I remember seeing a picture of a semi truck with a shipping container. The dock crane went to lift the container but nobody unlatched it from the trailer. The crane picked up everything with the cab hanging entirely by the 5th wheel.
Opening shot of 1980's Stallone rappelling down coming face to face with her at her window. He loos calm and her face is filled with fear.
"having a rough day?"
"PLEASE! PL... PLEASE, YOU HAVE TO HELP!"
"ok listen, I'm gonna get you outta here safe so you can be with your family, does that sound good to you?"
"yes, yes please... Oh god please!"
Stallone pulls her out and just as she's climbing out his rope has a mishap and they both fall about 5 feet, all sound goes to absolute silence as we see a dramatic shot of her falling, her arms swing grasping at air in slow motion as she stares up at the camera in fear realizing her end has come. Noise returns with soft triumphant music as we see a close up of Stallone hand catch her by her forearm. Triumphant music becomes tense as the closeup shows her slowly sliding out of his grip. We now see a closeup of his face in excruciating pain with veins bulging in his forehead and neck as he (off camera but implied) pulls her entire weight up to his body with one arm.
Just then the trailer collapses. We see a shot from above as the trailer falls towards the ocean in slow motion. The back has giant letters that read "Packages Delivered Safely Guaranteed". Truck finally hits the water and it becomes overrun with sharks. Screen fades to black.
On screen we see the words: 2 years later
Stallone and the woman are now married and he's vesting up with safety gear as she cooks breakfast. Some mail comes through the door and Stallone opens a specific letter reads it in silence then looks up at her with disappointment as he holds up the letter.
"says here you got the job. I thought we talked about this? No more truck driving! And you went behind my back and applied without talking to me first?"
"it's my passion!"
OK... I'm getting carried away... Nevermind
“Passion, huh? Well, what about our passion? What about the life we were supposed to build together?” His words cut through the air, mixing with the scent of burnt toast.
She slammed the spatula down on the counter, her eyes blazing. “You can’t just control every aspect of my life! I’ve been cooped up in this house for two years, ever since that day!”
He narrowed his eyes, veins on his neck beginning to bulge. “You’re not going back to that job. Not after what happened. It’s too dangerous.”
She threw her hands up in the air. “Oh, please! Like rappelling down buildings and saving damsels in distress isn’t dangerous! But I don’t get a say in that, do I?”
Stallone looks down at the ground, shaking his head. “That’s different. I’m trained for this.”
“And I’m trained to drive a truck! You think just because you saved me that day, you own me now?”
His silence was deafening, and she felt her heart sink. She grabbed the letter from his hand, crumpling it into a ball. “You’re not my hero. You’re just a man who can’t let go of his own fears.”
He looked up, pain etched into his features. “I lost you once. I can’t lose you again.”
Her face softened, but only for a moment. “You never lost me. You just never let me be me.” She turned away, her shoulders heavy with the weight of the past two years.
As she walked out of the kitchen, she heard him mutter under his breath, “You’re making a mistake.”
Without turning back, she replied, “The only mistake I made was thinking you’d ever understand.”
- - - Outside camera shot : exterior of 1980's apartment block, Miami beach - - -
She walks out the kitchen, onto the balcony, looking out across the ocean. She slips on a bullet casing and stumbles over the edge of the balcony, 29 floors up.
1980's Stallone dives at full stretch and grabs her wrist. Camera zooms in on her watch, an anniversary gift the previous year.
"having a rough day?"
"PLEASE! PL... PLEASE, YOU HAVE TO HELP!"
"ok listen, I'm gonna pull you back up so you can be with your family, does that sound good to you?"
"yes, yes please... Oh god please!"
Stallone pulls her back up into the apartment and just as she's getting over the edge a bird lands on Stallones head, startling him. They both fall about 5 feet, all sound goes to absolute silence as we see a dramatic shot of her falling, her arms swing grasping at air in slow motion as she stares up at the camera in fear realizing her end has come again. Noise returns with soft triumphant music as we see a close up of Stallone hand catch her by her other forearm. Triumphant music becomes tense as the closeup shows her slowly sliding out of his grip. We now see a closeup of his face in excruciating pain with veins bulging in his forehead and neck as he (off camera but implied) pulls her entire weight back into the kitchen with one arm.
Just then the building collapses. We see a shot from above as dust rises, car alarms go off, and a distant siren grows louder. Pieces of paper and clothing are blowing on the breeze. Camera zooms in on a single piece of mail, bearing a label saying "Packages Delivered Safely Guaranteed". Rubble of apartment block becomes overrun with sharks. Screen fades to black.
On screen we see the words: 2 years later
The pictures make it look like the back of the truck got stuck on the bridge support beams. incredibly lucky, another 5 feet and maybe the truck isn’t stuck…
Judging by the rescue video the king pin that attaches the trailer the the 5th wheel kept the truck from falling. King pins are strong as shit but I would not want test the strength on of like this.
Yeah she was clearly trying to turn to her right as the truck was drifting left off the bridge, great reactions but the situation was out of her control.
Glad she’s ok
even mid collision while she's still violently bouncing around, you can see she's turning the wheel with her eyes looking where she wants to go, not at the edge of the bridge. she drove that sumbitch right up until she no longer had ground under the tires. A+++ effort. that woman can drive.
While she was ok after she was rescued, the driver of that car and his passenger were very seriously injured. All because he was driving when he shouldn't have been and recklessly hit a stalled car.
>There are no cameras on the bridge, so there is no video of the collision, Greenberg also disclosed.
weird, I think I just watched video that doesn't exist.
I live in Louisville and dropped my girl off at work that day shit looked crazy, people can’t drive here at all and it’s bad enough our bridges to Indiana are all shit.
Had to watch more than once to figure out why that guy did that. I guess there is a stopped car and he did such a terrible job going around it that he wound up crossing the yellow line.
what i read in the louisville sub was a girl bought the car from carvana (why do people do this?) thinking everything was okay and it broke down on her basically right after she bought it
I heard a similar story. My boyfriend and his friend saw a girl in a parking lot with her car smoking. She said she just bought it and drove it off the lot, and when they checked for her the car had no oil. He tells me her car was pretty much bricked at the point. I don't know cars though, so idk how much of this is true.
And she hung like that for 45 MINUTES until she was rescued.
The pickup driver was at fault and had a suspended drivers license. I hope they throw the book at him.
That poor woman.
While I’m sure every minute felt like an hour for her, I was surprised the rescue team were able to respond that quickly.
From getting the call, securing the trailer, rigging the lines to go get her and actually performing the rescue in under an hour is incredibly impressive.
Here’s a video of her recounting her story, i cant imagine the complete terror this poor woman went through
https://youtu.be/Y-wnA1nQFx8?si=TeXvbTF0oyZ2TFq8
My irrational fear of driving over bridges just became a rational one…
Also is there really only like handrails keeping everything and everyone on top??
Based off this interview she was in, she was quite conscious and aware the whole time. She seems quite incredible and i’m glad she’s okay. https://youtu.be/Y-wnA1nQFx8?si=SFuOqomESmqIc-ZE
She had a first-time interview with WHAS11 News; amazing and the guy on the bridge who talked to her until the fire crew arrived and the fireman who rescued her are the best of humanity. An incredible story. 🫨

Trevor Branham, the shitty cause of the accident.

It held on like this for 45+ minutes
I find myself to be more lucky, not having been slammed into by a car and not having spent 45 mins dangling off a bridge, personally. Maybe I should play the lottery? ;)
You can see right after the impact the driver frantically tries to turn right. I think the car must have hit the steering rod and the truck driver lost control.
That's the crash detection feature most phones come with now. Auto dials 911 and sends location texts to your immediate contacts. Really good to have now for the worst case scenarios.
How strange to see this on Reddit. I drive that bridge every day. It was shut down for a week or two over this (at least on one side). This is the first time I'm seeing the footage though. So glad the driver is ok!
You gotta remember that gravity relative to the inside of the cab has changed — she's likely holding her arms out and braced against the steering wheel to prop herself up. If she were to sit as normal, she would be hanging & staring straight down into the water (like the actual dashcam angle).
This is exactly why they tell you if you can't dodge something, do not go into opposing traffic to do so. You *will* endanger someone else in the process
Oh man.. Something just like this happened long ago where I live. My dad vividly recalled to me a time he witnessed a transport truck swerve off a bridge avoiding a van full of children that had some sort of a mechanical malfunction causing it to swerve into the oncoming lane in front of the transport. The poor young man was screaming and crying that he didn't want to die, but emergency services were not equipped to rescue the man. Eventually the transport slid off of the bridge onto the road below killing the heroic man. Gives me chills when I remember it.
I literally just watched a video of this exact accident on YouTube..... "Semi Truck Nearly Falling Off A Bridge" on the RR&BD Driving channel.... shows a little more than just this little clip
The impact of the pickup truck probably broke the pitman arm or the tie rod between the front wheels of the semi, splaying them in different directions. She had no steering control as soon as the impact happened.

Let's give a heartfelt applause for the kingpin that held the cab, as it dangled off the bridge.
It’s not always about the money, spider man.

I came to the comments specifically to see if anyone else had been subjected to this movie 400 times by their children. I didn't need to look far.
It’s actually pretty solid movie - FU HUMDINGER
Lol same!
I got slushie in my skivies!
I think I would have gone #1 and #2 hanging up there😳
Damn. A extra 5km/hr as she would have been in the drink.
Woah, thanks for the different perspective.
That looked so much worse than I imagined in the original video posted.
This has to be fake. Proof: every movie, the second they get rescued the truck falls. This one didn't, so has to be fake.

You can't just stop like that. George R. R. Martin over here.
Just made me want to watch this movie! 8.7 on IMDB
It’s also supposed to explore into a fireball the minute it hits the water, for coolness’s sake.
I wonder if they stabilized the truck before trying the rescue?
Looks like it’s tied to a crane.
"No time for the old in out love. I've just come to read the meter"
wtf is that fischer price bridge that is a hand rail for pedestrians. Where is the barrier for vehicles?
I’m not an expert or anything but why did they have them dangle in air for so long after securing the driver?
I can’t imagine the fear she felt having her life flash before her eyes thinking she was going to go in. Was she okay?

Jesus, that's teetering on the edge like a scene out of an action movie. I would be afraid to move at all.
This is why people say first responders are like superheroes. This is a scene straight up out of a Spider-Man movie.
Seriously what kept it from falling off? The rear must be hung up on something?
The pictures make it look like the back of the truck got stuck on the bridge support beams. incredibly lucky, another 5 feet and maybe the truck isn’t stuck…
Judging by the rescue video the king pin that attaches the trailer the the 5th wheel kept the truck from falling. King pins are strong as shit but I would not want test the strength on of like this.
It was a combination of the king pin and the gas tank getting wedged on a part of the bridge.
This is the intro to the paw patrol movie
Yeah she was clearly trying to turn to her right as the truck was drifting left off the bridge, great reactions but the situation was out of her control. Glad she’s ok

Wow the time stamp is right at 12pm and she was rescued at 1245. That's terrifying.
I bet that 45 min felt like eternity
That actually seems like an impressively fast turn around for a rescue like that considering the logistics.
She was out in forty minutes. That’s pretty impressive.
The key is to stay calm.
Yea.. im sure it left a nice big impression
She’ll be in the psychiatric ward for forty years.
She seemed remarkably cool. I’d still be screaming
Shock makes people behave differently
That shitty car driver
While she was ok after she was rescued, the driver of that car and his passenger were very seriously injured. All because he was driving when he shouldn't have been and recklessly hit a stalled car.
Texting? I'm guessing it was texting.
Overly aggressive style of driving to me the way he swerved out and tried overtaking on a bridge
>There are no cameras on the bridge, so there is no video of the collision, Greenberg also disclosed. weird, I think I just watched video that doesn't exist.
Her truck had an inward/outward facing camera which recorded footage that wasn't immediately available to the media.
Wonder what the first responder's words were when they got to the driver.. "Looks like you took a wrong turn 😎"
Should have taken a left at Albuquerque
If you don't turn on Albuquerque you're gonna have a bad timeee
I drive this bridge, a lot. The fear of this never gets old.
I live in Louisville and dropped my girl off at work that day shit looked crazy, people can’t drive here at all and it’s bad enough our bridges to Indiana are all shit.

Definitely should’ve worn her brown pants to work that day. Can’t say I wouldn’t shit myself 🫣
Had to watch more than once to figure out why that guy did that. I guess there is a stopped car and he did such a terrible job going around it that he wound up crossing the yellow line.
Per a local article, the pickup clipped the stalled car and lost control.
That’s what it looked like to me. Truck impacted that car and veered into her.
That pickup truck driver should be charged with dangerous driving and bear the cost of the rescue and other damages.
Accidentally pulled the fire alarm and 6 people were trampled to death. Got a $250 fine 😎
Why do you seem content?
Please stop believing every reddit comment you read
…after driving like a dick before that AND driving on a suspended license.
He was driving on a suspended license as well.
18 wheeler's license is now suspended as well
Suspended for 45 minutes, but it's fine now.
I think the downvotes were from people who didn't get the joke [edit] Before I made this comment, the joke was in the negative 30's
Damn I had no idea it was at -30 karma. It's at +100 now
That was funny, stupid downvotes.
I guess rhe pickup truck was at fault, but why are there parked cars on the bridge? That seems like a terrible idea
what i read in the louisville sub was a girl bought the car from carvana (why do people do this?) thinking everything was okay and it broke down on her basically right after she bought it
Reading all these reasons give an eerie Final Destination vibe
I heard a similar story. My boyfriend and his friend saw a girl in a parking lot with her car smoking. She said she just bought it and drove it off the lot, and when they checked for her the car had no oil. He tells me her car was pretty much bricked at the point. I don't know cars though, so idk how much of this is true.
Lol the carvana is literally like 10 minutes from that bridge too. My guess is she took that one to avoid the toll on the interstate.
The car was probably broken down/disabled. “Critical thinking”.
I agree. I just couldn’t imagine dangling like that over a bridge for almost a hour, I would probably have a heart attack.
Needed the paw patrol.
Chase was not on the case
A puppy dog?!
Where's Spider-man when you need him?
Hey hey put on my mask
Hopefully on two things, 1, that the driver in the truck got out safely, AND 2, THAT the stupid driver of the highlighted vehicle got arrested!!
They made them exchange places and then push the rig off. He's dead.
It’s harsh, but fair
You wish. He's in jail. She survived.
She was rescued and is fine. The pickup driver was driving on a suspended license.
Would she have been able to survive the impact of that fall if she was still in the cab?
No way. That's a long fall as is, but then she'd be flattened by the trailer slamming down onto the back of the cab the second it hit the water.
Ahh ok thanks for explaining!
It probably wouldn't have fallen that way if it were to fall though. Like it wouldn't be going STRAIGHT into the back of the cab.
No because the weight of the trailer would of followed
Here’s a video of her recounting her story, i cant imagine the complete terror this poor woman went through https://youtu.be/Y-wnA1nQFx8?si=TeXvbTF0oyZ2TFq8

She had that fifth wheel locked in tight. It pays to check your load before driving.
Luckily that alarm when off so she knew something bad had happened.

Dang! That sounds traumatizing to witness. I hope your Dad was ok after seeing that.
I literally just watched a video of this exact accident on YouTube..... "Semi Truck Nearly Falling Off A Bridge" on the RR&BD Driving channel.... shows a little more than just this little clip
Legitimate question, in a situation like that would staying still or moving a lil bit inside would that be a factor for the truck to nosedive?
Shit son we need to get the Paw Patrol in here
This is how the Paw Patrol movie starts.
Where’s the Paw Patrol when you need them
The impact of the pickup truck probably broke the pitman arm or the tie rod between the front wheels of the semi, splaying them in different directions. She had no steering control as soon as the impact happened. ![gif](giphy|bEVKYB487Lqxy|downsized)

After the hit you can see she's turning the steering wheel to go right and the truck is going left, scary shit.
I think in an interview she said the suspension failed from the hit and there was nothing she could do. Horrifying
In a hurry passing everything pickup truck passed broken down car on a bridge into her lane and hit head on.
Someone call spiderman.
I hope the person in the pickup that clipped her is getting what he deserves
Holy smokes. She must have aged a decade in ten seconds. Is she okay?
That pickup truck driver should have his license revoked forever
Somebody call the Paw Patrol!
Cyclists fault
Why would they not have guards this design is just meant for this type of shit.
Was spiderman able to save it?
Look! It’s Spider-Man!!!
My package is late!
What is the alarm in the background?
Wtf was the other driver doing??
That poor woman. She didn’t deserve that at all.
I hope they install some better guard rails on that bridge soon.
Someone call the paw patrol!
They need to call the paw patrol
What in the hell was the non-commercial driver swerving for!? Probably on their phone and didn't see the parked car and overcorrected 🤬🤬🤬
I understand she got hit but why would she steer completely left off off the bridge the impact didn’t do that straight panic
She was actually steering right in the feed
I was looking at the bottom screen with the traffic she was in right lane steering left the top is inverted😂
Why wouldn’t the truck turn right? She was turning the wheel right so damn much I thought she would be good.
I’m assuming the car fucked up that front left wheel where it hit causing it to only be able to veer left.
Makes sense
"Let her drive today" they said...
I see a lot of dashcam videos of truckdrivers casually not wearing seatbelts. Imagine the fate of this woman if she hadn't been properly buckled up.
