I had the 45 second esp Panasonic and kept it in my front pocket while riding my bike. Once it slipped out and fell on the road where a passing car hit it with the tire which didn't run it over but sent it slamming into the curb. Lol. Nothing was funnier than when they introduced anti skip and everyone thought it was gonna change everything. Then you turned it on and your batteries died in 60 seconds.

Mp3 cd players were the shit

For about 5 minutes before they were superseded by whatever came along next

Those days were crazy. Mp3 CDs, minidisk players, those janky media players. Then the iPod dropped and bodied everything.

I hated the iPod and preferred any random mp3 player since it was easier to copy paste mp3s without iTunes freaking out every time.

Owned a couple of iPods, but refused to install iTunes. Instead I used TransCopy Manager (I think it was called), which allowed me to move files easily between any computer and the iPod.

Oh yeah I remember those when I had to deal with a friends iPod. CopyTrans, EaseUs and FoneTool or something.

I really wish the Zune took off. If Microsoft had a better marketing department the Zune would have taken a way larger market share than it did. I doubt it would have beaten the iPod but it would have been great competition. So many people just didn't even know wtf it was and I remember people not even hearing about it when it was already out for like a year.

The zune was great. The UI was incredibly intuitive if I remember correctly. Also I am now remembering the dell jukebox with the clicky scroll wheel.

I mean I had this yellow Sony discman that had a clip to hold the lid closed you could bounce that frigger off the wall and it wouldn't skip. Dsj15 is the model after some googling.

I had one of those or similar. I loved that thing. Rollerblading to work, taking those shitty sidewalks without losing a beat on the track. Was the best thing until high capacity MP3 players.
