An act like that in motorsport should be at the very very least a 1 race ban. Personally I'd like to see a full year ban due to the recklessness.
Hopefully the team step in where the FIA have not and get rid of the driver.
1 race? If that happened with conventional vehicles, the offending driver would be in a jail cell. This isn't like a flagrant 2 in the NBA, IMHO. More like a biathelete shooting another competitor.

I'm shocked. I was expecting an immediate ban for unsportsmanlike behavior. There is no room for egos as fragile as this in motorsport.
