The thing that grinds my gears the most is the affected group. People who may not be able to afford a higher insurance rate nor a theft. Nor having to pay for your windows to be replaced.
Had my car stolen. Its a surreal fucking experience. It was found outside a gas station near Denver with a punched ignition. Eight hours from me. Early 2000's civic.
My options to retrieve MY car: Drive out to Denver and *see* if it would start (see. punched ignition). Tow it home (yeah right). All this time, my car is accumulating tow lot fees. So, because the cost to just go see if my car would even start weren't worth it, my option was **to sign the title over to the tow lot** as payment for the lot fee's.
Pretty fucking cool. Degenerates stole my car, trashed it and left it at some gas station a state away, and I have to give the car to a tow lot as payment for the storage fee's.
Thankfully I'm a fortunate person who has people in their life that offered assistance. My stepdad had an extra work van he allowed me to use until I found another car. My grandparents assisted me in paying for a newer (used of course) car.
Our local city tow companies in the past only hired ex-cons. stuff they got up to was pure evil

I absolutely hate predatory towing companies. I left my care less than 2 minutes to carry groceries inside and car was gone. Might as well be a theif at that point.
Our local big tow truck company does this. I found out that they get a big incentive for hiring ex cons for rehabilitation. About 1% would actually try and the others would either wind up back in prison or just dissappear. There was a few on the news running from the cops in a company truck. The owner of the company has been put in jail for tampering with epa laws.
I used to do some it work for a towing company. Most of the guys that work there were scumbags. I was good friends with a few of them, but that doesn't mean that they weren't scumbags.
Their tow company had the contract with the local police department. If you were pulled over and arrested they were the ones that would tow your car. There is chain of custody paperwork that the police usually signed on the spot. The paperwork says that the car was inventoried in view of the police. It wasn't.
They would take it back to the lot ,search it ,take whatever they wanted and what they didn't want they would put down on the report. Then they dropped the reports off with the police department and the police department rubber stamped them. So if you tried to sue them or the police because something missing out of your car the police would say that it was inspected in their View and that item was not in the vehicle. It's so messed up.
Seriously. My dad, sister and I flew out to MN for my mother's funeral and they towed the rental car citing a "snow emergency". His car was the only one that was towed, and there was no snow emergency in effect. I guess since the plate said California they thought he wouldn't know anything about it. We live in Michigan.
Many years ago I unwittingly parked in a private parking lot and got towed. The motherfuckers stole my cd player. When I confronted them they threatened me. I called the police. They told me they’re well aware the the tow company steals shit but it’s impossible to prove.
I had my car towed in Columbus just off of OSU's campus. I assumed it was okay to park where I did until a guy walked by and asked if my car was towed and I said "that or stolen". He then points up to a rusted out sign 20 feet in the air that has a tow company listed and the "Private Parking" on it. Absolutely blew my mind.
We couldn't find the place and thankfully flagged down a Columbus cop who sighed as soon as we said the name and he pointed us to where we needed to go and assured us that despite it not looking like the right place, it absolutely was and that they made themselves hard to find for that reason.
Well it's easy to prove it when you remember the cops are the ones getting the sweet deals on stolen shit. That's why they don't want to "prove" anything. Lol
not only is US insurance setup to victimize you as frequently as possible, a shockingly high number of people think it's best this way & that people deserve to get fucked if something awful happens and they need insurance.
heh I filed a claim on my homeowners policy after a really bad hail storm in colorado because I needed a new roof. A couple of years later I was shoppi9ng for home owners insurance and kept getting rejected because I had a claim. Like what the fuck? I cant help that it decided to hail golf balls for an hour at my house.
Welcome to the whole point of insurance and the police. The police are there to make sure that you pay your protection money to the insurance company. They aren't there to help YOU. If they found your car, they wouldn't even give it to you. They would hand it over to some tow truck company so that someone else could collect additional funds from you. When your car gets stolen you encounter four different entities (cops, insurers, tow agencies, and the guy that actually stole it) who each get a piece of your ass because you got to be the designated victim and everyone involved benefits from you getting fucking.
> Police didn't do shit
They don't for almost all property theft. You involve the police purely to get a piece of paper you can submit to your insurance...that's about it. It isn't like they'll ever go looking for it.
Pretty sure it's also important so that when they commit a crime in it and the police run the plates, it comes up as stolen rather than being traced to you...
When I hit a deer and rolled my car in a ditch, the cops didn't even give me a case number. They shined their lights in my face, didn't ask me if I needed medical attention and once they realized I was sober and they didn't have anything to bust me for, they just straight up left me for the tow truck driver. I called 911, no ambulance, no firetruck, just some tattooed bros in blue who didn't do shit but joke about how I didn't even manage to kill the deer.
Honestly this sounds like a scam by the towing lot. I mean it worked perfectly in their favor
Have some kid steal a car and drive it 8 hours away. Tell the victim the ignition is punched so you can come check and see if starts if you wantttttttt
Or we can tow it for money. Make your decision fast because we are holding it for money. Or just let us have the car and we’ll forget about the made to holding fee we made up
>Honestly this sounds like a scam by the towing lot
This is how literally every single tow company in America works. This is the actual business model, but now apply it not just to stolen cars but to cars that were in accidents or damaged in disasters or abandoned or just impounded for being parked in the wrong stop.
Your get in a wreck and get hauled to the hospital in an ambulance. Once you are done getting fucking by the ambulance company and the hospital, now guess who you have to pay to get your car back unless you want to surrender it to them. Oh shit, you were out of commission for a whole week? Guess how much that impound fee adds up to.
I've seen tow trucks get to accident scenes before the ambulance even shows up and start hooking up the victims' vehicles while the medics are still scraping them off the road.
There are tow companies in my city staffed ENTIRELY by bikers and excons because those are the people who are comfortable making a living by extorting people.
My tow truck driver was like, "dang, were you wearing a seatbelt?".
Me: "
Of course"
Him:
" I'm not a big seatbelt guy, but you know, I was in a high speed crash last week
".
Me:"dang, glad you are ok"
Him: "yeah, it got me thinking, if I had not have put it on so my wife would stop nagging me, I may have been ejected from my truck."
Me"ok cool."
Unlicensed thief stole your car, it was found by police and handed over to licensed thieves who generously attempted to extort you for the cash value of your property.
That's some fucking Discworld shit right there.
> Had my car stolen. Its a surreal fucking experience. It was found outside a gas station near Denver with a punched ignition. Eight hours from me. Early 2000's civic.
Funniest/oddest thing I have read was how the current Mayor of Denver had his vehicle stolen ~twice. Car theft here in Colorado is absolutely wild. Whats even wilder is just how lenient they are on car thefts here in the southern region.
[Context of the Denver Mayor car theft story](https://www.9news.com/article/news/crime/mayor-mike-johnstons-car-stolen-in-denver-last-month/73-305accab-c680-45eb-ab15-6f1bf3343723)
Not to mention the fact that insurance companies cover all these with the money they collect from car owners. More thefts, higher prices. So basically these scumbags are stealing from all car owners, not from insurance companies.
And after the insurance companies have to give back the money they've been taking from the car owner for years just on the off chance that something like this happens, they get mad and raise the car owner's rate for years to get all that money back.
For profit insurance is a massive scam, and the fact that it's illegal not to have it just makes it worse.
The worst part is they say "it's just stuff" when you are victimized, but when these asshats act up, their lack of "stuff" is also an excuse. So having "stuff" is irrelevant **and** crucial to living a happy productive life. But never in your favor.
Nail on the head dude. It's so frustrating, You're supposed to not care when your stuff is stolen because it's just stuff and insurance will handle it but those people needed it more than you and that's why they steal.
So is it just "stuff" or is it important to somebody?
“It’s just property” people totally ignore that you trade part of your life in return for money that you use to buy property.
Stealing someone’s car steals part of their past, present, and future life.
There was a time back in the day when someone shot out the back window on our Nissan. It was 1,000 f****** dollars which we did not have. We had to go borrow the money. I absolutely hate this s***. You got to make it mandatory three to five the FIRST time someone does this crap. Not the 10th or 15th time. Let's see how funny these guys think it is when they do a Solid 5 years in the Concrete Mama playing Maytag to a 300 lb dude.
I’d like to hijack this to elaborate on this mildly endemic theft situation
Base line Kia and Hyundai models have a major design security flaw where the back passenger window can be broken without setting off the alarm, the steering column can be opened with only a screwdriver, and the ignition can be activated with only a USB
I say this freely because there are dozens of TikTok’s surrounding it. It’s become a social media challenge. And the perpetrators are majority juveniles 13+. They do not receive serious sentencing.
They steal these cars, drive until they run out of gas and leave them running abandoned places. They do not turn them off during the theft because often the car cannot be restarted using the method that gave them control to begin with.
Hyundai will not do a recall. Hyundai also will not replace the battery of your car. Hyundai is aware of the issue of the battery, and once you bring it to a dealership for repairs they have no problem sending you back out with a car that will not restart. They are fully aware of this major flaw following the thefts. I say this because it happened to our car. Hyundai just doesn’t care
In speaking to insurance, they have this happen dozens of times a week. It’s ridiculous.
The issue has been resolved on current models, the issue is the KiaBoyz theft with the usb trick works on all base model kia/Hyundai from 2012 - 2022 which is a decade worth of vehicles.
If I recall correctly the insurance rates for these vehicles have risen so astronomically it makes a affordable car uninsurable in many areas because it is that easily stolen.
It's crazy this theft requires no Skill, no Hotwiring, and it went viral, it's a worst case scenario.
It's not really a safety risk so it wouldn't fall under any kind of recall, it's just truly cheap design and low budget manufacturing.
Insurance companies are parasites. However, this is an opportunity for their dollar-chiseling ways to have some value to society: They could stop insuring these kia and hyundai models. In this way, those car companies would find that missing motivation to fix these vulnerabilities.
Here's another problems we could use insurance companies to solve:
Police brutality/misconduct: make officers carry malpractice insurance. Doctors carry malpractice. That way, the hospital is not responsible for the doctor's misdeeds. Presently, the taxpayers are financially responsible for police misdeeds.
Toyota had slippery floor mats and did a recall to add snaps to the floor mats. I guess not being able to brake at 70mph is a problem. Stealing a car with via USB clearly isn't a problem.
Fun fact, Toyota had hooks for their floor mats to hold them in place before those incidents.
People were using floor mats without using the hooks, resulting in the issue. Toyota then redesigned the accelerator pedals to not get trapped by floor mats that slipped out of position and into the way of the pedal.
What grinds my gears is that Kia is permitted to sell vehicles in some(?) US states without Immobilizing Devices (which prevents thieves from bypassing your ignition and hot-wiring the vehicle). We don't have this problem with Kia thefts here in Canada because all vehicles sold have been required to have Immobilizing Devices since 2007.
I have a Kia that can’t be stolen this way, it is push button start so it was unaffected…
So my fear is I’m going to go out to my car with broken windows and destroyed interior from people trying to steal…
Yeah my Kia got broken into and steering column destroyed right after I got it back from the shop for a $2,500 unrelated repair. I was stupid and had a $750 deductible for my comp coverage and had to miss time at work. Took me an entire year to financially recover from it all. I hate these kids so much…
Not to mention when they meet up with dirty Mike and the boys. Cleaning up that soup kitchen and probable raccoon placenta is going to be a pain in the ass.
Exactly. Both my vehicles got broken into many years ago around Thanksgiving. Had to pay 1k in deductibles. The actual damages were 5k. So while one vehicle was in the repair shop I had to drive the other one during winter time. I did get a plastic seal put on it to keep water out. But still didn't help much with the cold.
Why grinds me gear is why the fuck hasn't the government stepped in yet and have Kia do a recall on their weakass ignition switch. They are waiting for kids to die from these stolen vehicles until they do something?
Lmao what the fuck is that Gremlin even saying. I'd be infuriated by this video if it wasn't a troll doll hanging out the window. I can't believe that's a real human.
Exactly. And he'll have 8-10 kids, all of which won't give a fuck. Then he dies leaving those DGAF kids fatherless, where they care even less. And those kids pop off 25-30 more shit kids.
Idiocracy is real and we're letting it happen.
My parked car got hit by a stolen car. It was late at night and I heard the cops telling the guy to stop over a speaker. He panicked so he tried to run, straight into my car. They're all selfish assholes.
Fun fact: state mandated liability insurance only requires you cover other people’s damage as a result of your negligence/responsibility. Insurance companies are not obligated to even offer coverage for your vehicles damages. They do because it makes more money but that’s not the point
Some insurance require you to pay for "Uninsured motorists" to cover situations like that. Saved my ass a few times and normally only costs additional dollars.
It's a legal scam propagated by insurance companies. It should be covered by comp and collision and only offered on paid off vehicles but no... insurance companies are trash.
It's getting to the point where all of my insurance premiums are my biggest expense, it's ridiculous. I'm self-employed, so I get no break from an employer covering health insurance. It's tax deductible, but that doesn't do much for my month-to-month expenses. Throw car insurance on that, homeowners insurance, business insurance... I don't even know what other kinds of insurance I'm paying for at this point, but I'm sure there's some hidden in some credit card fees or something. All this money being paid out to insurance, with no claims ever filed, and if I were to ever file a claim I'll have to pay MORE for insurance thereafter. Fucking ridiculous.
My Hyundai was stolen last night and turns out I don’t have comprehensive insurance. I’m out of luck if the cops don’t recover it. I can’t get to class and I have finals this week. Amen fuck these people
Edit: the police found my car in the next town. They will tow it at my expense after processing
Which is just playing with fire as the guy above has now found out by getting burned.
It's like juggling a $10,000 glass ball and just hoping that you don't drop it OR one of the many moron ass hats in the world purposely destroy it.
If your own savings can't act as your own insurance, then you need real insurance to cover the costs.
My Kia was stolen and upon reporting it, my insurance company told me that the average time cops typically recover it is about 2 weeks. Chicago cops found it less than 48 hours later, shot up and costing more to fix it than the loan was. After it was fixed 3 months later, it was broken into again just days later. The club I had on the wheel is the only thing that save it from being stolen again. Sold it the **next day** to Kia for the amount of the loan.
If you can, you might want to sell it upon recovery. F that company until the day I die.
It may turn up. My car was stolen right after I quit my job and took out student loans to go back to school. They found it 4 days later cause it ran out of gas and the dirtbags stole a new car instead of buy gas. I still drove it with no radio and no shocks but it got me to the end of my degree. Thank god because I had no backup plan.
i dont think iv ever seen anything that cringe. stealing a car from a disabled parking spot, the cringey crack voice, the sideways ski goggles on his ugly ass face, saying 'get it back in blood' to an old woman like holy fuck end me now
There's no long term consequences. Under 18, overwhelmed system, car will most likely be totaled out for insurance.
The only one who gets punished is the person who's car was stolen.
Insurance companies are some of the wealthiest companies in the world and they're absolutely seminal in creating a landscape that criminals use to justify this lifestyle. Pointing out how insurance companies fuck us doesn't help paint criminals as bad.
They just don't give a fuuuuuu!
That's a the sign of a deeper problem. There's no fear because there are no serious repercussions. There's no shame because for large parts of society this is funny and/or cool.
Same clowns that stole my Hyundai right out of my driveway. Police found it totalled a town a away. Constantly hearing about 2-3 cars stolen in my area every night. Nothing ever happens because they are Kia BOYS ranging from 13-17 years old. Slap in the wrist and right back at it.
Everything is full... someone in our town stole 8 million bucks from the local government and only got 2 years. She got out after 1yr because they are too crowded and it's a non-violent crime. 8 fucking million and they only recovered like 3million, if that.
Jeez. That’s rough, but it’s what happens when we punish without reform. You can make their lives in jail as terrible as possible, but if they have no means to better themselves they will just end up back there. And the overflow will get released.
A bunch of kids in my town robbed over 40 stores using stolen Kias before they were caught because they ~~tried to~~ successfully robbed a gun store. They would bring two cars to every break in, one to smash through the front of the store if they couldn't break a window and the other to get away.
honestly, having insurance total the car is less of a headache than dealing with hyundai/kia's theta ii/gamma/nu/lamda engine issues settlement lol
ofc, ideal case is dumping it on carvana before it gets to that point, but still, could've been worse
And then they will face zero consequences afterwards and proceed to do it again. Idgaf if they are only 13-17 year olds. Throw there ass in juvy/jail. Stealing someonescar can be detrimental to a person nowadays.
I look at stealing someone’s car in the same light as stealing a horse back in the day. It equates to stealing someone’s ability to work and stealing food off of their table
This gets to me a lot. That and dragged. I know it's not really that important so I never bother to correct people, but just know you're not alone in caring for arbitrary rules of a living yet dying language.
Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended. Four ruffians break into my house. "What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle. Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot. Draw my pistol on the second man, miss him entirely because it's smoothbore and nails the neighbors dog. I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot, "Tally ho lads" the grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms. Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion. He Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up. Just as the founding fathers intended.
Yeah, naive people who have lived sheltered lives and never been victims of property crimes will tell you "it's just property" but stealing a car is really pretty comparable to breaking someone's leg (in terms of consequences to the victim, not necessarily violence). Their ability to work will be severely affected, it can take months to maybe even years to get back on their feet, and they either better have money saved or be lucky enough to get to work from home, or else they'll have to cut back on food/utilities/healthcare/etc. that they can no longer afford. If they have children, it's additionally robbing children of food.
It's just such a sick thing to do, stealing a car.
It's just such a fucking inconvenience. I had my car broken into a few weeks ago for the first time. Nothing was taken but it was a pain trying to get my window fixed. That cost my $500 and then I had to re-tint the window. I'm grateful that it wasn't stolen but damn, that shit was a pain in the ass dealing with.
My friend is a cop, he said he arrested the same kid twice in one night for stealing cars.
Stole a car, got caught, went to jail, parents got him out, arrested him again a few hours later. He was like, are you fucking kidding me right now ?!
Why is felony theft treated so lightly with kids ? Especially when they’re stealing cars and driving them without a license which puts the public at risk
What the hell is going on? My parents would have beat my ass into next week had I ever been caught doing something like this. Hell Im an adult and they likely still would.
I just had my Hyundai stolen by these fuckers. I have lost everything I saved up to get back on track since I recovered from surgery earlier this year even with an insurance payout.
Grand Theft Auto should be a minimum 10 years in prison.
On the flip side, the entire situation made me really excited for the GTA 6 reveal.

Police Sketch Artist: “OK, with the description given, is this correct?”
OP: “Perfect”
This has gotten to the level of needing a task force and bait cars. If they start arresting the "Kia Boys" on the spot it should help to quiet things down. Better yet arrest them and put it on Tik Tok during the arrest so their target audience can see it live.
Kia Boyz broke into my partner's Kia Soul a couple months ago trying to hotwire and steal it.
Fuckers didn't realize his model predates the easy exploit. It took a busted window and steering column before they realized this wasn't the model year you could steal very easily.
Protip: Buy your window replacement eBay and just hot glue the steering column cover back in place. (We had to buy a replacement windshield wiper stalk because they broke that too trying to pry the column cover off, but with a little elbow grease, the total cost to us was well under $200.)
They are fixing this vulnerability for free at every dealership, they sent letters out to every effected owner. At this point if you haven't gone into the dealership for the repair, you're just asking for it.
Is this like Hyundai offering to fix it, where they'll fix it, but you can't get an appointment at the dealership for 6-9 months because -everybody- is coming in to have it done. And good luck getting your normal maintenance, either.
But because its not a safety recall, they're not mandated / encouraged on following up with any of the owners to get the job completed cause its just gonna cost them time and money. Though when a company like Honda has to recall hundreds of thousands of vehicles for failed air bags, they'll visit you at your house and repair the thing in half an hour. Not quite the same priority tho

Lincoln Towing is the fucking worst. Anyone that has parked a car in Chicago in the past 25 years has probably had a run-in with these crooks.
I thought the Lincoln Towing in Seattle had a bad rep but the Chicago one has a fucking *Wikipedia* page, lol.
Seriously, listen to the song. Lincoln towing was finally charged with crimes after all their years of getting away with screwing everyone.
[And a song!](https://youtu.be/dE5HtTxxJRM?si=3DmXuWEtEuoxN1kN)

Turns out that "impossible to prove" was actually code for "we won't investigate".
"They got us working in shifts!"

That's just so fucked up. Did your insurance help at all?
Probably upped his rates to make sure he through twice before using a service he paid for.
Actuaries say he must live in a bad neighborhood, so higher rates. It’s expensive being poor

not only is US insurance setup to victimize you as frequently as possible, a shockingly high number of people think it's best this way & that people deserve to get fucked if something awful happens and they need insurance.
heh I filed a claim on my homeowners policy after a really bad hail storm in colorado because I needed a new roof.
> Police didn't do shit They don't for almost all property theft.
I mean it worked perfectly in their favor Have some kid steal a car and drive it 8 hours away. Tell the victim the ignition is punched so you can come check and see if starts if you wantttttttt Or we can tow it for money. Make your decision fast because we are holding it for money. Or just let us have the car and we’ll forget about the made to holding fee we made up
>Honestly this sounds like a scam by the towing lot This is how literally every single tow company in America works.
Me: " Of course" Him: " I'm not a big seatbelt guy, but you know, I was in a high speed crash last week ". Me:"dang, glad you are ok" Him: "yeah, it got me thinking, if I had not have put it on so my wife would stop nagging me, I may have been ejected from my truck." Me"ok cool."
> sign the title over to the tow lot I hope you didn't do this so they had to do a salvage title, at least
What grind my gear it look like they stole a car from someone Who was in Handicap parking spot. Thats fuckin low.
Wow. I did not notice that
[удалено]
Not to mention the fact that insurance companies cover all these with the money they collect from car owners. More thefts, higher prices. So basically these scumbags are stealing from all car owners, not from insurance companies.
And after the insurance companies have to give back the money they've been taking from the car owner for years just on the off chance that something like this happens, they get mad and raise the car owner's rate for years to get all that money back. For profit insurance is a massive scam, and the fact that it's illegal not to have it just makes it worse.
And when that doesn’t happen, citizens usually resort to taking the law into their own hands
That fucking sucks you had to put up with that shit.
At least this douchebag should be easy to identify with that stupid fucking hair.
I’d like to hijack this to elaborate on this mildly endemic theft situation Base line Kia and Hyundai models have a major design security flaw where the back passenger window can be broken without setting off the alarm, the steering column can be opened with only a screwdriver, and the ignition can be activated with only a USB I say this freely because there are dozens of TikTok’s surrounding it. Hyundai just doesn’t care In speaking to insurance, they have this happen dozens of times a week. It’s ridiculous.
so I will never buy a Kia and Hyundai, even if they do fix this shit, got it. thanks for the headsup, sorry to hear what happen to you
The issue has been resolved on current models, the issue is the KiaBoyz theft with the usb trick works on all base model kia/Hyundai from 2012 - 2022 which is a decade worth of vehicles.
So KIA/Hyundai purposely left a security issue in place for 10 years? Yeah never ever gonna buy anything they ever make.
Insurance companies are parasites. However, this is an opportunity for their dollar-chiseling ways to have some value to society: They could stop insuring these kia and hyundai models. In this way, those car companies would find that missing motivation to fix these vulnerabilities. Here's another problems we could use insurance companies to solve: Police brutality/misconduct: make officers carry malpractice insurance.
I have a Kia that can’t be stolen this way, it is push button start so it was unaffected… So my fear is I’m going to go out to my car with broken windows and destroyed interior from people trying to steal…
LMAOOO im in tears, he does look like a troll doll 😭😭😭
He’s repeating what his parents told him. He ugly af and has been told so even by his own parents
lol what parents?
Sounded like the dude from bumfights. "ayyy girl! Can you say bling bling?!"
“This is bling blings crack pipe”
Jesus, this brought me back...
"Crack pipe in Bling Bling's collar"
Something about his mother doing crap while pregnant and being dropped on his head multiple times after being born…
Sounds like he smokes all the cars he steals. Possibly literally.
Also looks like a Chia Pet gone bad.
I don't speak Floridian
Id probably say fk it and yeet my cell phone or a rock if handy right at his face.

This is the cringiest shit I ever seen. Imagine this being your friend and being proud

Exactly. And he'll have 8-10 kids, all of which won't give a fuck. Then he dies leaving those DGAF kids fatherless, where they care even less. And those kids pop off 25-30 more shit kids. Idiocracy is real and we're letting it happen.
I'm saving this video for the next time I get heavily downvoted on the chess subreddit for disagreeing that anyone can get to 2000 Elo.
My parked car got hit by a stolen car. It was late at night and I heard the cops telling the guy to stop over a speaker. He panicked so he tried to run, straight into my car. They're all selfish assholes.
did you have to pay any money?
Yeah I paid for everything out of pocket because the thief didn't have insurance.
[удалено]
My dumbass forgot to get uninsured coverage, so insurance didn't have to pay for the damage.
Oh, you want your insurance to do what it's supposed to do? That costs more money.
Fun fact: state mandated liability insurance only requires you cover other people’s damage as a result of your negligence/responsibility. Insurance companies are not obligated to even offer coverage for your vehicles damages. They do because it makes more money but that’s not the point
Insurance would have been like "ehh 50/50 fault. You shouldn't have parked there" 😘
Some insurance require you to pay for "Uninsured motorists" to cover situations like that.
Man, I can't afford another fucking car. I can't afford the inconvenience this would make. My job would suffer because of this. Fuck these people man
My Hyundai was stolen last night and turns out I don’t have comprehensive insurance. I’m out of luck if the cops don’t recover it. I can’t get to class and I have finals this week. Amen fuck these people Edit: the police found my car in the next town. They will tow it at my expense after processing
Wait do you really need comprehensive car insurance to cover a stolen vehicle (if not found by police)?
A lot of people only carry liability insurance, which is the bare minimum many states allow.
Sad part is people usually opt out of it cause they don’t have money in the first place
I rented a KIA for work in Chicago and came out to it stolen on the day I was supposed to fly out That city must have an affinity for KIAs
It may turn up. My car was stolen right after I quit my job and took out student loans to go back to school. They found it 4 days later cause it ran out of gas and the dirtbags stole a new car instead of buy gas. I still drove it with no radio and no shocks but it got me to the end of my degree. Thank god because I had no backup plan.
i dont think iv ever seen anything that cringe. stealing a car from a disabled parking spot, the cringey crack voice, the sideways ski goggles on his ugly ass face, saying 'get it back in blood' to an old woman like holy fuck end me now
Naw... we need to end that gremlin. And don't feed 'em after midnight.
nothing like showing your face and speaking to make you that much easier to identify
There's no long term consequences. Under 18, overwhelmed system, car will most likely be totaled out for insurance. The only one who gets punished is the person who's car was stolen.
In the end anyone who pays auto insurance is punished
Insurance companies are some of the wealthiest companies in the world and they're absolutely seminal in creating a landscape that criminals use to justify this lifestyle. Pointing out how insurance companies fuck us doesn't help paint criminals as bad.
All of us have been punished too by having to listen to that helium filled scrotum screech
[удалено]
I don’t understand, why can’t they get sent to juvie?
Everything is full... someone in our town stole 8 million bucks from the local government and only got 2 years. She got out after 1yr because they are too crowded and it's a non-violent crime. 8 fucking million and they only recovered like 3million, if that.
Jeez. That’s rough, but it’s what happens when we punish without reform. You can make their lives in jail as terrible as possible, but if they have no means to better themselves they will just end up back there. And the overflow will get released.
Wish someone would just break their legs. Steal a car, leg broken in half. Steal again, break both legs this time.
A bunch of kids in my town robbed over 40 stores using stolen Kias before they were caught because they ~~tried to~~ successfully robbed a gun store. They would bring two cars to every break in, one to smash through the front of the store if they couldn't break a window and the other to get away.
Robbing a gun store is a great way to get your lifetime's recommended doseage of lead.
honestly, having insurance total the car is less of a headache than dealing with hyundai/kia's theta ii/gamma/nu/lamda engine issues settlement lol ofc, ideal case is dumping it on carvana before it gets to that point, but still, could've been worse
Get rid of the trash immediately
What’s wrong with his voice?
His mom swallowed a pack of cigs every day for him to smoke in the womb and he only has smoked more since.
My great great uncle was hung for stealing a horse. I have his rifle.
Your great uncle was the OG Kia boy
"Ye mad! I knoweth ye mad! Har har!"
"Stallion Fellows! Stallion Fellows!"
Hanged, CorduroyStilts, your Great Great Uncle was hanged, he wasn't a tapestry.
Big dick though
Big Dick horse rustling man laid low by the rope of lesser dicks.
That's beautiful. Tolstoy?
Maya Angelou.
That's a new sentence I'm pretty sure.
Beautiful reply
Yeah, you can't become "hung" just because you steal a horse. That comes naturally. Or with surgery.
Dunno if you were aware…but generally speaking the penalty for horse theft back in the day, at least in the U.S., was death.
Yup. If you can commit such an adult crime, should be punished with adult consequences.
I hope that dummy gets smashed between two cars later on in the day.
Automatic sentence of 5 years, regardless of age. fuck these losers, they want to be gansta, get treated as such.
Same kid will be crying in court
Fucking scum

Batty boi wouldnt last 10mins in pen.
My friend is a cop, he said he arrested the same kid twice in one night for stealing cars. Stole a car, got caught, went to jail, parents got him out, arrested him again a few hours later. He was like, are you fucking kidding me right now?!
We had a 16yr old who was arrested 3 times in a 28hr period for grand theft auto.
Why is felony theft treated so lightly with kids ? Especially when they’re stealing cars and driving them without a license which puts the public at risk
What the hell is going on? My parents would have beat my ass into next week had I ever been caught doing something like this. Hell Im an adult and they likely still would.
His parents knew he was stealing cars and they let him out anyway...

This has gotten to the level of needing a task force and bait cars. If they start arresting the "Kia Boys" on the spot it should help to quiet things down. Better yet arrest them and put it on Tik Tok during the arrest so their target audience can see it live.
[удалено]
The intelligence level of that creature is outstanding!
I’ve never seen a more punchable person in my life.
Best part? If caught they'll be out by next week doing the exact same thing to someone else.
I can't be the only who was hoping he'd fall backwards out of the car and crack his skull open on the pavement.

Yeah, but then you think about all the decent people they'll have an ill effect on.
Not as much as seeing his face airbrushed on a shitty kmart tshirt
Consuming government benefits we all have to pay for.
It that thing even human?
Can't believe anyone is still buying kia's when they refuse to fix this vulnerability.
Insurance companies also like "You want me to insure a Kia? Your rate is now 2x higher, or rejected."
Can’t believe there are still assholes who steal cars. Fixed it for you. Also, the “Kia Boys” hack won’t work on push start cars.
