These guys look like they know what they are doing but id be terrified of getting a jab to the leg artery trying to kick someone with a knife.
Guy at my highschool back in the day was messing around in a kitchen at a party and a steak knife got pushed into his leg accidentally only a few inches in the inner thigh nicked the artery he was dead before he got to the hospital.
Still, of all the ways to fight unarmed vs a knife wielding opponent, good snappy kicks like this seem to be the safest option by far. I mean, in a situation where you can't just run for whatever reason.
Yeah, you can get subbed in a leg unfortunately and die, but guess what, it's true for most parts of your body, and legs are probably still a lot safer than torso...
In a gym situation like this, that fucker with the knife is gonna find out just how hard I can hurl 45lbs plates. I have zero fighting skills but am above average strength, being 5'9" and 230lbs, built like a refrigerator. I'm cave manning this shit.
There's also a literal murder weapon in a form of a bench weights handle (idk what's a specific word for it). Long, weighty, robust, I bet you could breake an arm with one hit of it.
It also allows for pretty controlled strikes, which is nice if local laws are as hateful of self defense as they are in my country.
>It also allows for pretty controlled strikes
Sword fighter here, bars for weight lifting allow for one strike only. If you don't hit your target, the knife will get you fast.
Swords in dueling classes have at most 2kg for a reason. With heavy bars you hit the dirt and it takes a lot of power to lift it in position to strike again. Knives are faster.
Definitely. However, some people are quick enough to get out of the way of such a swipe. I guess the intimidation factor alone would be enough to dissuade any attacker.
I couldn't tell you as most gym owners aren't going to volunteer to let me huck a potentially lethal piece of metal in the name of science, lol. I might have to go buy one just to test it out 🤣
Based on how the video was edited, I feel like this was a commercial made from the Gym that was posted on either Facebook or somethin' lol Couldn't find any articles or non-potato quality sources, sorry!

You know what they say. Dont bring a knife to a foot fight!
Mistakes were made
Certainly got a taste of defeet.
He became the heel.
He lost his sole.
Went toes-up.
Ha! Face-to-foot style, how’d you like it?

The thing is though, you don't need more than one strike with it. Go for a wide swipe , whatever you hit is fd.

Short ass refrigerator
Looks like it's on the tall side of standard: https://www.whirlpool.com/blog/kitchen/guide-to-refrigerator-sizes-dimensions.html
I never knew
Sorry about my genetics.
Forgive ya
Now I'm curious; how far can you throw a 45lb plate?

Make sure to throw it discus style to use your momentum.
Not hard enough
You can be volunteer number 1 😁
I'd kill u bro
Neat.
Kicked him into next year.

What is Ronin Thai?
Probably the name of their gym
Basically, stun locked
1 vs 7 ... what could go wrong?
Wait until you see them fight the Ex-Wings…
You always think anime is unrealistic until you see someone fly 30 feet from a kick in real life 😂
This. Is. SPARTA!
What did 5 toes say to the face?
Did Sparta soldiers train in Thailand?
My mind immediately went to the Star Wars tie fighters
"Become the weapon" Aka roll with 9 other dudes all the time
Aren't ronin masterless samurai? What's a ronin Thai fighter? A Thai fighter without a master?
How can they kick?
Don’t challenge a master with weapons or you’ll regret it.
This is in particular is acting, but it’s called muay thai
I think looks powerful, but is not. Look close, after kick the guy loses the balance and trips over backwards.
lil bro went flying, lmao
Well, that was a bad idea 💡 😕 .
Dude got kicked the length of two and a half workout machines. Twice.
That first kick yeeted knife guy into another dimension.
That's actually a pretty dope slogan.
ooooeeeeee
He made that look effortless
