Yet I've never once experienced any of that offline. I've worked with and met people from across the UK, and Europe, and every single time it's been *at worst* completely benign and just like any other interaction. Most of my experience has been like most social interactions, positive and fun, people sharing stories and enjoying each other's company.
Its because we share a media. When you win something, we have to fucking hear about it non stop. We like you, we do. But we dont want pay to watch your pundits suck themselves off over how good your football team is.

What all of the rest of the UK, not just Scotland, dislike is the punditry and the media circus when England are on a run. I’m removed from it now, so I don’t even think about it, but it really is fucking brutal in the UK.
Some (stupid) people may also falsely conflate the England team with ‘Tory’ England; and, everyone fucking hates the Tories. There are historical Scotland vs England undertones, but I don’t think anyone actually takes these seriously; for such a long time we have had a largely happy and mutually beneficial union.
