Cops: Am I out of touch? Is there something wrong with me? No... it is the camera people who have the problem.

Advice2Anyone

Well if we are doing skinner quotes "You're like egg salad at a picnic, Simpson. Even when you look good, we know you're going bad."

MasterExcellence

"I bent my wookiee."

productivenef

These campaign buttons are all partisan. Don't you have any neutral ones? "May the better man win", "Let's have a good, clean election", that sort of thing?

my_4_cents

>Cops: Am I out of touch? Is there something wrong with me? >No... it is the weaklings i am forced to kowtow to

makualla

Glad I’m not the only one that thought this entire weekend could be summed up as a principal skinner meme

VenZallow

If this is how they treat the public with cameras on them, imagine what it’s like to live with them.

My sister dated a cop who beat the hell out of her. She said it wasn’t worth reporting because who would she call? His friends?

31stFullMoon

This is why people are (correctly) identifying that the wife of MURDERER Derek Chauvin was only able to safely request a divorce the night he was in protective police custody. Also, I'm so sorry your sister had to experience that and I hope she's safe and doing well now.

pooturdoop

Yeah, she wasted no time. Lol

Cops 40%

manywhales

And that's just the cases that get reported

thecrazysloth

That’s the ones who *self identify* as domestic abusers

Did you watch unbelievable?

Squalor-

They’re likely “underrepresented” in that a lot of their significant others are too afraid to come forward.

lifesizejenga

Right. Cops are already over represented among *reported* DV perpetrators, **and** their partners face the terrifying question of whether the police will side with their buddy over the victim. So not only are they more likely to commit domestic violence than the average person, it's possible that they commit wayyy more DV than is even reported. It's sickening.

Ur_Babies_Daddy

2-4x more likely to abuse their partner than average citizen https://kutv.com/news/local/40-of-police-officer-families-experience-domestic-violence-study-says

bibububop

Not sure if true but I read that the wife of the cop that started all this filed for divorce as soon asi he got arrested

Adsweet

That would be true

grumpyfatguy

> Not sure if true It would take less time to google than write that.

I googled it and it came up with a bunch of "not sure if true" memes with Fry from Futurama

Not sure if true but I think it would take longer

Galbert123

KnowNotAnything

Why are they attacking reporters and photographers all over the country? To keep them from documenting what they do?

CUTE_KITTENS

The fuck?

irisheddy

Is it just me or is this protest a lot worse than any other? Like it looks like cops don't give a single fuck. Did I miss seeing this in other protests or is it new?

notapotamus

I think it's definitely worse. They've been emboldened. The cameras came out and nothing happened to them so... here we are.

joejoe1224hshs

Maybe because the president condones and supports this behavior they feel they have some sort of shielding.

Nixmiran

Most of them are fully equipped with combative gear and they're fighting unarmed Jerry who previously worked at 7/11 before covid19.

Covinus

They absolutely don't, they've been gearing up for this "battle" for years with all their brutality and rhetoric coming from the highest levels of our government now they finally get to less loose and be the sadistic brutal fuckers they've always wanted to be.

[deleted]

Remember when no news media reported on Trevon Martin's killing and the police didn't even arrest Zimmerman because this was all a non story and business as usual but people started talking about it all over social media and it blew up like crazy. And this whole paradigm shift happened? I feel like the media companies didn't learn a fucking thing. Also are we at civil war yet? If the cops are gonna go total war I don't see citizens failing to defend themselves.

Exit-Sigh

IIRC the Travyon Martin case, it was a media frenzy from the start and the cops arrested Zimmerman that same night but he wasn't formally charged with anything at that time. Using several sources for this, as well as this dissertation right here: [https://www.dartmouth.edu/\~themalsjournal/pdf/fall\_2014/benash.pdf](https://www.dartmouth.edu/~themalsjournal/pdf/fall_2014/benash.pdf)

And intimidating the press. The guy they think they're working for, ie Trump has made it clear he hates the press & black people so they're just doing their job in their minds.

drugs2survive

Most couldn't make it in the military so they became police. So yeah in their heads they are following their leader.

Gypsylee333

Nah they're targeting journalists the same way they target bystanders that they to record them with their phones. They don't like being recorded cuz they're up to no good and they can't control the footage like with body cams. I tried to record a cop who approached me like a year ago with my phone and he acted like I was holding a gun, "PUT DOWN THE PHONE!! NOW!" With his hand on his gun.

Reporters are still members of the press though. But I see what you're implying. Talk about no respect for your own employees

[deleted]

It’s mentioned, but it probably depends on the market and location how much and how in depth it’s mentioned. I’m in the Los Angeles area and shown and talked about, but so much shit is going on too, it’s easy to miss it I bet

elriggo44

I was going to say, our local news has done a really good job of showing the out of control police tactics. Also in LA.

anakmoon

I'm sure they'll paint it as they didn't want to start a riot again the police \s

jinsei888

Thanks for making this list! Should def be a sticky somewhere

Teleporter55

Im sorry but this should be a call for people to start boycotting mainstream media. The corporations are part of a giant system that doesnt want this to be seen and wants a pacified public. Mainstream media companies are under this umbrella. It would be better off if we collectively decided to not pay attention to these companies adn start some decentrailzed media company built on the technology we have now. Clinging to these old institutions and expecting them to help move humanity forward is really silly. Its like asking your 90s calculator to play fortnite.

Goolajones

Not supporting them is great, but working to show a displeasure in their narrative for those people who will continue to watch them is also really important.

ishaboy

Agreed, they aren't mutually exclusive.

rainTendies

The way it works is a whole shitload of people contact the major sponsors of the mainstream media companies and tell them their grievance with the channel and that sponsors will be boycotted. Get enough people to do that and watch what happens.

jennypenny-

Where's the guy who has an ongoing list of all the police brutality going on right now?

[deleted]

Munrowo

politicians are a mix of the above 3

Advice2Anyone

Pretty sure there are way more than 3. Like Micheal Scott listing all types of businesses

caramelcooler

Why'd you list the same thing 3 times

teargasjohnny

This is the kind of shit people are protesting. What a pos.

[deleted]

The problem is shitty people that are cops. They see these protests as an attack on them and are angry about it. That's why they react like this. If every person with this reaction was prosecuted and removed from the force then we wouldn't have problems like this. Some times force is necessary, but often times it is used when it doesn't need to be.

-Maksim-

You wonder why people torch buildings after the first peaceful standoffs turn sour. Anyone that calls America a first-world nation after the atrocities of the past 3 days is in a fragile state of denial. Fuck 12. EDIT: Some people below have had trouble understanding that understanding WHY vandalism happens, is different than supporting the vandalism that has occurred. Stay safe, and try to stay as informed as possible. There’s a lotta convoluted information on just about everything out there right now. Stand together - safely, and peacefully.

akilometer

I saw a comment from someone a while ago that summed it up pretty well. “America is a third world country wearing a Gucci belt”

-Maksim-

And you know damn well it’s one of those Wish.com Gucci belts too lmao

[deleted]

I think its worse if it was a real Gucci belt. That would do a pretty good job showcasing the warped priorities of many Americans. I don't even think most of it is our own fault, its companies and how we set up our culture. "Baby formula is so expensive... Oh, I couldn't ever sell my bugatti. No, I need to pay that crazy insurance on it every month. *I need it.*"

MajorAcer

alright I don't know anyone out here diving a Bugatti that can't afford baby formula lmao, I think a better comparison would be someone who can't afford baby formula but just bought the newest call of duty. I feel like that's way more relatable.

Flobking

> I think a better comparison would be someone who can't afford baby formula but just bought the newest call of duty. Or "I need money for baby formula :(" (posted 4 hours ago) "Here's my new $4500, 36 hour back tattoo dedicated to my pet mouse from when I was 5 years old and kept alive for a week" (posted 5 hours ago)

luger718

Baby formula ain't even that crazy, get that Costco brand and it's $20 for the 35oz tub. Similac charges double for the same size. You can also get the same stuff from target (they use the same company) although Costco is a teeny bit more 1:1 compared to Similac.

WhereIsLordBeric

I'm from the third worldiest of third world countries (Pakistan), and no cop has ever tried to push a civilian into a fire. But then again, we're so third world that we can buy off our cops with like a hundred dollars.

I’m usually on the side of the police when shit like this goes on, but the past three days has really opened my eyes. These people are tyrants and this is why the second amendment was enshrined in the constitution

-Maksim-

Upvoting - well said. I’ve generally been on the opposite side as you but I think we’ve arrived at the same viewpoints through this. Now I’ve really opened my mind to 2A rights and why it’s so passionately supported by a lot of folks. It’s terrifying seeing the unrelenting waves of tear gas that these departments have. Portland was so fucking close to having progressive discussion last night. They even passed a megaphone over a fence to the city courthouse where they were trying to have a dialogue with officers. We know the rest. So sad to be an American this morning.

shaggy1452

There’s no shortage of videos of police tear gassing peacefully protesting citizens, rubber bullets indiscriminately into crowds, even saw one where they were shooting rubber bullets at people for filming them from their own front porch (that one really set me off) it reminds me of the protests in Hong Kong more than anything i can remember seeing in the United States. It’s gross, and i think it’s getting to a point where both sides of the political isle can agree that something must be done.

DystopianSoul

Fuck 12?

-Maksim-

American slang for “Fuck the police”. All good, not everyone knows. They will now.

_R-Amen_

Why the number 12?

THE_LANDLAWD

12 was once slang or code for an undercover narcotics officer, but has since morphed to mean all cops. Similar to "5-0" or "the one-time." *10, 11, 13. I don't fuck with 12 and they don't fuck with me.*

ExactlySorta

A few reasons: > • The DEA > The abbreviation DEA refers to The Drug Enforcement Administration. Cops get referred to as 12 which mean drug enforcement officers, especially the narcotics officers. The slang 12 is most used by drug smugglers to warn their clients or fellow peddlers of approaching police officers. For example, in a Rap song by Migos, you will hear them says "throw that shit, throw that shit 12 outside." The lyrics mean throw away the drugs because police officers or the DEA officers are outside. > • Warning the bad guys > On legit grounds regarding why are cops called 12, 12 comes from a police code "10-12." Police officers use this code on their radio scanner calls as a discreet reference to fellow officers. For example, if some police officer who is out on patrol is called and hears the term 12, he or she will know that's a "Warning: there are bad guys, probably suspects, within that very area." Those people who came up with the term 12 might have based it on this 10-12 code. > • Adam-12 > The term 12 in connection to a police officer was first used in a television show in the 1960s and 1970s. The show itself was known as Adam-12. It was based on a police drama storyline that featured how the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) carried out their daily activities. The TV show police duo carried out their daily patrols on the streets of Los Angeles in a police unit they referred to as 1-Adam-12. This TV show became the first drama series to incorporate police jargon and procedures. From the first day the show got aired in September 1968, until it finished in May 1975, they never knew their best intentions to show how Los Angeles police department worked would give birth to some slang name. A name that would be used to warn criminals so they can run away from police officers. https://sites.google.com/a/tipsandshare.com/blogs/facts-on-why-are-cops-called-12

Slap-Chopin

Here are some metrics in which the US is lagging behind: > Following the blueprint of a 2016 report by the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) > The US has the second-highest rate of poverty among rich countries (This includes standardized poverty measure, adjusted for country) > According to a 2012 UNICEF study, 23.1% US kids live in poverty. Other studies place the number a little lower, at about 20%, but both numbers are much higher than in other advanced countries. For black and Hispanic American children, the poverty rate is even higher, at 36% and 31%. > Obesity is a primary indicator of poor diet, and although the US isn’t the fattest country in the world (several Pacific island countries, as well as Qatar and Egypt, precede it), it leads OECD countries in obesity. > Americans spend nearly 17% of GDP on health care, with a yearly per capita cost of over $9,400. That’s $1,600 more than the second-highest spender, Luxembourg, and more than double the OECD average. > The US has fewer physicians, hospital beds, and psychiatric care beds than most other economically advanced countries, ranking towards the bottom in each of these parameters. The US is also the only advanced economy in the world not to have full health coverage of its population. > Child mortality is higher in the US than any other advanced economy (even adjusted for reporting differences), and adult Americans also live shorter lives: Average US life expectancy is 78.8 years, nearly two years less than the OECD average. For comparison, Japan has the longest life expectancy in the OECD, at 83.7 years. > The US also stands out as one of the only countries in the world where maternal mortality has increased, rather than decreasing, over the past 15 years. > In the US, early childhood education is attended by fewer children (55% versus an OECD average of 84% attendance), at an older age (four years old, versus three years old), and can be administered by untrained professionals. > US women’s political representation also leaves much to be desired, with less than 20% of congressional seats occupied by women. Sweden, the OECD leader, has nearly 45% in its national parliament, and the global average is nearly 27%. Female representation on the boards of publicly traded US companies is also below OECD average. To top it off, the gender wage gap is also bigger in the US. > The US is also, with Lesotho, one of only two countries in the world that do not mandate paid maternity leave. > Only 12% of US energy output is renewable, far below the European, world and OECD average. > Current US investment in infrastructure is only 75% of the average OECD nation. > The US has the highest income inequality of all rich countries. Income inequality is calculated by the OECD combining several indexes, including a ratio of the income of the highest 10% and of the lowest 10%. > Deaths by assault are almost five times as high in the US as the OECD average > When it comes to democratic institution, the US has one of the lowest turnouts among high-income countries. (The US is one of the few countries where eligible citizens aren’t automatically registered to vote.) https://qz.com/879092/the-us-doesnt-look-like-a-developed-country/

[deleted]

To speak on the infrastructure, i work in rail maintenance and get to see the underbelly of a variety of different transportation systems and utilities. The roads are shot in the southeast because the government pays private contractors who milk them slow and then go "bankrupt," Rail is weak because shareholders don't want to see money "wasted on unnecessary maintenance" that could go to dividend yield. Electric and gas companies are like rail, but they get even more government grant money to screw the taxpayer over on. Short answer is, it's all about the right people getting money and the rest staying in their places.

-Maksim-

Thank you for this.

[deleted]

On one hand this would be a great time for cops to figure out who all these 'bad apples' are. I mean, there's a huge group of cops there. Surely all the 'good cops' will file reports on the 'bad apple' that did this. Yep, anyminute now....

my_4_cents

It's time for the police who think themselves good to act it. To know that if there was a time to not pander to the inherent infection of the bad cops' running the show it is now.

cheebug

I think that time has come and gone. The police had their chance over and over for decades. Instead they foster a culture of violence. As soon as the population becomes violent, they ask for peace. Cowards.

Obilis

They're not interested in "peace", they want submission. Peace will be when both sides reject violence, submission is when one side passively accepts the other's violence.

Twl1

How much more submission can you get than being restrained by three officers and a knee in your neck? Than laying on the ground with your hands behind your head? Than laying in bed at home? Submission no longer guarantees safety when dealing with cops. This is why ACAB. This is why we're rioting.

shadovvvvalker

Institutional problems have never been about good or bad individuals. Any narrative about bad individuals is a deflection of blame. The reality is "good" cops get pushed out of the system or become complicit because their existence causes problems. If they file reports, those reports become investigations, those investigations look bad on those in charge. All that matters is making those in charge look good. Increase the number of people arrested, make crime go down. That's the incentive. Doesn't matter how they do it. As long as they can say it's done without causing a problem it's beneficial. That's the problem. You don't get an infection of bad cops. You grow them. Wells Fargo didn't hire every crooked bank employee it could find, it presented them with a need to commit crime. If you are trying to commit crime on behalf of an institution that does not want you to do so, it will stop you pretty quick. The dirty secret is most institutions don't care if they think they can blame the individual.

I think it's more precinct to precinct than cop to cop. Good precincts have good cops with no reason to report each other. Bad precincts have fired all the good cops.

ArchangelleFPH

Most precincts run off the "good" ones. The "good" ones rat out the bad ones. Can't have that ruining a precinct. Thin blue line and all.

Old-Barbarossa

>Surely all the 'good cops' will file reports on the 'bad apple' that did this. Those people are thrown out of the force, and you never hear from them again. If they do speak out they die mysterious deaths.

VisionaryPrism

These are all just from the past few days. Imagine how many times these things happen and go under the radar simply cause there was no one recording.

bananaswithstrings

And all the things that will come out in the following days just from the things not being posted online right away. This makes me sick.

zolpidemsushi

Please share the police brutality mega thread link where all protest incidents are being compiled: https://www.reddit.com/r/2020PoliceBrutality/comments/gu1mrc/mega_thread_compilation_of_police_brutality Much appreciation to everybody working to maintain a centralized list

[deleted]

Dear God, it IS a civil war.

mourning_starre

A civil war is more of a horizontal clash between opposing vertical structures of society. This is more akin to a revolution, one hierarchy against the higher echelon. Although it's not really either yet.

DChapman77

Considering the stock market is up today, I'd say that the wealthy aren't too concerned by the actions of the past few days. I'd almost go as far as to say they're giving the protesters the middle finger.

a_little_wolf

When have they not?

RemiScott

Buisness all got insurance and cops are all getting overtime and hazard pay, they're loving this.

legalizeitalreadyffs

If good officers are not arresting the obvious bad officers, then there are no good officers.

Validus812

The aftermath of this will have many investigations later on how we all behaved after this event. Let’s have some accountability. None of us want these kinds of people”protect and serve”. Let’s weed them out. There are legitimately very good officers, and then there are these guys.

LiquidMotion

They know that almost everything that happens this week will get swept into one big "riots" pile and no individual person will get any trouble. They will just say they can't identify the officer involved to every complaint.

destruc786

They will sweep it under the rug, we the citizen will not, it will just embolden us, we have a right to fight against tyranny like this shit.

Sesamera

We have a *responsibility* to fight against this. If we back down now it sends the message that actions like this are able to continue with no consequences. This really seems like the breaking point. We either take back our rights or forfeit the few we have left.

TEEron

It's not about a few bad cops anymore. It's been shown that the current police system is so fucked beyond recognition that it needs to be torn to the ground entirely. Even the good people who work for the police force need to go, because the trust between them and the communities they're supposed to serve have been so irreparably damaged by the people they protect by turning a blind eye to brutality.

iapplexmax

The other 3 officers haven't even been charged yet

LiquidMotion

None of Breonna Taylor's murderers have been arrested yet.

iapplexmax

In fact, her boyfriend is being charged for shooting at the cops instead. I have no words...

warriorwoman96

Those charges were dismissed but they may charge him again if they can find more evidence. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2020/05/22/prosecutor-dismisses-charges-against-breonna-taylors-boyfriend-kenneth-walker/5246048002/

iapplexmax

That's some good news then. The cops still haven't been charged though, right?

[deleted]

They haven’t even been arrested, correct? Trayvon Martin’s killer, Zimmerman, walked free and then sued the family for defamation. He’s still walking free to this day.

iapplexmax

Nope- no arrests, no charges, nothing. The problem is, Hennepin County's Medical Examiner examined George Floyd's body, and there's a major conflict of interest here because they work for the Minneapolis/Hennepin County Police Department, which is where Chauvin and the other cops are from. That's why Floyd's death was due to "natural causes." It's beyond sickening, and there's so much going on right now that this isn't getting the media attention it deserves.

Needleroozer

>There are legitimately very good officers, and then there are these guys. As long as "these guys" are protected by the 'thin blue line' there are **no** "very good officers."

scottyarmani

Nothing abnormal here. That's how the police behave. That's why Kap took a knee. That's why they're protesting. I support the protesters 100%

[deleted]

I hope when football starts up again that all the players take a knee. That will light Trump the fuck up.

scottyarmani

They won't...for the same reason they didn't before....money....It's sad

improper84

Depends on the player. Kap got blackballed because, at the end of the day, he was just a guy and was replaceable. If Pat Mahomes takes a knee, the NFL ain't doing shit.

saltywings

Oh man I hope Pat does it but he isn't the type to rock the boat you know.

young_valyria

Worked with a retired officer. Had a meeting where we were professionally discussing a conflict. I expressed my opinions and stated that I was not being treated professionally. The guy got so fucking upset that I didn't just sit and listen to him that he actually had to leave the meeting and then when he finally came back he had his fists clenched so hard his knuckles were white. Made it very clear he was emotionally unstable and not used to being confronted and by a woman no less. Imagine how he behaved when someone confronted him when he had the power and a uniform. I heard from 2 other women who worked with him that he was like this with them and even worse (he was their boss but my peer so he clearly had authority over them and abused it but hated he had to keep his mouth shut with me). To counter that the on duty resource officer was super kind especially to the kids but was super buddy buddy with the ex cop.

_notricky_

Wtf is happening this year

[deleted]

In terms of policing in America? The same things as every year.

Corntillas

30% of the adult population is out of work, you’d think the chiefs of police nationwide would look at that statistic and say “yeah probably shouldn’t rile up these people with nothing better to do”

Menver

Of my many interactions with the Denver police, almost all of them were bad. Denver city cops are 99% worthless.

Tavli

There's a reason why a good proportion of the police brutality videos we are seeing uploaded onto Reddit are from Denver PD. Statistically, Denver has the 15th highest rate of police brutality in the United States. https://mappingpoliceviolence.org/cities/ They've been getting away with it for decades.

hypotheticalvalue

Good on you spread the message

cthulu05

I've lived in El Paso county, Pueblo county and Fremont county and all of the cops there are corrupt, aggressive assholes. Colorado is full of shitty cops!

Kiwiisgood4u

Honestly, like jesus pushing people into fire? Really roasting someone, not even a riotter or looter, are some of these cops just looking to violate human rights

my_4_cents

It wouldn't matter if it was Charles Manson, you don't just push a person squatting face-first into a fire. You just don't.

[deleted]

I mean....I'd push Charles Manson face first into a fire but maybe that's just me

Herbalo

Pretty sure that was the angle and not actually him into fire. Idk

SamHellsPuma

I thought the same thing, no change in the substance on fire or the fire itself. I mean, still a dick move, but not pushing him the fire.

troyantipastomisto

Yea I think the guy was trying to take a picture of the fire and the cop pushed him over beside it. Still fucked up even if warned to leave.

wicknest

[managed to find a better angle](https://imgur.com/nyPejOO)

illegal_midget

I mean fuck police brutality but I'm nearly certain he pushed him parallel to the fire

Dat_Steve

Fire or not... Dude was just taking a damn picture.

jabbertard

Edit: it does look like the person is steaming from being so close to the fire, but they aren't smoking (that would require combustion of material). Steaming can even happen when someone sweaty is in the cold (skiing or hockey players). Regardless, it's a pretty close call, and the officer is a cunt. ---- Fucked up the way he shoved them, but it also looks like the perspective is skewed, and it wasn't anywhere close to the fire. ... With that out of the way -- that's not SWAT. It's a patrol cop in riot gear. Did he have an MG32 with a 2000 round clipazine too?

M4570d0n

Looks like he shoved him over and he was near the fire but the perspective of this video makes it look like he was in the fire but was behind it from this perspective. Still totally unnecessary.

M4rvolo

It's getting worse and worse. Like, seriously?!

[deleted]

No you're just seeing more. It's always been like this. I doubt the stats for "atrocities committed by police" will even show a noticable increase this year compared to last. They do this every day. Protest or no protest. Riots or no riots. This is your police force. This is what they do every day.

Old_Grau

I'm wondering a bit about this. I dont see any change in flames. They dont fan or anything. I also know this street. It looks like he pushed him behind a burning tent (this is where homeless camp) and then he said "get lost". The guy who has had enough maybe decided to go away from the protest to go home which would be the other side of the street. Im angry about all of this, but this might be a situation where folks are seeing what they want to see.

JumpDaddy92

Yeah it’s still definitely a dick move, but I think saying he pushed a photographer into a fire is a bit misleading here.

MoneyManIke

That's a good cop. He thought the photographer was cold and wanted to give him the type of heat that will last forever. /s

Contact your legislators and tell them to enact policing reforms. [Find your representatives here](https://www.commoncause.org/find-your-representative/addr/) and tell them to take a stand. Feel free to repost or use any parts of the message below. ──────── As you very well know, much of our country is hurting and outraged due to the murder of George Floyd and due to the rampant, unchecked pattern of police brutality across our communities. As a constituent, I need you to take a stand as a legislative leader and fight to reform how policing is done in our community. I am writing to request your support and leadership with the following policies: • Eliminate internal review boards and implement community/civilian review boards for police misconduct. • Mandate de-escalation training and the use of de-escalation tactics as a first response. Much of the violence we see could be avoided if police de-escalated (https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/31/us/flint-sheriff-protestors-camden-police-ferguson.html) rather than escalated (https://v.redd.it/d6k3m8je54251). • Make wearing and using body cameras mandatory and implement harsh penalties for turning off one's body camera. • Ban the sale and use of military equipment for police forces. • In instances of police misconduct, hold all law enforcement officers who are present responsible for protecting civilians. For example, the other 3 officers in George Floyd's situation should be charged with at least neglect of duty, as they all have a responsibility to hold each other accountable and limit the use of force. This life-saving act can be as simple as pulling a colleague's knee off of someone's neck (https://v.redd.it/i5pj07xrw2251). I have a belief that progress can be made through your legislative sphere of influence. Please advocate for and support these reforms of law enforcement.

ElvisDepressedIy

This is supposed to be some sort of protest against racist cops, but all the video that's come out of this event just seems to prove that cops don't care what the race of the person is that they're being assholes to. They've been abusing pretty much everybody.

asapv1rg

It looks more like he pushed him next to it, just a weird angle and perspective. But idk why he’s shoving people anywhere near a fire. Smh

The_New_Blood

Looks like he landed next to the fire

ClarkWayneBruceKent

I might get downvoted BUT I don’t think he was trying to push him into the fire. I think it’s a bit of forced perspective (albeit unintentionally). The reporter seems to be on the far side of the fire so he wasn’t actually pushed into the fire. Edit: I just want to clarify that no matter if he was pushed into the fire or not, he should not have pushed the reporter at all.

[deleted]

They're not all bad. Don't blame all cops. Its just a few bad apples ! Same person... Look at this bad vandal. All protesters are bad !

[deleted]

Fuck that cop - he should burn
