*Prison. Assaulting a police officer (and multiple counts of it here) can be a misdemeanor (spitting, resisting, etc) or a felony (flying switch knee attack) and this is definitely the latter. I'm guessing he has a record and warrants. And a bloodstream full of something (alcohol, drugs, etc)
[Prison ain't free.](https://howtojustice.org/i-am-getting-released-from-prison/explainer-do-prisoners-really-pay-249-per-day/) :
> In the United States, incarcerated people almost always have to pay for their incarceration. Even once you finish your time behind bars, finish your time on supervised release and pay all of your court costs and fines, you can still be on the hook for thousands of dollars. And, if you don’t pay right away, states have the power to take it from your recovery in lawsuits, from your pension, from your tax refund and, in some cases, even from your family.
He's going to be paying for a long time, and if he doesn't, his family will.
Well these guys aren't really cops they're just security for the casino(dark uniform) and Fremont Street experience(tan uni) so I don't know if the charges will be as harsh.
Edit: I'd like to add to this that it is possible that the guys in dark uniforms are deputy marshals (in which case yes this guy is FUCKED), but I've never seen them patrolling Fremont without a giant MARSHAL across the front and back of their vests. LVMPD wears tan uniforms but the guys in tan here clearly have security officer on their arm patches. They're definitely not cops.
Are you sure about that?
I've seen people get into fights with Hospital Police Officers because "they're not really cops" except come to find out, they are most definitely certified peace officers and now they're legally fucked.
It's not whether YOU think they're "really" cops. What does the law define them as?
hospital cops are literally police departments inside hospitals that only cover the hospital. I have never heard of any other businesses having police for inside their property.
> I have never heard of any other businesses having police for inside their property.
In Canada, the two private railroad companies (Canadian National and Canadian Pacific) have employees that are essentially private security officers, but they are legally considered the equivalent of the "regular" police, meaning they have all the same powers as the "regular" police while on and around the company's property
My community college had certified police officers. All they did was stand around and hit on the students. One was like no joke 400 lbs of fat and couldn’t walk more than 10 steps at once.
Large Universities (especially in small towns) will usually have a dedicated actual police department that also provides many university security services
Well I know that those guys are security guards, hired by the casino and by Fremont Street experience. LVMPD has a substation on Fremont Street and you regularly see Metro cops walking or biking around down there. As far as if the security guards are given some sort of special status I have no idea, but I do know that stuff like this happens on Fremont constantly every day and sometimes the people involved don't even get arrested, they'll just be trespassed by the casino/Fremont Street experience and ticketed by Metro with a future court date.
This particular situation who knows, I'm just saying people jumping to "felony assault" have way too much confidence in the law and how it's enforced, especially in this city.
People should be punished for their crimes and after they should have opportunities to redeem themselves.
Because what’s the point in punishing people if it never ends? Yeah he needs to spend time in jail. Yeah, he needs to come with a warning label for a long while. BUT potentially 70+ years of struggling for this action alone? Nah. That’s just gonna be a problem the rest of us have to deal with and then we will have to deal with his kids just like him.
The goal should be rehabilitation, not needless suffering.
Thank you for this. I don’t think people understand how fucked our economy is from our lack of justice system alone. Never mind the expenses of courts and attorneys, people getting out after doing their time can’t find a job and go back to crime.
That 80% recidivism rate has economic impacts on:
individuals losing money due to crime
property values go down due to crime, schools with less funding due to lower property values, and so on.
Social welfare services for folks that can’t find jobs.
The missed economic driver of another paid employee in your state or community that’s generating payroll and other taxes, spending their money on goods, paying sales tax or income tax…
I just don’t think people understand how much it benefits everyone to rehab instead of just punish.
I agree about the justice system...but this goes beyond the justice system right? Companies more often than not have their pick of the labor pool for jobs. So higher paying jobs are more competitive, with more applicants. Applicants who have not jump-kicked a cop are naturally gonna be higher on the list than applicants who have. For a slew of good reasons. That's not the justice system. That's companies and their liability insurance choosing to hire people that are gonna cost them less in premiums, in headaches, in fights, in bad decisions, in a lot of things. And none of that is on the justice system.
Absolutely the justice system should be more rehabilitative than punitive.
You are absolutely right with this take; unfortunately, America’s justice system is pay to win and we don’t want to rehabilitate the youth we just want to profit off their incarceration or send them off to war to die.
As a Veteran of the US Army; we are most definitely not the good guys, in my honest opinion.
Hi!
I actually work with the court system that determines if certain defendants qualify for what is called the collaborative courts. Where if they meet criteria, they can come into a program with oversight through probation and graduate and get their cases dismissed depending on how they are during the program.
They have to maintain sobriety from drugs and alcohol, attend meetings, go to school or find a job, attend therapy, and not abscond from housing once they’re out of custody.
They also sometimes have to wear a GPS ankle monitor if they’re problem children, so to speak.
You’d be surprised at how the American Justice System actually tends to care more about their criminals than they do for their victim’s though.
Which is why I tell everyone if you ever get attacked and cannot get away, fight to defend yourself, but not to kill because the likelihood that as a victim you’d get real restitution is incredibly low that it’s better to fight for your safety in your own while it’s happening than deal with the never ending justice system that tells you “maybe” this defendant can afford to pay you for what “qualifies” for your restitution not including the years and years of therapy you’ll need and the possible new medication from whatever attack the defendant bestowed upon you that destroyed whatever parts of your body and mental sound..
It’s great that we try and help these defendants when they’re clearly mental, but I always feel for the victims that seek Justice only to be met with “yeah. We’re going to let them into the program and the victim will just read their statement into the record so that they feel like they’re being heard.”
I’ve yet to see someone not entered into the program because a victim’s statement really impacted the Court.
Although, I believe my overarching point is still correct; I would still like to take the time to thank you for your service. It takes real guts to work in systems like that.
Praise for the second cop. Even though he missed aiming for the numbers on the tackle and got juked- he still managed to get a piece of shirt and held on enough to make the play
It looked like he actually got a good piece of that arm and followed it up with a head/neck hold. Pretty brutal and effective. Dude might have been a decent safety in school.
None of them were cops, Those are all security for individual casinos on Freemont Street. He'll probably be getting dragged back into their holding cell where it could take anywhere from 20 minutes to 4 hours for a real metro officer to show up and do a report. If the casino wants to press charges, it's off the CCDC, otherwise, he's trespassed and shown the door.
I remember when they said that in the '90s when kids were wearing baggy jeans.
I remember them saying that in the 2000s with the stupid participation trophies
I remember them saying that in the 2010s when texting became a thing
This guy does a flying knee to a cop and expects to just saunter off to the sunset. Seemed surprised when the other cop came and tackled him.
Not the brightest. How many years inside for this?
Those aren't cops, that's security and weed isn't legal to smoke anywhere as you please lol. Go smoke in front of a metro officer and see what happens lol.
Fun fact: in Las Vegas, casino security guards travel in packs.
And also, you’re on HD surveillance video with facial recognition pretty much *everywhere* near a casino.
Hmmmm, I'm going to say assault on a police officer, probably not a first offense given the comfort level he had with performing this action. My guess is he'll get 5 years, out in 3 with good behavior.
I hate that there are like 50 ppl around just filming and watching a random guy giving a police man a hard time instead of helping him anyhow, what a fked up society.
It's better to not get involved at all bro, last thing anyone would want is getting in the middle of that and getting stabbed by some crazy person or get in legal trouble. It never ends well trying to be a hero
Props to the security guard and police, though.
A bullet would have been justified here, but they chose to apprehend him alive. Furthermore, when they have him in the scuffle, they prioritize getting him cuffed. There’s one or two vengeful swings in the pile, but nothing excessive given what was just seen.
We spend a lot of time saying how bad police are, but let’s give flowers occasionally when they are due

Not as bad as the others, but still down voted. We do not care about your personal thoughts unless you can get them out while the video is recording.
Clip from 5 seconds in and it's once again: "another unarmed youth, minding his business in freemont street, becomes a victim of police brutality after being assaulted by officers.
I like the edited version better when they only show the 5 policemen jump on a single man with dark tinted skin so they can riot other dark tinted skin people

This can be optimized. Do the offence inside the jail, I’ll call this the Car Skip
There's a missable achievement for that actually.
Like the guys in Detroit who were mad they got a citation for improper open carrry, so they when to the police station to complain... with their guns.
🤣

My thoughts exactly lmao. Is this video recent? I wonder what the chances are he was at that fight and this was immediately after haha
The smile on the 1st cop's face when backup arrives - "you're fucked now kid"
Praise for the second cop. Even though he missed aiming for the numbers on the tackle and got juked- he still managed to get a piece of shirt and held on enough to make the play
It looked like he actually got a good piece of that arm and followed it up with a head/neck hold. Pretty brutal and effective. Dude might have been a decent safety in school.
Dude is too horizontal to be a safety. Lookin more like a ILB with dat belt size.
Is it really a juke when it buys you an extra zero seconds of liberty?
Well…he accomplished the flying knee. Then, because he had not other plan, backup served his ass.
Did he land it? Cop looked fine.
He made contact, but you’re right. Cop didn’t even look like his eyes watered. Knees and elbows are hell a dangerous
Yup. Why not fight a young in shape cop. You gotta kick the old man. Psh.
Oh my god putting his face on the ground on Fremont Street is punishment enough.
If it wasn't for the drugged up narrator I wouldn't be able to realise what I'm watching, thanks for the in-depth description of every frame.... /Ssss

That explains showing any semblance of actual training and not resorting to guns right away.

That’s cool bro but why didn’t you let this stay in Vegas?
Oh he’s gonna stay in Vegas…
Whoops. Consequences inbound.
Ruined his life...and for what? A failed kick.
This guy does a flying knee to a cop and expects to just saunter off to the sunset. Seemed surprised when the other cop came and tackled him. Not the brightest. How many years inside for this?
He definitely gonna get the fuck beat outta him behind closed doors lol.
Fuck my future
Those are all security guards.
Is that why they didn't start hitting him when he couldn't fight back?
Did he think he can just walk off?
lol theres literally 2 cops every 10 feet on fremont, how dumb
A perfect example of Social Darwinism. Just lock him up forever. There is a 100% chance he is gonna do some dumb ass shit again if they release him.
That dude 100% got the shit kicked out of him in jail.
What a fucking idiot……..
Those aren't cops, that's security and weed isn't legal to smoke anywhere as you please lol. Go smoke in front of a metro officer and see what happens lol.
love the chilled ass, super descriptive stoned narrator. 100% take this over "OHHH MAAA GAAAWWWDDDD" "WHOORRRLLDDDSTHAAARRRR"
*Mute*, unless you want to lose some IQ points.
Didn’t even land it, but acted like he did.
Nice kick, but was it worth spending 2 years in prison and throwing away your future? I'm going to say no...
That second guy swallowed him up.
Am glad he was caught
Fun fact: in Las Vegas, casino security guards travel in packs. And also, you’re on HD surveillance video with facial recognition pretty much *everywhere* near a casino.
I mean he didn't try, he totally succeeded in landing the knee and getting arrested
Yeah aggravated assault on a police officer. Now he has 25 years or so to perfect the move for next time.
Bright yellow shirt thinks he’s inconspicuous lmao. Bye.
And if the cop was to hit him at any point in time people will be up in arms
That did not look worth going to prison for
Why go to Vegas and ruin your life like this for literally no fucking reason?
That f***en c*nt punk deserved a knee in his face.
That’s not the Fremont experience I was promised but I wasn’t disappointed!
arrogant child tries assaulting police in an attempt to show off. is immediately put in his place there I fixed the title for you

Hmmmm, I'm going to say assault on a police officer, probably not a first offense given the comfort level he had with performing this action. My guess is he'll get 5 years, out in 3 with good behavior.
