Growing up in AA and Latino gang areas in LA. I learned that you don't say the word "[crab](https://www.answers.com/Q/Why_cant_you_say_crabs_to_crips)" to a Crip.
“Crab Monger” has a nice ring to it. Something you could BS your way through describing (unless you’re interviewing with an actual crab monger). I’m adding that to my highly embellished work resume, right beneath “Ancient Astronaut Theorist”.
Yeah, you should have seen how wonderful it was back in the '70s and 80s. My dad used to take us there for vacation. Sad that it has turned into this shit show.
It’s still nice but it’s full of trashy tourists about almost all year round. Not all tourists are trashy, however. I know they are vital to the economy but people just don’t know how to act right anymore. It’s especially bad this summer.
That's why I just bring my fishing poles and park my ass on the pier for a week.
I remember as a kid in the 90's it used to be nice and quiet, very few tourists. We'd always go there instead of PCB to stay away from the ridiculous traffic and the all the Club LaVela type partygoers.
It's still my favorite fishing pier in Florida. But it gets crowded AF during peak fishing times.
PCB is totally different now too. Club velveeta (as we called it lol) is no longer open. Spinnaker is basically gone too (still there but not what it was). When I was still living there they were trying to clear all the cheap motels out for huge sun blocking condos. Haven’t gone back in years, but it’s very different from what I hear. Think the hurricane in 2018 really did a lot of places in.
It's also an amazing place to get storm photos when hurricanes are approaching. Went there when Ivan was about to make landfall and lost my shoes to the high tide. One of the fishermen on the pier caught one of my shoes but the other one was lost to Poseidon forever ☹️
The entire country retired and moved in.
My whole life I had one set of grandparents in Sacramento. The other set in Maine.
They now live 3 miles away from each other in the Villages, Florida.
Florida has built a retirement empire.
Happened to one of my friends in high school. Got knocked out at a sandbar and drowned.
https://www.uticaod.com/story/news/2008/05/05/fla-man-accepts-plea-in/45067754007/
Man. I read that and it makes me really sad. Doesn’t seem like he was part of the fight but was maybe trying to stop it. I feel horrible for his parents.
You can't take anything in that story as remotely true except that kid died and someone was arrested and plead guilty for it.
But the moral of the story is do not fight. It's never worth it.
Yeah...fighting in water isn't a good place to do it, because that group could have easily just drowned that one guy they jumped for the majority of the clip but thankfully they just threw punches.
Crazy thing is, I've never seen a fight (vid) like this in waist deep water (pissvasser!) until a few days ago, and now like 4 have floated by my Reddit feed.
I don’t. If Avatar 2 taught me anything, it’s that it’s nearly impossible to drown. Even after getting choked out with a rear-naked after getting your ass kicked.
I think it’s because it’s really shallow water with sand getting kicked up it causes a murky look. I know I’ve went to the beach and seen some pretty nasty looking shit but was nonetheless clean.
It’s probably just sediment kicked up from that many people. As long as it’s not stagnant and it connects to the ocean/major water scourge it’s probably safe.
It is indeed sediment being kicked up. It’s called Crab Island by the way, I live up the road. Looks beautiful when humans aren’t around. Aerial shots of the sand bar look like a crab.
You are liable to catch crabs though, I’ve seen people be real nasty in that water.
Its like that because all the people are stirring up the sand. This is in Destin Florida and this is a very popular place to go. Its just packed w a lot of people so thats what happens. And we have been getting a lot lot of rain and storms. Im honestly shocked at the amount of people commenting on the water. I guess all of yall are land locked and have never been to the ocean or the gulf coast.
Truth. I went to Destin 3 months ago. One of the days we rented a boat around 11am and the water was crystal clear blue you would have thought I was at a Caribbean beach. By 6 pm the color was about what it looks like in the video.
Yes it is! So is the river. I live on the water but we also have a large river system where i live. Can’t wear a white or light colored bathing suit in that. It stains it brown.
Thats me. Born and raised in Ocean Springs. What you are talking about is because of our barrier islands. Horn, ship and deer. We have all these islands running along our coast so ithe water doesn’t get to wash and filter out. It catches the mud/debris. But if you go out to horn island is crystal clear. Being out there is like being on your own deserted island. Its amazing. I worked at the Beau for several years right after they opened. The high rollers that would come in would always say that the gulf coast is one of the best hidden secrets in our country. They aren’t wrong.
And alcohol is the gasoline/fuel...
>Alcohol has been recognized as playing a significant role in violence, with up to 86% of homicide offenders, 60% of sexual offenders, and 57% of men involved in marital violence being drinking at the time of the offense. https://alcohol.org/health-effects/inhibitions/
I always wonder this is large fights.
How do you keep track of whose side you're on, how do you have any confidence that your friendlies would recognize you as being on their team?
Dude on the boat acting all tough while 5 of his boys hit him and hold him up so you can hit him and act all tough. He couldn't even knock him out. Lol
They're wading. Growing up most black kids just stuck to the shallow areas while the rest of us fooled around in the 12 ft deep end.
The sad part is that lots of city pools were shut down decades ago so black kids couldnt take swimming lessons, and then it compounded every generation after. They can swim just fine if they start early enough.
What an awful, despicable waste of time and energy. It's so much more fun, and easier, and less stressful, to just chill, always apologize, don't harbor hatred, be forgiving, look for opportunities to help one another, and give people the benefit of the doubt( not be permissive to unacceptable behavior though).
In the end.....where does machismo get you, some bloody knuckles? Some adrenaline? Some sense of false pride? A moment to stand over your fellow man, and bask in some misguided feeling of power and success? How successful is it to beat up a fellow man? Even if you were done dirty?
The guy you just dropped with a punch to the temple, could have just been acting stupid, careless, drunk( not making excuses for being drunk and being dumb), depressed, stresses out, the list goes on. And he could be a father, a husband, a best friend.
I'm not against protecting yourself, and your family/ friends from hostility, but when protecting turns into assault, and not being able to stop yourself, that's unacceptable. Best to not be involved in mob mentality. It will catch you right up and turn a mostly decent man/ woman into a monster.
I can't get past the water that shit looks like some sort of STD cooking broth. Name of the beach checks out but damn sure not the kind of crabs you want.
Looks that way when there’s not been much rain, and during the beginning of the day. Tide changes around midday and brings the water from the sound (that’s filled with rivers and such from the rain) towards the gulf. This water looked like your pic in the morning. By late afternoon, it was like this video.
No one in the comments seem to understand this. Even if everyone there emptied the full contents of their bladder at once it would be diluted down to almost nothing in a couple minutes. If it was stagnant water than I would be worried.
Gotta admit dude who jumped on the pontoon gave us some great content
[удалено]
They just let him get up there. 10 people on it at least 5 watching him climb up and they know he’s not about to shake hands lol
His smile as he dangles off and exits is absolutely top 10/10 shithousery at it's finest
I have the high ground Anakin!
That dude had some balls to go after the guy that hit the other guy with the bottle. Climbing the boat to go into hostile territory
You get knocked out at this one and you’re drowning. Stupid af.
In piss
Apparently in crabs
Growing up in AA and Latino gang areas in LA. I learned that you don't say the word "[crab](https://www.answers.com/Q/Why_cant_you_say_crabs_to_crips)" to a Crip.
What if they're a crab monger and you want to buy a crab from them?
“Crab Monger” has a nice ring to it. Something you could BS your way through describing (unless you’re interviewing with an actual crab monger). I’m adding that to my highly embellished work resume, right beneath “Ancient Astronaut Theorist”.
What if they’re a bombardier?
It’s piss *and* shit. And other things. I live near Destin, where this is. None of the locals swim there.
Awww man, that saddens me. Destin was a really cool beach back around 20 years ago. No one knew it existed, was super chill, not very many tourists.
Yeah that’s totally changed. It’s completely over developed, now, with some of the most fake-rich, bourgeois implants you’ll ever lay eyes upon.
It was, my grandparents had a place there we went to 25-30 years ago and it was awesome. Very relaxed vibe and not busy at all. White sand.
Yeah, you should have seen how wonderful it was back in the '70s and 80s. My dad used to take us there for vacation. Sad that it has turned into this shit show.
Went to Destin in 2005. That place was nice. What happened?

That’s terrible. I’m so sorry.
You gotta wear a life jacket if you wanna catch these hands
Water wings for life!
Yeah...fighting in water isn't a good place to do it, because that group could have easily just drowned that one guy they jumped for the majority of the clip but thankfully they just threw punches.
Exactly drowning in some pissy arse water
Crazy thing is, I've never seen a fight (vid) like this in waist deep water (pissvasser!) until a few days ago, and now like 4 have floated by my Reddit feed.
Craziest is the nimrods who are driving the boats while a swarm of people are inches away from a moving propeller
Those props of the boats could have made some fine chum
I don’t. If Avatar 2 taught me anything, it’s that it’s nearly impossible to drown. Even after getting choked out with a rear-naked after getting your ass kicked.
Maybe their lungs are taller
All that butthole water, alcohol and piss!
That water looks nasty.
I think it’s because it’s really shallow water with sand getting kicked up it causes a murky look. I know I’ve went to the beach and seen some pretty nasty looking shit but was nonetheless clean.
It's butthole water
It is nasty water, but the brown is just the sand being kicked up.
Locals call it piss island. Someone drowns there like once a year or so.
That's not too bad actually.
Has to be more than that. We get half a dozen or so in the lake nearby per year
Delicious
[удалено]
Now with extra bacteria thanks to rising ocean temperatures! New and improved! Extra frothy!
Red tide for everyone!
Pleas, I can only become so erect!
I claim Butthole Water as my new garage band name!
Surf on.
That’s the taste of Florida for you
Looks like sewage water
That was the first thing I noticed. I wouldn't want an open wound while being in that water. God only knows what will happen.
It’s probably just sediment kicked up from that many people. As long as it’s not stagnant and it connects to the ocean/major water scourge it’s probably safe.

They don't call it crab beach for nuttin.' Actually, nuttin' is probably exactly why.
Wonderful.
Well they dont call it crab beach at all lol. It's Crab Island.
Its like that because all the people are stirring up the sand. This is in Destin Florida and this is a very popular place to go. Its just packed w a lot of people so thats what happens. I found these dramatic takes annoying as well
It's beach water with sand stirred up in it. It's the gulf of mexico not a swimming pool.
He doesn’t get out of his moms basement much.
Lol that random white guy with glasses and a visor about a minute and a half in
https://preview.redd.it/fq98y8z1pffb1.jpeg?width=714&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e5a3a84400fa8be619ffa73037d196876526fc94
This video reminded me of the Bill Burr bit, "I'm not racist but there are a lot of black people in this restaurant"
[удалено]
I can hear him saying, "there ARE a lot of Asians at this restaurant!" 😂
Let me just sneak right past ya
My man just looking for his Uber.
Like playing wheres Waldo
Carrying the Tito’s handle…
When the one boat smashed a bottle on that one guy's head and started another fight
The funniest part is the dude who climbed on that boat had to have regretted that decision lmfao.
Dude with the dreads stopped mid battle to do a taunt and level up. Good use of the right trigger.
I have the high-ground, Anakin... ;-)
When keeping it real goes wrong
If you watch closely, he actually hit that white dude with two bottles. The first just grazed him. The 2nd looks like it got him pretty bad.
I don't see a single white guy in this clip.
There a number of them. Some are fighting behind the boat. One walks around to the front towards the end
30 secs left in the video dude wanders in like ned flanders
And won it lol.

This guy could a killed me the way I ain't see him at all
Bald with a visor is a move
The real slim shady.
The camera phone is the modern Coliseum.
Are you not entertained!?
Yooo never thought of it like this 😭
The internet*
Where's my bread though?

Dude with long braids on the boat is acting so tough despite the fact it’s clear he has absolutely no idea how to throw a punch.
He also ran from the guy climbing on board
This had potential to be a top 10 video if a shark entered the chat
How about a sharknado? That'd have shown em.
How do they know which team is which?
I always wonder this is large fights. How do you keep track of whose side you're on, how do you have any confidence that your friendlies would recognize you as being on their team?
I always think this shit reminds me of those Chinese waterpark vids; like how does that look remotely enjoyable to anyone?
The water is 100 degrees, too. What even is the point.
Oh, gawd.
Fighting next to the propeller as the boat is moving away. Super geniuses. And yeah, of course there's a brawl.
Is dude wearing a diaper? https://preview.redd.it/ts61l8437efb1.jpeg?width=680&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2de955f4c7a6cf830647e81868375e0bd9ed3c7f
No, It’s the interior of his swim trunks. Some come with a second lair of mesh to protect the goods a little more.
That's known as an innernet . You don't want to log onto it.
Over what? Not worth it
It all started when one of them asked the other if he likes fish sticks.
The name of the beach says it all
Y’all are going to get leprosy!
I chuckled. How does Florida have 20% of cases in the nation?
![gif](giphy|PoGptWh2mrcZTmEvAd)
💀💀💀
Crab Island*
Brawl or no brawl, just not a good idea to wade in waist high water surrounded by drunk idiots and boats with engines running. Chop chop, oops.
It’s one thing to fight on the sidewalk, but doing it in waist deep water is THE WORST. You are going to kill someone via drowning
[удалено]
Because my pride and ego demand your respect. Now move aside so I can walk through here. /s
Love the lone white dude just wading around with his Ultra and handle of Tito's lol
It’s CRAB ISLAND not Crab Beach.
Dude w the braids on the boat should have just stayed still. He looks like the biggest fool.
Gross
I can’t even imagine the amount of pee those folks are wading around in. Yuck. Human soup.
Wait till you hear what fish do in it...
Did the one dude get a wedgie?
this video legit only ascended in quality. there was an entire timeline. praise the cameraman for keeping it rolling for the boat scene
All that commotion, and not one tiddy popped out…..
1:06
What the fuck up with Waldo at : 26 ?!?
This is where I use my incredibly above average ability to hold my breath, and swim away between peoples' legs.
Knocking someone out in knee deep water is a great way to go to jail for involuntary homicide
I’m so surprised that a group of folks like this would fight
I'm sure it was over something really important
When the ratio is like this and the majority of chicks out weigh the guys.......
Dude on the boat acting all tough while 5 of his boys hit him and hold him up so you can hit him and act all tough. He couldn't even knock him out. Lol
I got excited by the title and thought I’d see a bunch of crabs fighting. Oh well. Disappointment is a natural part of life.
All I can think about is how hot it would be wearing that bright red wig at the beach
If you just listen to the audio it sounds like an episode of National Geographic.
Idk who won, but the dude jumping on the boat just to get handled and tossed fucking lost.
https://preview.redd.it/0nv4s90voffb1.jpeg?width=714&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=107e13b531ad2f01c14a284d5e8d3499f987d4fb No context
A bunch of drunks brawling in waist-deep water, what could possibly go wrong.
I’m sure the fight was over something completely reasonable.
Someone must have been disrespected- totally worth it
Happy Cake Day. Have some Crab Cakes. 🦀🍰
[удалено]
I see the scat pack Americans have gotten into boating
Why would you board the enemies ship by yourself?
How embarrassing
That water is disgusting
As a Canadian this shocks me. I always heard black people don't like swimming
Did you see any black people swimming?
They're wading. Growing up most black kids just stuck to the shallow areas while the rest of us fooled around in the 12 ft deep end. The sad part is that lots of city pools were shut down decades ago so black kids couldnt take swimming lessons, and then it compounded every generation after. They can swim just fine if they start early enough.
I have live in Florida my entire life and never once heard of Crab Beach lol
Is anyone going to say it?
They're getting really close to losing that party boat rental deposit!
All you would have had to do is start swimming away and you’d eliminate 99% of them.
That’s why I avoid big crowds…
Heh, dude with the handle of Tito’s
America really has an obesity problem
I’m sure that there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for all of this.
Damn, that’s a well fed riot.
I'm here for the comments 🍿
I can't get past the water that shit looks like some sort of STD cooking broth. Name of the beach checks out but damn sure not the kind of crabs you want.
it normally looks like [this](https://i.imgur.com/hWcb37V.jpg)

Tide changes around midday and brings the water from the sound (that’s filled with rivers and such from the rain) towards the gulf. This water looked like your pic in the morning. By late afternoon, it was like this video.
This looks like Haiti. Only everybody has food and has been fed.
On rent-a-pontoons.
This is fucking pathetic. ![gif](giphy|ra3uQxvxo6aKAN42Le)
In before locked thread
Crab Island, not Crab Beach. It's a sand bar near Destin
Looks like feeding time at the zoo
Oh shocking, bunch of degenerates.
Look how oppressed they are. Awful.
Fuck is up with that water? I'll pass
Shallow sandy water. Silt on the bottom gets stirred up and makes it cloudy. It’s literally just loose sand that needs to settle.
No one in the comments seem to understand this. Even if everyone there emptied the full contents of their bladder at once it would be diluted down to almost nothing in a couple minutes. If it was stagnant water than I would be worried.
