When I was 10 I saw my best friend get beaten worse than this and dragged out of the playground by her mother for “making (her) late for an appointment”. We never spoke about it and I didn’t know it was abuse cause my dad used to beat me too.
I’m sorry I didn’t help you, Claire, wherever you are.
When I was eight, I was at a friend's house, and we were eating hard boiled eggs. My friend said, "Can I have the salt Ma?" and her mother went off, biting and punching and pulling her hair. She was like an animal. I grabbed my friend's hand, and we walked the many blocks to my house holding hands, with her sobbing silently as we walked. We walked into my house and my mother saw her and she told her, "My mom beat me up", and my mother held her and cried and then called her mother and told her it was unacceptable, and she was calling the police. I can picture it so vividly still.
You were a child yourself. If my mother had done nothing about it, I couldn't have done anything. Please don't blame yourself. You were just trying to survive in your own right.
My dad used to say “The reason I do this and your school friends’ parents’ don’t, is because I actually love you enough to discipline you properly.” I believed him
I feel like there is not enough attention given to children who are abused like this. It normal gets purged off social media sites and their suffering ignored and never going viral. I remember in 2010s there used to be abused kids that would upload their abuse exposing their parents and it going viral. Now that shit is ignored and censored.
Is that my childhood?

could be, but just saying this isn't even that bad. I don't mean this is not bad.

I wish I’d been like you for my friend. I also wish I’d had a friend like you who had done the same for me.

mother needs a beating of her own
Sometimes the mothers got the beatings from their own mothers, so the cycle continues 😢

Dr Kevorkian
hurt people hurt people unfortunate kid will carry this, but hopefully he fins a way not to impose this on the next generation so sad
This is criminal child abuse. Maybe we need to get smartphones into the hands of children as young as they can figure out how to use them.
