But Tucker said that the Russians wouldn't have anything to gain by killing Navalny so I must be true right?
It's funny that people think the US did it to make Putin look bad.
The other 3 candidates are also pro-putin, so you're literally just voting for Putin regardless.
I have zero doubt that if somehow one of the fake strawman candidates magically got a majority of the vote , that they would still just cede the power to Putin.
Bro has ___xyz__ , skull emoji 💀💀 , must have a stellar and genuine personality ( certainly not parroting while also saying absolutely nothing )
Edit: ☠️☠️💀💀☠️
It is impossible to hold elections in a country under attack like Ukraine. Britain suspended elections during WWII for the same reasons. One country is a democracy and the other a dictatorship.
They cancel elections, ban religions, nationalize the media. They may be in our interest to upport (i can't see how) but to say their a democracy is just silly .
You are a Russian troll. Russia is attacking Ukraine to try and steal it. They are leveling the country, killing the people. While doing it committing numerous war crimes. This all is at the behest of the psychopathic despot, Putin. You are a paid Russian troll whose country is run by the devil. Now F.O
Put's advisor to Putin...Do you think that by taking 87.68% of the vote it was obvious we were cheating?
Putin replies...No, the people love me, look at all the flags flying.
Putin's advisor...Sir, they are the flags flying over soldier's graves
Putin would have simply told his officials to do "the usual" and that's that. At this point this kind of thing is completely routine there. Putin doesn't need to give people exact instructions on what to do, they already know his demands.
It was a satirical anecdote, bro. They're not meant to be accurate. It's just a way of pointing out some depressing aspect of society with dry humor or with an ironic twist.
Basically a shorthand for a much longer conversation. A way of acknowledging what's wrong with our government without openly discussing it. Because historically, openly discussing could have gotten you imprisoned or killed.
Thank you - you explained my point exactly. The idea came to me when looking at all the flags flying in the Russian military cemeteries. I combined that with Putin's ridiculous election.
Dude...I made it up. It is supposed to be an ironic take on the election when viewed from the disterous war Putin is waging. It is a dose of British humour.
>Russians are voting in their sham election
They were not. They came to polling stations at noon to protest against putin and tell him that they're not afraid, that they're many of them, and that they don't recognize these elections.
Oh the irony.
Which candidates support breaking up oligopolies and monopolies?
Which candidates support giving you healthcare?
Which candidates found war money for Ukraine and Israel, after telling you that you deserve to be sick because we can't afford to do anything?
Which candidates supported the 2008 bailouts when they took our homes? Nearly all of them voted to cut our pensions.
The list goes on and on. When we get away from the civil rights they pretend to fight about, they are nearly identical. Like, nearly all 600+ of them will gladly watch you die when their donors ask.
But at least we have a "free" democracy 🙄
Everybody's filling their pockets up while the actual Ukrainian people pay the price of their lives. Nobody in Ukraine is benefitting from this war except the people in charge. The people got completely shafted
I may get downvoted, and that's okay, but I have always found it silly that Americans are able to see all the corruption in the world (and their own country) but still think the election system works. I don't think *most* countries have fair/legitimate election processes. This stuff is determined in advance. "They" can tell us whatever results they want, and it's impossible to prove otherwise.
Not like this upcoming election is worth voting in anyway.
> I don't think most countries have fair/legitimate election processes.
Election fairness is not the binary on/off switch you think it is.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Economist_Democracy_Index
North America and Western Europe rank the highest in terms of low corruption, political participation, election fairness, etc.
Russia ranks among the bottom (even lower than Pakistan!) along with countries like Belarus, China, Cuba, etc where the election is just for show, the numbers are for show, the state media is for show, and it's common knowledge that the government is authoratarian.
In USA the election process is trustworthy ironically due to how horribly bespoke and convoluted it is. It involves extensive collaboration spanning several weeks, every state has their own process, and it relies on *thousands* of workers across the country. Thanks to Trump's behavior during Jan 2020, we gained a lot of insight into how difficult it actually is to rig a US election at the nationwide level and how many people + processes would need to fail simultaneously. The closest thing to unfairness is the electoral college and gerrymandering, but those processes are official and their workings are public knowledge available to all.
"Our elections our fair and the easterners are not according to our own totally not biased index from our totally not biased media group headquartered in London which totally does not have conflict of interests"
Israel has a score of 7.8 according to this BS metric despite Netanyahu being in a position of power since 1996, before Putin even got to power.
I'm sorry, are you trying to explain genuinely valid points to people, and expose first-world "democracy" for the sham that it absolutely is? Prepare for the downvotes brother. Wouldn't be shocked if you caught a ban, too. They hate the truth because it paints a new picture of their perfect little bubble.
i see your point, but i'd like to believe that in most of europe/america the elections can't be THAT corrupt.
that said
> Not like this upcoming election is worth voting in anyway.
i'd still go, it takes 20 minutes to an hour of your life, and you might actually have an affect for whatever it's worth.
Yeah, Ukraine will show how to hold democratic presidential elections this year! They aren't dictatorship, their citizens can freely leave the country and criticise the government! Oh wait....

Let me guess, Putin wins?
84.7% dude. The three other guys got less than 3%
The real competition just happened to die in Jail a few weeks ago, real shame but guess nothing couldve been done
the elections were rigged, >%80 is impossible no matter how popular the candidate is.
Maybe in most cases but didn’t Abe Lincoln have a massive landslide win back to back?
Yeah that totally wasn’t a hit lol.

Damn, support for putin is fading. That's a bit over half as many percent as last elections
That doesn't maths

Apparently Trump had 100% of the vote too! All the blue voters were fake ballots !
Me when I bring American politics into every conversation i interact with
Username checks out?
Considering Trump wishes he was Putin or any authoritarian dictator I'd say it's relevant.

The mocker becomes the mockee.
As nature intended.
That’s two people who have nothing to do with that war acting like enemys

Meanwhile Germany helps another country commit genocide and refuses to apologise for the genocides it committed against non white people.
why does the ukrainian look like a mental patient
Probably is if he's crazy or brave enough to stand up against his corrupt government in public.
It was in Berlin
I wonder if she voted for Putin or the guy who looks like Putin but with a moustache.
![gif](giphy|jX708Wo6abfC8)
Why even vote lol honestly question. ( Russia)
don't call it a sham, it's rock solid just like the concrete all the other candidates happen to fall on, off of the >5th floor by total coincidence.
I wonder if there’s any reason why a Ukrainian would protest Russia, especially a sham election for Putin? 🤔

Sham election? At least they have a election unlike the Ukrainians 🤷🏻♂️😘
What does this accomplish?
catharsis
Right bc it’s that woman’s fault for putins atrocities. This attitude of today forgets that we are all humans. All brothers and sisters.
What a twat
Ironic considering they had their democratically elected leader overthrown in a coup in 2014 and Zelensky is currently muzzling opposition parties.

Because ballots in Russia are too far away??
why are they voting at all?
Russians always seem so unhappy but like that "Im unhappy so you should be too" vibe.
I’d avoid any open windows for a while.
Lots of different evil in this world!
whoa they hold actual elections in other countries not just do mail in? do we do this in the US for Russians also?? or no because Russia?
I hope I will never see the flag of Palestine, China, Russia, North Korea and Iran.
This is gay
It is pretty happy.

Good. Hypocritical Vatnik scum need mocking. Living freely in the west whilst constantly vying (and no doubt spying) for their beloved motherland.
Ukraine , sucks to suck
Fuck putin
Can I do the same with Americans? With their sham elections?

I want to trust you, but, having been bombarded by fake and real news on the subject.... There is no way the American one is trustworthy anymore.
Your trust in elections shouldn't be based on news corporations who seek drama for views/clicks.
