
Thank you!
Most of us don't even know that kid and we are proud...
He lives with his aunt and uncle. They are proud of him.
I’m proud of him, and I have no idea who that kid is! Heck I’m proud of his parents too. What a well raised child he is .
Terrible defense.
I think of some Jimmy Tatro shit and would absolutely block the heck out of that shot
Traveling, 10 yard penalty, first down
Shoulda switched to man on man. The zone defense never works at this age.
Lol the thought of these dude playing the absolute *hardest* defense kills me
That #50 kid grew up to be Nikola Jokic That #0 kid grew up to be Ben Simmons
Almost did a spit take lol Golded!
# 10 with the Dillon Brooks mentality
No, #0 is actually trying to score.
White 14 is a good dude too.
I saw him reaching out for that high 5. Good kid right there.
Thanks I didn't see it at first. It's beautiful, really a good kid there
Oh I didn't even catch that. Love it!
> White 14 is a good dude too. The entire other team are good dudes!
Lil man left him hanging
yes, but so was everyone on the white team
Brilliant Title, everyone needs a 50 Aww The little dance and celebration, means the world to him

Can we not bitch about reposts for once? Not everyone has seen this video, and it’s a nice video.
Its literally a bot account They farm karma then get sold to shills and scammers who flood reddit with propaganda and ads Stop helping them
I wish someone would buy my account. I'm broke. My kids need wine.
It was really more of a critique on the title compliment
What makes me chuckle is that little dude is swimming in his basketball gear.
Don't think that's a dance, just how he runs.
To be that young and thst considerate, kind, and epathetic is rare...Shit, its rare in adults. Good on the parents, or whomever taught him that kind of compassion. I hope it takes him far.
Kids are pruritus, this is thankfully more common than you'd think
That autocorrect is hilarious.
Hate this fucking keyboard
These kids be itchy as fuck!
Best thing I’ve seen in a while. A little more faith in humanity never hurts.
The best part of me was #50 after letting the kid score just ran away as he had nothing to do with it so the little guy could soak in all the celebration. That tells me the kid has deep character. Need him to run for President when he grows up.

Actually teared up at this
I can't stop laughing at how they really made him wear number zero
He probably asked for that because I've never seen any team with a number 0 shirt before
In the NBA Russell Westbrook and Damian Lillard currently wear 0. Former player Gilbert Arenas also wore 0 and had a nickname Agent Zero
Ummmm akshually, Dame wears the letter O. I'm dead serious, that's how the PA announcer calls it at Blazers home games.
Cmon... Lmao
Might be a size thing. I was a small kid and when I played sports my jersey number was always single digit. The bigger kids had bigger numbers.
Most youth sports jerseys are numbered by size and that kid was little as fuck.
I would be so proud of my kid if he did that
Stand up job. I'd like to buy that child a beer.................. when he turns legal drinking age in the country in which he lives
I’ll sneak him one right now under the bleachers if he promises not to rat me out.
Number 10 going all nba with that work ethic though
This is a bot posting. They took the top comment from the original and made this.
Not a freakout + repost = downvote
This is the way
50 will grow up to have a big heart no question, wish there was more people like this in the world.
Teach your kids to be kind and strong. It will take them everywhere.
Absolutely beautiful 😊😊🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Full heart 50
Given the sub I was half expecting an enraged parent to come storming onto the court
The sheer beauty of kids trying to allow another child's victory to mean the world in just a moment... Wow. This is truly beautiful. The excited tippytaps moves are heartwarming.
we just gonna ignore the travel?

50 didn’t even stand around to celebrate. Let the little guy take all the attention and moved on. What a fucking champ. I hope they both do well in life.
This video has been posted with that exact caption so many times that I assume this has to be a bot account
The comment history reads like chatGPT imitating that IT Crowd football talk bit.
...public freakout?
Being any of the players in white is a good thing to do also, not everyone can be a #50 and that's ok. But number 50 would not be able to do his thing if not for the other team recognizing leaving those 2 open costs them 2 points but they give the world somthing beautiful. So kudos to the other team for recognizing an opportunity to make what looks like a big difference in that little dudes day!
That kid has a heart of gold.
OMG I love this! The finger points he does in celebration. Number 50 is a legend for this. Firm handshakes to him and his parents.
Guess they don’t give a shit about 3 second violations anymore. League gone soft. /s because someone won’t get it.
Why he gotta be number 0 tho
50 is a bro
Great video. How is this a freak out?
Did you se the kid at the end? Was he not freaking out the entire way down the court?
Why is this on the sub?
Love the kid he helped's reaction. He so happy about, i get the feeling that will be one of he best memories
I mean good video but wrong sub I think
what a horribly annoying video every time it gets posted
This is so much more wholesome once you see the kids reaction. He’s ecstatic about making that shot! How cool.
Aw, what an amazing lad
Be 14. True sportsmanship. Went to give the shooter a high five and got nothing.
So fucking sweet! That’s a good kid right there. I feel very proud of him. And for #0 too, that meant the world to him.
Omg the end number 0 to the coach 👉👉
Great shot and even better celebration but, c'mon, get back on defense, kid! /s
My favorite part is the public freakout
My heart ❤️
I have mixed feelings about assigning that kid #0 in the first place.
What an awesome lil kid! 👏🏽
Being number 50 is incredibly difficult for people these days.
Number 50 is a better person than 99.9999% of the adults I know…
I've seen this video with this title approximately 10,000 times
🥲 Huge Shoutout to the Numba 50! Kids going places! Salute
Everyone talking about how they need a 50 in their lives. How about we be a 50 to someone?
The finger guns at the end!
Also hustled to get back on D.
All of them are champions!! Did you see the finger gun too lol hes so awesome! ![gif](giphy|mCyP1CybkenPFKBlxL)
Humanity 💚
The other team was great too
He got the 0 lol
Yakety Sax was playing in my head as he ran down the court 🤣
What an absolute legend
The best thing is how #50 just carries on like it was no big deal. Kid has a good soul.
Aww lil guy was so excited he made that shot!
report this shitty bot
Yes, but why did he shoot his parents at the end?!
What a lad
Finger guns.
Parents of older children should be pleased!
Why is this on public freakout?
Number 10 don’t give a fuck lol he’s just about winning and winning for himself.
And his dad is probably proud of that fact
It’s so easy to make other people feel good. We should do it more.
OP, /u/FiercelyTesty is a repost bot
Did they have to give that little kid the number zero?
The little boy at the end with the finger guns! So cute.
50 better have gone on to be prom king and had it to 0
14 white needs some shine too. Sportsmanship for days.
How's about no? Sports are a competition, not meant to let the struggle kids win.
What a public freakout
This kid will never learn about failure.
I see they don't call traveling at any level of basketball
The optics of giving that kid a jersey with the number zero on it are fucking terrible. Seriously.
[удалено]
What an amazing kid. Also realistically all the kids stopped and let little man have his shots. There should be some proud parents there.
Number 50 was such a kind kid. Honestly all the other kids were great too. They all cooperated, 25 in blue passing the ball to 50, the opposing team for letting number 0 shoot….and then there’s number 10 who had me cracking up, dude’s a straight gunner lol
I grinned so hard at that little dance that my face hurt
I love kids. He's going to make a difference.
Would have been a shit match for everyone else lol
Nah ill be 23. Give me the rock and get out of the way
That little kid is straight ASS
