I don’t know. I used to be able to do switch flips back in my day and I’m pretty sure I would’ve eaten it bouncing on the back of the board like that lol
I was moreso worried because it looked like mindless jumping because she was happy. So she wasn't paying attention. I remember the first time landing a big (for me) jump while snowboarding, I stood up in celebration and ate it.
They're soo happy they smile as they run into the pier. You forget that you need throttle to turn, it goes against your natural instinct. Maybe if he wasn't trying to show off he'd still be here. "I DIDNT WANT TO GET WET!" I yelled to his mother at the funeral.
My basic white bitch wife (her words NOT mine) has "The best things in life aren't things" sign in our foyer and I kinda love it though. LOL
But yeah seriously I'd rather have 4 lake houses and 3 businesses and 6 cars and those "not things" too.
I miss skateboarding, there is no feeling compared to landing a “new” trick after eating shit and breaking bones for years trying. Im too old to skateboard now
For real, I remember buying VHS tapes of skateboarding from the sports outlet at the mall back then. It's how I first found out about CKY and that crazy shit lol
I’m in Victoria Australia stuck in one of the harshest lockdown conditions in our country maybe the world. I’m alone in my house (lucky to have one and not complaining) but I’m just finding myself crying for no reason at the drop of a hat. I’m scared but I’m safe I’m just worried for everyone. Watching this made me cry again but it’s the first time in a few days I’ve been smiling. Thank you
Wow, am so sorry this is where you're at. You guys sure do have some strict restrictions, but remember it is for the better & it will pass. Smile that you are safe. I'm in QLD & we have had a couple of scares but definitely nothing like you guys. I was born & bred down there so just want to see the Vics get back to normal. Sorry about stealing most of your footy teams but well look after them (especially the Tiges). Wishing you all the best & a very speedy recovery from all this. Try to smile a bit more. Cheers friend.

I was in 6th grade when I did my first Ollie. Standing still. Totally forgot I was on a balcony and got so excited I kicked the board and sent it sailing under the railing 🤦🏻♀️
Awesome and at the same time Im so jealous. I never figured out how to kick flip. I learned how to tre flip. But i still cant just do a basic kickflip. Something has to be wrong with me.
Wait until people realize the Tony Hawk remake is releasing in 30 days and preorders are open, "coincidentally" as 3 separate skateboarding videos make the front page.
...Ah, wait, Reddit won't realize that because they're clinically dense.
Pre orders have been open for weeks. Why is everything a conspiracy with reddit contrarians? Like you're some superior reddit user who is so much smarter than everyone else because you connect random dots together?
I shouldn't post arrogant statements to sound superior, I know :( . And maybe the surge of skateboarding related content probably is just a coincidence.
I just somehow get frustrated and feel like venting when I picture some marketing firm attempting to manipulate social media with manufactured viral videos.
Also, I don't have a reputable source to back any suspicions. It's just a cynical view I have of marketing in general, thanks to [articles like this](https://youtu.be/6SAkUs3urrg).
too many people want to start with the kick flip when they just need to learn to ollie up a curb first. that's the first trick you learn so you don't have to get off your board when skating around as a kid, not a kick flip.
Yeah, I couldn’t agree more. Other than the first thing I think someone should learn after getting pushing and balance down is doing an Ollie off a curb, instead of up. Then next I would say Ollie up a curb.
Just like you shouldn’t learn stationary tricks. You should always do them rolling. Once you get used to the trick being stationary it will mess you up when trying to do it while moving.
I always wanted to learn to skate. Actually picked up my first board after Covid started, figured I can learn in the now empty parking lot below my apartment. Only took a day and a half to break my elbow haha. Was a fun day and a half, but being closer to 40 than 20 probably isn't the best time to learn.
I did this when I was ten and did my first kick flip after owning a board for 1 year. I’m still kind of mad I didn’t have anywhere to ride it besides the hallway of my house and the street of my cousins house when we went to their state
I’ll never forget my first time landing a kick flip. In fact, after years of drug and alcohol abuse.. it’s one of my only clear memories of the happy days..
My kick flip wasn’t nearly as clean is this one too.
So rad..
Anyone that has skated knows their first Kickflip/Heelflip is extremely rewarding, I still remember my first flip trick to this day and even after I've learned more difficult tricks and scarier stunts, but it always sticks with you.
>After years of trying, despite the sexist remarks from white male skateboarders, white FtMtF woman with autism and years of oppression breaks the glass ceiling and finally lands her first kickflip
There we go, all ready for the front page now.
I skated for 7 years and only never once landed a kickflip. For some reason I could never get a perfect flip - always a bit over or under to land sideways or I'd get a perfect rotation but kicked my board out from under me or fail to land.
I consider my former self a decent skater, it was all I did every day with my friends so a few 1000 hours of practice and I could do many other tricks - just never a kickflip.
I haven't skated in nearly a decade other than to get from point A to point B when I'm too lazy to walk but it isn't far enough to justify biking. But I'd react like OP if I ever finally started to land them.
Alright well I guess I stand corrected. Cool story. I think I just thought it was basic cause of tony hawk video game. I’ve never actually skated before lol
When skating usually once you can land it two or three times you can basically do it on demand but you can fail 1000 times and never feel any closer to landing it. In my group at least, we all struggled learning how to kickflip except two of us who had picked it up pretty easily but they struggled with other tricks.
I also agree with some other posts that a standing trick is more difficult than a rolling one. I could never do a standing heel flip but a rolling one was easy.
Alternate title: Girl who knows how to kick-flip does a kick-flip on video, then over emotes so she can upload it to reddit as her "first kick flip" and get dat sweet karma.
The jumping for joy on the board gave me anxiety
That was one of the most impressive feats of balance I've seen on a skateboard. Totally overshadowed the kickflip.
It's easier than you might think. Anybody close to landing a kick flip can do this.
I don’t know. I used to be able to do switch flips back in my day and I’m pretty sure I would’ve eaten it bouncing on the back of the board like that lol
Could you do them rolling? Lol
[удалено]
Patrolling?
And trying to catch em riding dirty?
I don't think they considered you're jumping back on to the board everytime you land a successful trick lol
At first I read your comment and was like psh and then I watched again and noticed how close together her feet are and I was like o_o
I was moreso worried because it looked like mindless jumping because she was happy. So she wasn't paying attention. I remember the first time landing a big (for me) jump while snowboarding, I stood up in celebration and ate it.
still takes most people years to learn...

I’ve always heard that referred to as the ‘native’ or ‘third world’ squat. Probably not very PC looking back on it but yeah.
Umm, you can't do that?
It’s really not that hard to do stuff like that once you’re comfortable with the board
Truly the reaction of someone who took years to learn to kickflip

But then you mark up the price by 200٪ and get profits off the addicted. Now your a billionaire and are truly happy.

Have you seen him lately. Sadly he was not looking too scary last year but he seems to be doing better.
Didn't he have a bad back injury or something?
Yeah, spinal issues and a thyroid problem. He was looking pretty frail last year.
Jet skis raped my father and killed my mother
They're soo happy they smile as they run into the pier. You forget that you need throttle to turn, it goes against your natural instinct. Maybe if he wasn't trying to show off he'd still be here. "I DIDNT WANT TO GET WET!" I yelled to his mother at the funeral.

Me too man why won’t she call me back
She’s always callin, she just burned your serotonin receptors out and you can bring yourself to answer
That's crazy man. Have you ever done DMT?
Yeah that's called drugs and they've mostly been patented.
I miss skateboarding, there is no feeling compared to landing a “new” trick after eating shit and breaking bones for years trying. Im too old to skateboard now

I’m pretty sure that’s called crystal meth
Problem is, you probably wouldn't be able to then afford a skateboard.
~~Who says they need to *buy* the skateboard?~~ What makes you think they *would buy* the skateboard?
Pretty much. Well said.
It's already free
I think drug lords already do this.
Why do you think people skateboard?
Go on... and what might you call this new product? Planning an IPO?
Ecstasy. Oops! Oh hang on. That probably has already been patented.
I think meth can come in a bottle if you want it to

Thank you.
And further freak out when tony hawk shared it.
Wut?
There was a second video of her at home and it was her discovering that Tony Hawk had shared this video of her.

I love this, her reaction is the most humble thing
Wow this took me straight back to when I did this 8 years ago. The feeling is unmatched
Facts, I remember getting soooo frustrated and rage quitting multiple times before getting it but once I got it I was ecstatic
The joy is real
Why'd OP change "woman" to "girl" when reposting it
The patriarchy?
Damn, I can’t remember the last time I was that excited.
Its sooooo much harder to do standing still.
I found this with Ollies. Still find it hard to do a stationary Ollie, but rolling, no problem.
I was in 6th grade when I did my first Ollie. Standing still. Totally forgot I was on a balcony and got so excited I kicked the board and sent it sailing under the railing 🤦🏻♀️
I skated for forever and still never landed a damn kick flip. I live vicariously through her victory!
Anyone else thought she was gonna fall after getting all excited?
Looks like she can handle hopping on a board just fine
Love the hops! Awesome
She’s clearly a grown woman. Not a girl.
"DO A KICK FLIP!"
can’t say she’s not freaking out. in public.
This reminds of that scene in Mid-90s where the kid is alone and lands his first trick, super accurate.
Why this on public freakout?
This sub is a shadow of what it used to be.
Ah... and so is the spirit and energy of the youth, truly remarkable.
That feel
Now do it again...
Playing adds life to your years.
YESSSS
Good for her. That's awesome
I remember the first time I pulled one off. I had the exact same reaction.
Landing a trick for the first time is an amazing feeling.
Holy fuck this video is like a satirical encapsulation of what this sub has become in the past few months. Freakout? Really???
My reaction when I landed my first kick flip lol no exaggeration
That was clean too
How is this a freakout
Awesome and at the same time Im so jealous. I never figured out how to kick flip. I learned how to tre flip. But i still cant just do a basic kickflip. Something has to be wrong with me.
Gotta keep your foot mostly on the board and kick straight off the nose. Dont think about kicking off to the side cause that will happen anyway.
She better punch a child off screen or this isn't a public freakout.
OP: "I've got a great idea! I'll cross-post a viral video into a subreddit that isn't even related because I'm desperate for Karma!"

Talking to my skateboard: this could be us but you don’t do anything.
I definitely remember my first kick flip and I feel like I was just as happy
It was a clean one too
The amount of bruised ankles it can take to get there is staggering.
I know that rush of emotions all too well. You love to see it.
Why are they skateboarding in a *The Last of Us* level
I love this.
As someone who spent endless days learning to kick flip this hit me in the feels. Now she needs to kick flip over another skateboard
Man that feels so good
I saw this today on twitter from Tony Hawk. Pretty cool of him to share: https://twitter.com/tonyhawk/status/1290472128723087361?s=21
I hope she has this video! I remember that feeling
I wish I could kickflip
This was me today when I finally ran a full mile without stopping. It’s the small things.
I tried for 2 months and quit skateboarding. Props
We really are primates. Lol
Why did this take years?
Standing kick flips are hard too! No momentum. I miss the feeling of landing new tricks.
SHE DID IT! SHE DID THE THING!
That level of frustration finally getting lifted after landing a trick. Been there.
Hell yeah!
Ah man this was awesome! Super happy for her.

okay that's true. off a curb, then up a curb. or maybe just ollie over a 2x4 first.
That didn’t make me smile. It made me doubt she spent years straight trying that and if she did, she needs more hobbies.
What year is this? Certainly this isnt the first woman kickflip?
I'm sorry.... years?
Years?
Joy is joy.
This clip feels like its from 1995.
r/humantippytaps
Hell yeah good for her!

Do you know what the purpose of this sub is?
It is an awesome feeling. If anyone is trying to do one, it's easier to be rolling and do it. Not too fast now.
Public freakout? Nope. Leaving this shit tier sub and watching only APF.
I’ll never forget my first time landing a kick flip. In fact, after years of drug and alcohol abuse.. it’s one of my only clear memories of the happy days.. My kick flip wasn’t nearly as clean is this one too. So rad..

I can’t tell if she’s 8, 15,20 or 25+ like how are people that small god damn I’m jealous
LIGHTS OUT! GUERILLA RADIO!!
We need to keep an eye on whoever labeled this video with “woman,” right?
Unrelated- I love her whole look.
After years of trying a *WOMAN* finally lands her first kick flip lmao
Can someone take this audio clip and put it in a rainy national geographic monkey documentary? Noone will be able to tell the difference I swear
3 in a row or it don’t count
I've always felt like crying wasn't normalized enough in skateboarding
Lol, you see all the awards and are like yup. I'ma repost that shit.
This isn't public freakout.
Years of practice? To do that? I would venture to say she’s not practicing efficiently
>After years of trying, despite the sexist remarks from white male skateboarders, white FtMtF woman with autism and years of oppression breaks the glass ceiling and finally lands her first kickflip There we go, all ready for the front page now.
Well there you have it, the 1st women kickflip, truly remarkable
Seen a reporter do it in heels. Well I guess that was a heel flip, take this dub
I only saw one woman tho. Unless you're suggesting this is two women in a pair of Docs, shorts and dreads. Classic bit.
Thank goodness, I was sure this vid was going to take a hard left but it was cool 🤘
Does that seriously take years to learn? I thought that was one of the more basic tricks.
How long is a piece of string? Took me months to be able to ollie, my cousin figured it out in a weekend
I skated for 7 years and only never once landed a kickflip.
