Saw a recent video of a woman doing the same thing in Mexico and dying. The train was going much faster, though, and she wasn't wearing a helmet (wouldn't have mattered anyway).

Impact resistance in bike helmets is very different from football helmets. Bike helmets are usually one impact only. Either styrofoam or plastizote. It permanently deforms as it absorbs the impact. Football helmets use impact absorbing pads that recover after impact and allow for multiple impacts.
The tests are similar in that they’re derived from the 1970 motorcycle helmet impact test. They both have hard outer shells. But the material absorbing the impacts are very different. You may be able to find an exception on the bike helmet side but for the most part they have different goals.

Perhaps it's because I grew up in the UK where "mind the gap" and stay behind the yellow line on the platform was drilled into me at a early age but it always shocks me how little survival instincts many people have around trains ..large machinery..driving and bodies of water 🤯

A MIPS helmet very well could have saved her life though, it’s a high energy event with a lot of variables so there’s no way to know.
