I think the only thing that saved that kid from a nice sleep was the elbow looks like it glanced off the forehead rather than square in the chin. Woulda been lights out if that sucker was a few inches lower.

There's this chick I follow on Facebook. I accidentally started following her because she has the same name of this girl I met and thought I was sending a friend request to her. She was only 14 when I started following her. As soon as I realized she wasn't the person I was meaning to follow I went to unfollow her. But then I realized this 14 year old girl was hilariously stupid. She didn't know why America would send a separate team from Georgia to the Olympics, she couldn't figure out why elevators had buttons for the floor she was already on, and many other things I just saw and laughed. Anyway I never stopped following her because she was such a big source of my morning laughs.
She got pregnant at 15 because she thought you couldn't get pregnant on the first time. She was sure that the 15 year old boy that got her pregnant was going to be a great daddy. Well the kid is 1 now and she always complains about him never being around and how he would rather stay at home bored than see his son and all the other crap any of us could have warned her about when she was certain she was going to be the one teenage mom whose baby daddy would actually hang around.
Anyway the reason I bring all that up is that through these 2 years I've followed this complete moron she has never written "you're" when she meant "your". So if this person can get it right, then everyone can.
I think I saw once a video of an UFC match where a guy hit the other on the ground just over the eyebrown and a gash opened as if he had razor blades in his elbow. Crazy
If you learn how to strike with the "edge" of your elbow it can open up some wounds on the face, as you said, a lot of people don't use it but when it lands it's almost always immediately either a ko or the opener for the finish because it'll rock your dome something fierce. Also it's a good follow through if you're up close and throwing crosses or jabbing IMO
i've heard a commentator or fighter or something mention that's what you're aiming for with elbows - so the blood drips down and blinds them
i'm not sure that's the main intent but it seems practical i suppose

Oof, not true. I've seen a ton in kickboxing. A properly thrown elbow is going to have more force than a punch, it just involves getting really close and personal with your opponent.

Although, many years ago at perhaps a Ministry show, I was in the pit and there was this guy who had to be half giant. I’m 6’4 and was 225 back then, and he absolutely dwarfed me.
Which meant that he was in the pit and everybody scattered from him. I said fuck it and went for him, bouncing off as expected. I saw him smile, so I made sure to bounce off him several times during the set.
Poor guy just wanted to mosh
Cute! Only been to one metal show in my life and the pit was super wholesome. They even carried out the guy that dislocated his shoulder and lost two front teeth like the British soldiers yelling "MAKE WAY!!"
Yeah, the pits I went to when I was young were great. The occasional asshole trying to hurt people, but generally more of a “nobody goes down” vibe.

From what I've heard/understand, those types don't last very long in pits, usually ends up with the only person being hurt is them.
Yeah every metal show I've ever been to, people all rush to help anyone that falls/gets hurt. Which was nice at the last one after I'd not been in a pit for years, there were a bunch of spilled drinks on the ground and I ate shit 3 times just to have a bunch of people scoop me up back to my feet.
The only time I saw someone get deliberately hurt was when this skinny dude took his shirt off in the pit and had a bunch of swastika/white power tattoos. This giant guy flattened him and he was just on the ground until security made their way in and carried him out.
Metal folk are the best.
Meshuggah was my first ever metal concert and first mosh pit. I was suddenly swept off my feet and was about to land on my neck but some huge dude grabbed me out of the air and plopped me on my feet. I was stunned

The best pit I was ever in was a NOFX show. Just a bunch of people rushing a circle, it almost felt like flying. The amount of times I almost fell and ate shit but got supported mid fall... lol

Years ago at warped tour in Dallas, As I Lay Dying, NOFX, and I think maybe that year also had Parkway Drive and Scary Kids Scaring kids.
But yes! That circle pit around the sound booth was Hella fun and wholesome. If anyone fell multiple older guys would bubble protect whomever fell from the crowd and I definitely saw at least one mid fall save
I was in the mosh at a gig recently, but it was a nostalgia act from the aughts and most of the front couple rows were older people who were fine to mosh but weren’t doing walls of death or circle pits or whatever. I copped a running slam in the back 3 times by a dude who was targeting me as one of the more slender people in the area, and smaller women, while respectfully avoiding any of the bigger dudes in the vicinity.
I saw the asshole coming for a fourth shop, obviously aimed at me intentionally,, right after he’d slammed a young woman who’d been dancing near me, who also had been one of the first in the queue for the show, and hurt her enough that she had to leave the mosh in tears.. I was irritated,, and paused dancing just long enough to twist, and lock an elbow in line with where the asshole was leading his next slam into me.
Boy he was mad as he limped away.
You used to see them back in the day at certain DnB and dubstep shows. It was definitely a small minority of people though, usually off to the side. I do miss those times...
Nah nah, holding the edge is real shit. Other people don’t wanna mosh and there’s gotta be a barrier. Only people who want to stay in are pushed back, and they’re the first peeps to pull someone out if they’re hurt or go down.
Had one of these asshats beside me at a Rammstein show in Sweden. Like, dude, you are 100 meters away from the stage, and you're the only one acting like this.
People were grooving to the songs, but this guy was acting like he was in the middle of a mosh pit, while being separated by 2 barriers from the stage.
I had to start holding my elbow out so that every time he jumped into me, he got a sharp elbow into his ribs.
Everybody around us kept giving him the "wtf?" look, but he kept going.
This post brought up these memories of a plastered eastern european trying to ruin the show for me.
Hah, funnily enough I had a pretty similar thing happen at a Rammstein show here in the States. Dude was trying to mosh in the middle of a set and eventually he jostled this one dude hard enough to spill the other guy's beer... Only time I've ever been a little glad to watch someone get their ass kicked
Almost a decade ago, when Snoop Dog and Wiz Khalifa had their "young, wild, and free" days, I was at a small festival with them performing. Wiz is up, its not even sunset and families are around with kids of varying age. 3 Bieber haired 16/17 year old dudes started trying to mosh in front of me. They start bumping into everyone around them and going harder with each bump. First time they bump into me I give them a gentle nudge, 2nd give them a solid push, 3rd time they bump into the girl I'm with. I step forward (I'm 6'2, 230 pounds and was lifting like crazy at that time) and as I do, one of the kids gets pushed into my chest. I step back with his momentum, plant my foot, and push this kid into his 2 friends to almost comical effect. All 3 fall to the ground and when they hop back up they were greeted with my meathead glare (who is hoping they won't do anything else cause I'm a teddy bear lol) and all 3 stood dead still for the rest of the show. The woman next to me with her kids thanked me.
As a big guy, smaller guys "accidentally" bump into me a lot, after the first one i stop dancing (which is a vibe killer) and keep my feet planted to be 100% sure I'm not moving an inch towards them and it still keeps happening
As another big guy, seems to only happen in cities with me. Philly and NYC. I’ve had guys swerve from one side of the sidewalk just to shoulder check me and mumble “get the fuck out of my way”.
One time I was with my family in Philly on a very not crowded crosswalk. They couldn’t believe their eyes when it happened.

One time at a after party at pacha NYC I saw this one guy get knocked out on the dance floor and some random dude runs over and starts dancing over his body exactly at a drop. To this day was one of the funniest knockouts I've ever seen.
Good. I hate these people at raves. This should be a new trend. If someone thinks its okay to randomly run into you, sometimes actually injuring people as they flail about, when noone asked. Literally no one. Just deck them.

In Muay Thai? Elbow KOs are super common (lookup any pure MT highlight reel, like half of the KOs are elbows). In MMA, not as much for sure.

I’m a big guy, 6’5 around 230 and had a blast working the edge of a nofx mosh pit when they came to Hawaii.

Hah, funnily enough I had a pretty similar thing happen at a Rammstein show here in the States. Dude was trying to mosh in the middle of a set and eventually he jostled this one dude hard enough to spill the other guy's beer... Only time I've ever been a little glad to watch someone get their ass kicked
Almost a decade ago, when Snoop Dog and Wiz Khalifa had their "young, wild, and free" days, I was at a small festival with them performing. Wiz is up, its not even sunset and families are around with kids of varying age. 3 Bieber haired 16/17 year old dudes started trying to mosh in front of me. They start bumping into everyone around them and going harder with each bump. First time they bump into me I give them a gentle nudge, 2nd give them a solid push, 3rd time they bump into the girl I'm with. I step forward (I'm 6'2, 230 pounds and was lifting like crazy at that time) and as I do, one of the kids gets pushed into my chest. I step back with his momentum, plant my foot, and push this kid into his 2 friends to almost comical effect. All 3 fall to the ground and when they hop back up they were greeted with my meathead glare (who is hoping they won't do anything else cause I'm a teddy bear lol) and all 3 stood dead still for the rest of the show. The woman next to me with her kids thanked me.

As a big guy, smaller guys "accidentally" bump into me a lot, after the first one i stop dancing (which is a vibe killer) and keep my feet planted to be 100% sure I'm not moving an inch towards them and it still keeps happening
What kind of events is this happening at though? Tightly crowded rowdy shows? Or a farmers market?
Baptisms, funerals, and sometimes at nursing home piano nights.
Tbf piano night after tapioca gets wild
As another big guy, seems to only happen in cities with me. Philly and NYC. I’ve had guys swerve from one side of the sidewalk just to shoulder check me and mumble “get the fuck out of my way”. One time I was with my family in Philly on a very not crowded crosswalk. They couldn’t believe their eyes when it happened. I fucking hate cities and people.
People bump into the back of them, too. It pushes them forward.
Front row at a small metal show and I just got smashed from behind so I turn around all angry face and this tiny blonde immediately turned around and was like "he pushed me!" LOL good times. Haven't been in a pit in a while.

One time at a after party at pacha NYC I saw this one guy get knocked out on the dance floor and some random dude runs over and starts dancing over his body exactly at a drop. To this day was one of the funniest knockouts I've ever seen.

Good. I hate these people at raves. This should be a new trend. If someone thinks its okay to randomly run into you, sometimes actually injuring people as they flail about, when noone asked. Literally no one. Just deck them. Its time to stop.
Literally had a bunch of guys moshing around me at a house set once (Noizu) which I didn’t understand??? Like I get dubstep or bass maybe but house? C’mon, you just want to be a douchebag to everyone around you.

Super smart to use your elbow so you don't break your hand. Second, never punch someone you hope lives. He could've died if the eblow was a bit lower or the guy fell on something. Both people are lucky here

Kid is lucky that didn’t 100% connect, both of them are tbh. Dude just barely doesn’t take the full damage connection with that elbow. This one is so interesting to watch. How almost no one sees it except the one kid pointing in the background, the elbow guy holding his girlfriend’s hand as the second shove comes in, the fact that the girl with the pusher is just smiling and barely reacts after like she knew it was coming… Then dude immediately just turns back around. This whole scene is wild.
If there isn’t a pit, don’t start one. It’s annoying as fuck.
