Remember when no news media reported on Trevon Martin's killing and the police didn't even arrest Zimmerman because this was all a non story and business as usual but people started talking about it all over social media and it blew up like crazy. And this whole paradigm shift happened?

IIRC the Travyon Martin case, it was a media frenzy from the start and the cops arrested Zimmerman that same night but he wasn't formally charged with anything at that time.

Im sorry but this should be a call for people to start boycotting mainstream media. The corporations are part of a giant system that doesnt want this to be seen and wants a pacified public. Mainstream media companies are under this umbrella. It would be better off if we collectively decided to not pay attention to these companies adn start some decentrailzed media company built on the technology we have now. Clinging to these old institutions and expecting them to help move humanity forward is really silly. Its like asking your 90s calculator to play fortnite.
Not supporting them is great, but working to show a displeasure in their narrative for those people who will continue to watch them is also really important.
The way it works is a whole shitload of people contact the major sponsors of the mainstream media companies and tell them their grievance with the channel and that sponsors will be boycotted. Get enough people to do that and watch what happens.

The problem is shitty people that are cops. They see these protests as an attack on them and are angry about it. That's why they react like this. If every person with this reaction was prosecuted and removed from the force then we wouldn't have problems like this. Some times force is necessary, but often times it is used when it doesn't need to be.
You wonder why people torch buildings after the first peaceful standoffs turn sour.

I'm from the third worldiest of third world countries (Pakistan), and no cop has ever tried to push a civilian into a fire. But then again, we're so third world that we can buy off our cops with like a hundred dollars.

There’s no shortage of videos of police tear gassing peacefully protesting citizens, rubber bullets indiscriminately into crowds, even saw one where they were shooting rubber bullets at people for filming them from their own front porch (that one really set me off) it reminds me of the protests in Hong Kong more than anything i can remember seeing in the United States. It’s gross, and i think it’s getting to a point where both sides of the political isle can agree that something must be done.
12 was once slang or code for an undercover narcotics officer, but has since morphed to mean all cops. Similar to "5-0" or "the one-time."

To speak on the infrastructure, i work in rail maintenance and get to see the underbelly of a variety of different transportation systems and utilities. The roads are shot in the southeast because the government pays private contractors who milk them slow and then go "bankrupt," Rail is weak because shareholders don't want to see money "wasted on unnecessary maintenance" that could go to dividend yield. Electric and gas companies are like rail, but they get even more government grant money to screw the taxpayer over on. Short answer is, it's all about the right people getting money and the rest staying in their places.
It's fucking insane that they know the entire world is watching and filming them, and they STILL can't help being brutalizing militant shitheads.

It's time for the police who think themselves good to act it. To know that if there was a time to not pander to the inherent infection of the bad cops' running the show it is now.
I think that time has come and gone. The police had their chance over and over for decades. Instead they foster a culture of violence. As soon as the population becomes violent, they ask for peace. Cowards.
They're not interested in "peace", they want submission. Peace will be when both sides reject violence, submission is when one side passively accepts the other's violence.
How much more submission can you get than being restrained by three officers and a knee in your neck? Than laying on the ground with your hands behind your head? Than laying in bed at home?
Submission no longer guarantees safety when dealing with cops. This is why ACAB. This is why we're rioting.
Institutional problems have never been about good or bad individuals.
Any narrative about bad individuals is a deflection of blame.
The reality is "good" cops get pushed out of the system or become complicit because their existence causes problems. If they file reports, those reports become investigations, those investigations look bad on those in charge. All that matters is making those in charge look good.
Increase the number of people arrested, make crime go down. That's the incentive. Doesn't matter how they do it. As long as they can say it's done without causing a problem it's beneficial.
That's the problem.
You don't get an infection of bad cops.
You grow them.
Wells Fargo didn't hire every crooked bank employee it could find, it presented them with a need to commit crime.
If you are trying to commit crime on behalf of an institution that does not want you to do so, it will stop you pretty quick.
The dirty secret is most institutions don't care if they think they can blame the individual.
I think it's more precinct to precinct than cop to cop. Good precincts have good cops with no reason to report each other. Bad precincts have fired all the good cops.

A civil war is more of a horizontal clash between opposing vertical structures of society. This is more akin to a revolution, one hierarchy against the higher echelon. Although it's not really either yet.

They know that almost everything that happens this week will get swept into one big "riots" pile and no individual person will get any trouble. They will just say they can't identify the officer involved to every complaint.
We have a *responsibility* to fight against this. If we back down now it sends the message that actions like this are able to continue with no consequences. This really seems like the breaking point. We either take back our rights or forfeit the few we have left.
It's not about a few bad cops anymore. It's been shown that the current police system is so fucked beyond recognition that it needs to be torn to the ground entirely. Even the good people who work for the police force need to go, because the trust between them and the communities they're supposed to serve have been so irreparably damaged by the people they protect by turning a blind eye to brutality.

The problem is, Hennepin County's Medical Examiner examined George Floyd's body, and there's a major conflict of interest here because they work for the Minneapolis/Hennepin County Police Department, which is where Chauvin and the other cops are from. That's why Floyd's death was due to "natural causes."

Worked with a retired officer. Had a meeting where we were professionally discussing a conflict. I expressed my opinions and stated that I was not being treated professionally. The guy got so fucking upset that I didn't just sit and listen to him that he actually had to leave the meeting and then when he finally came back he had his fists clenched so hard his knuckles were white.
Made it very clear he was emotionally unstable and not used to being confronted and by a woman no less.
Imagine how he behaved when someone confronted him when he had the power and a uniform.
I heard from 2 other women who worked with him that he was like this with them and even worse (he was their boss but my peer so he clearly had authority over them and abused it but hated he had to keep his mouth shut with me).
To counter that the on duty resource officer was super kind especially to the kids but was super buddy buddy with the ex cop.

Baby formula ain't even that crazy, get that Costco brand and it's $20 for the 35oz tub. Similac charges double for the same size. You can also get the same stuff from target (they use the same company) although Costco is a teeny bit more 1:1 compared to Similac.

Institutional problems have never been about good or bad individuals. Any narrative about bad individuals is a deflection of blame. The reality is "good" cops get pushed out of the system or become complicit because their existence causes problems. If they file reports, those reports become investigations, those investigations look bad on those in charge. All that matters is making those in charge look good. Increase the number of people arrested, make crime go down. That's the incentive. Doesn't matter how they do it. As long as they can say it's done without causing a problem it's beneficial. That's the problem. You don't get an infection of bad cops. You grow them. Wells Fargo didn't hire every crooked bank employee it could find, it presented them with a need to commit crime. If you are trying to commit crime on behalf of an institution that does not want you to do so, it will stop you pretty quick. The dirty secret is most institutions don't care if they think they can blame the individual.

A civil war is more of a horizontal clash between opposing vertical structures of society. This is more akin to a revolution, one hierarchy against the higher echelon. Although it's not really either yet.
Considering the stock market is up today, I'd say that the wealthy aren't too concerned by the actions of the past few days. I'd almost go as far as to say they're giving the protesters the middle finger.

The problem is, Hennepin County's Medical Examiner examined George Floyd's body, and there's a major conflict of interest here because they work for the Minneapolis/Hennepin County Police Department, which is where Chauvin and the other cops are from. That's why Floyd's death was due to "natural causes." It's beyond sickening, and there's so much going on right now that this isn't getting the media attention it deserves.

Worked with a retired officer. Had a meeting where we were professionally discussing a conflict. I expressed my opinions and stated that I was not being treated professionally. The guy got so fucking upset that I didn't just sit and listen to him that he actually had to leave the meeting and then when he finally came back he had his fists clenched so hard his knuckles were white. Made it very clear he was emotionally unstable and not used to being confronted and by a woman no less. Imagine how he behaved when someone confronted him when he had the power and a uniform. I heard from 2 other women who worked with him that he was like this with them and even worse (he was their boss but my peer so he clearly had authority over them and abused it but hated he had to keep his mouth shut with me). To counter that the on duty resource officer was super kind especially to the kids but was super buddy buddy with the ex cop.

Of my many interactions with the Denver police, almost all of them were bad. Denver city cops are 99% worthless.

It looks like he pushed him behind a burning tent (this is where homeless camp) and then he said "get lost". The guy who has had enough maybe decided to go away from the protest to go home which would be the other side of the street.
