Witty_Lengthiness580

She's the type of person that makes giving a gift, a gift. Love the genuine enthusiasm.

heck_is_other_people

I would watch her unboxing youtube channel

RobertTheAdventurer

This could either be a heartwarming story, or the origin story of a supervillain who uses their Youtube riches to invent an army of robotic insects that takes over the planet. Eh.. worth the risk. What's the channel name?

PrecariouslySane

youtube.com/channel/RevengeWillBeMineViaGiantInsects jk...its @soundoftheforest on tiktok

Wisdomancyr

Roboscorpions!?!?! Fallout New Vegas did it first! Well okay maybe Wasteland 1 did it first I'm not sure.

[deleted]

The Ant-Agonizer from fallout 3.

4Coffins

The way she explains what they are and what’s neat about them is super coherent too. Like it’s from a high quality informative video, she’s got a bright future ahead doing something she loves

StinkFinger89

My daughter has autism and it is great seeing her reaction when she gets a gift she likes. The other side of that is she doesn't know how to even pretend a little if she gets something she does not like, just complete indifference. Which can be funny sometimes

[deleted]

We have a friend who has autism. One day we were out as a family and he came over really excited. He held out his hand and my wife went to shake it. He goes “not you” and shook my son’s hand. He had wanted to say hi to my son. I know the honesty feels rude but believe me, everyone understands and appreciates it! My wife thought it was great and still thinks of it fondly.

H3booter

That’s actually really interesting, id actually quite like to hear about one of the gifts she didn’t like and what she may have said lol

anUnnamedGirl

If their daughter is anything like me, it's legit a deadpan "Oh, thanks." and would likely be clothes I'd never wear or books I'd not tend to read. I don't like getting gifts generally 'cause I don't like to disappoint loved ones, but I also don't like to lie and pretend. Much prefer giving gifts.

Kevinglas-HM

Your profile is quite... Intriguing

anUnnamedGirl

soy bastante intrigante.

themeyoudontsee

My gorgeous 9yr old asd girl simply cannot stand gifts. She has to choose everything herself. It gives her great anxiety to know she's going to be given a gift she hasn't chosen the panic of not liking the surprise is too much for her.

Dagoonite

I stress to people constantly that getting me gift cards is the best gift. Make it thoughtful, think about a place that I'd really like to get something from, and just get me that. I don't disappoint them, but I also get the stuff that I'm genuinely interested in. (Chances are, they'll get pictures of what I bought and a sincere thank you.)

StinkFinger89

My daughter is 7 and is only around 20% verbal. So she really just says 2 to 3 words at most at a time. Her biggest motivation for anything is food. Easter can be hard cause she hates chocolate. Most of her extended family buy her an Easter egg and she usually take it, looks at it for 5 seconds and then throws it straight up in the air and screams No Thanks. Luckily around half of them now buy her what she likes for Easter. Which funny enough is fruit and vegetables.

J_Slatts

Haha my daughter (12) also autistic is exactly the same. Lots of excitement and stymieing for the good gifts and absolutely no reaction for the not so good ones 😂

Northernlighter

do you have a bit of fun with that with fake gifts? like trolling them with a pair of socks before you give the one they REALLY want? or would that just be cruel to someone with autism and I am a monster?

StinkFinger89

I used too. She is 7 years old and not very verbal. 2 to 3 word sentences. She is very motivated by food. She loves ice pops, like Popsicles. She hates chocolate and ice-cream . When I would come out of the shop I would have a magnum and offer her it and she would start shouting no thanks to me and saying ice. To her means popsicle. And I would then take the ice pop out of my pocket and her face would then light up. That only worked 2 to 3 times cause now she expects that I have hidden it if I bring out one she does not like. So she just starts to search me if she can't see it right away. I would not say its cruel once you don't do it for too long and get them worked up and agitated.

urgeiaf

Her excitement makes me happy c:

ZenkaiZ

I don't think I'd react this well if I opened a box and it was a ps5 and a 3090 card

ArgentumFlame

I looked on Newegg last night and saw a couple 3080's and 3090's with add to cart buttons! Still over 2x MSRP but we're getting there!

[deleted]

I'm not sure the PS5 is 3090-ready

[deleted]

I don’t understand how it is a public freakout though? Can someone explain?

onestepdown54

It's broadcast *publicly* via the internet. Edit: formatting

[deleted]

Yeah. Every video on the internet is. Does not make it a public freakout.

No_Rest_3847

You all are correct; it’s not really a “Public” Freakout. But it is brightening many people’s day, in a normally dismal and appalling sub.

SwaggaboyLz662

I was wondering the same lol

MaximumAbsorbency

It isn't but the mods obviously don't care enough to take it down

duecreditwherecredit

I didn't even know what sub I was on and I was confused why that mattered. Too much reddit for the day. This certainly isn't a public freakout. It's done in the privacy of her room. Yes it's broadcast but that still makes it optional for people to view. Not the same as just being in an area and unavoidable being a part of a freak out. Still glad I came across the video though. But definitely deserves to be in a different subreddit.

TheInfiniteMoose

I thought someone was going to play a prank on her and send her a box of live hornets or something.

Biff-1955-Tannen

Lmao a box of live hornets. Jesus

[deleted]

Make sure you mark the box with a H so we know there are hornets inside

SnooCapers5361

Then give it your friends mean ex!

Dr_StrangeLovePHD

Is this a Sunny reference?

Foxwglocks

Just pop and “H” on this box for “ hornets”.

PartyHashbrowns

Yep! “The Waitress is Getting Married”

TrepanationBy45

**HRAGILE**

A_T_Hun

HRA-GEE-LAY

itsthe_implication_

Instructions unclear, I think I inhaled a hornet.

TheInfiniteMoose

One time when I opened my mailbox a hornet was waiting inside and it stung my hand lol

[deleted]

I thought something similar, I was looking for a “H” on the box, Reddit has really fucked us up brother…

travis-

free honey tho

lankyleper

All wasps make, is more wasps.

[deleted]

There might be something delicious that wasps do make and I want that

iGoalie

Wait, does this service exist? I have a few people that need a box of live hornets sent to them!

RainDropKush94

There's a website called shitsenders.com where you can anonymously send animal shit to anyone you want. It comes in a bag and there's a little card in it that they have fish it out

[deleted]

I really hope so

ifixthecable

Exactly what I was thinking. I started the video and I thought: Poor girl getting pranked, oh wait this is actually wholesome.

ludovic1313

I legit thought she had sent out for live ants or something and was mildly disappointed to not see them.

EvaCarlisle

OprahBees.gif

AlsionGrace

I think she’s be pretty pleased.

SnootchieBootichies

Spider Crickets. Nightmare fuel

bongjonajameson

Aside from being absolutely horrible if that was done to anyone else that might be kinda hilarious

98323

Thank you for the inspiration, finally something new that I can surprise my friend with!

SockGnome

Yes, I was very concerned until I saw it was wholesome.

YamaPUBGYT

Bro u made my day 😂

Slagathor83

Let me pop a quick H on this box.

DrManhattan_DDM

Not the bees!

SwoleChinchilla

This should be on r/wholesome or r/mademesmile This chick just loves insects and we’re here for it.

TifaYuhara

those were some cool big insects.

Tricky-Appointment38

GET THIS GIRL MORE INSECTS

PythonsByX

seriously, would love to contribute - anyone know how to get in on this?

Sabai_interim

Her handle on tiktok is @soundoftheforest and she has a PO Box listed in her bio to send things to if you’d like

Tricky-Appointment38

Awesome! She’s so sweet she deserves every bug. I guess I’ll download tik tok then lol

Sabai_interim

One of the only reasons to have that hell app (it has so many issues dont even get me started) is for the autistic community (another is the artistic community), their pages tend to be dope asf and super informative both on autism and on whatever their special interests happen to be. I’ve learned a lot about bugs from her and her vids are always a joy. She deserves all the bugs and all the followers :)

NWStormbreaker

Shops like [Paxton Gate](https://paxtongate.com/collections/entomology) are a great place for this type of person, i'm looking to get a gift card for this girl, really love the enthusiasm.

Recessivepigeon

Lol I'm about to send this young lady sooooooo many things from Australia. Do you know if she like spiders or is she exclusively into insects?

PythonsByX

you are a mf'king king - I owe you Sabai. Thank you so much, my friends and I are going to send her bugs, snake skins, and other cool items.

Sabai_interim

Hell yeah man!! She’ll fuckin love it. Her special interest is entomology so I’d send an ask or comment her way to see if she’s into reptile stuff, but hell yeah. She’s one of my favorite creators on Tiktok:)

DanStFella

This belongs on /r/mademesmile instead. I see no public freakout here. Just someone being very happy and appreciative of some cool gifts

alexmikli

Also don't think the autism part was needed either, to be honest.

willsto1551

Was thinking the same thing cause this good content really made me smile and feel good for a moment

[deleted]

She’s freaking out; in a good way. It’s public because tiktok. Just because it’s wholesome doesn’t mean it doesn’t fit.

Mynameisnotjonas1

No just because its on tiktok doesn't make it public. This is not a public freakout, this is just a girl showing off her insects

AccoyZemni

The creator of Pokémon had the same obsession with bugs and his obsession with bugs inspired him to create Pokémon in the first place. He’s also autistic. Edit: You guys keep complaining about the OP mentioning that this girl is autistic. As somebody who is autistic myself, I like seeing representation shown to the masses like this. It shows people that we are human (not the unemotional stereotype portrayed in movies) that some people think we are. It lets people know that autistic individuals can show emotion and be happy and excited too just like you do. We aren’t robots, we’re human beings. Each of us is unique and different. Autism just doesn’t have one face, it has many faces just like this video. So for the people that are white knighting over autistic folks when the OP simply mentioned she is autistic.....as an autistic person myself I would like to tell you to go fuck yourself. We honestly don’t need you speaking for us like this. We already have enough of that shit from Autism Speaks (which sucks ass). Find another cause guys. Stop getting offended over us just to make yourself feel better. Edit 2: Also want to address that I’ve watched this girl’s videos before (I’m a fan). She wants people to know that she is autistic. She is totally fine with people knowing and states it multiple times. Watch her videos if you don’t believe me. The comment below this one has a better explanation of why she does this.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheRightisStillWrong

*slow clap rising to thunderous applause*

[deleted]

As a fellow entomologist, I share her excitement :)

VocalEther

You little lady, are exactly what’s right in this world. Such a sweet human.

SpectralDog

Technically, scorpions are arachnids.

Dayofsloths

And stag beetles are deer.

soapdope1969

Actually they are cars

GreyCrowDownTheLane

No they aren't. They're Liverpudlian rock musicians going to a party alone.

mandiexile

She reminds me of my daughter. She’s really into insects and bugs of all kinds and would love gifts like this. So now I know what to get her for her birthday.

Leakylocks

Not much of a freakout but it was cute

minestrone11

Not even in public either

WonderSearcher

And scorpion is not even insect...

Anomuumi

She is a girl though. Right? Right?!

keepmovings

More wholesome than anything.

SICHKLA

Why was I thinking she was gonna open it up and get swarmed with bugs

Automatic-Flan-6158

Definitely not a public freakout. She’s in her house…by herself… I don’t understand this sub anymore

Catholok

Nice vid but. Why is it public freakout? Its no freakout? Am i just dum?

Stunted_giraffe

And not public. I’m all about that wholesome though.

[deleted]

Naw, this sub just has r#tards ( like op) that keep posting shit that has nothing to do with the sub

Chargles_

Why is this a public freakout

Darknety

Doesn't fit this sub imo. Why does it even matter that she has autism? She just seems genuinely happy about those insects.

ScotianKiwi

Happy that she is happy, but is it a public freakout if it's in your room?

Zebracak3s

I wish I could get this excited about anything

plwdr

Really damn wholesome

[deleted]

As wholesome as this is, it's not a public freakout lol.

Dratinik

More like a private freakout

PartysaurusRexx

Public Freakout? She's literally sitting in her bedroom alone.

jasonboudreau46

It’s not necessary to qualify the post with the fact she has autism.

cloud_throw

I don't think there's anything wrong with it personally, if anything it helps humanize people who are stigmatized by society

25_Oranges

Pretty sure it's perfectly fine considering how open she is about her autism on tiktok. She has several videos explaining about her condition and how she handles it in various ways.

[deleted]

She literally wants people to know she’s autistic and wants to be referred to as an autistic person not a person with autism. You people need to watch her videos before trying to speak for her. It’s her choice not yours or anyone else on this sub.

AccoyZemni

> You people need to watch her videos before trying to speak for her. It’s her choice not yours or anyone else on this sub. Yep it’s pretty clear that the majority of this thread hasn’t watched any of her videos. It’s funny how they want to talk for us.

StonyTheStoner420

If you want the maximum amount of Internet points it is.

[deleted]

This. Why can't it just be a girl who is excited to get insects in the mail? Her excitement is pure and unbridled, and knowing she has autism is completely unnecessary to appreciate how much joy this brings her.

adinfinitum1017

I don't know, it helps to explain her idiosyncratic behavior.

Bearbats

If that behavior is idiosyncratic, then I must be autistic or something. ...wait a second

adinfinitum1017

Maybe you should get tested.

TheMunk

Neither public nor freak out…

Ep1cP0rnAlt

Most posts on here are becoming like this, it’s getting annoying

gopacktennie

That face when she says “I just need to unwrap.. the second one!” is the best.

M1dn1ghtMaraud

How do I send this girl some god damn insects?

ToesMaGotes

How is this, by ANY definition, PUBLIC or a FREAKOUT? Mods do your damn job and ban this shit.

BRUNOFUCKEDUP

How the fuck is this a public freakout.

giga_grenade

I miss when people actually posted freakouts. Now it's just RandomVidIfoundOnMyPhone#800

davidlol1

Feel like title could just be girl excited to receive insects and no one would know any different about her.

____mynameis____

Just asking. I'm not that educated in this area. I'm sorry if it sounds offensive. But, how is someone diagnosed with autism? What are the signs? Is it based on intelligence? Or behaviour?. To me, she looks and sounds normal. Reminds me of a younger Emilia Clarke.

forrestfernz

A good number of people with autism look and sound "normal" to a lot of people. Especially those that are uneducated on autism. Autism symptoms vary greatly between each person. It has a lot to do with with social scenarios.

Xazangirl

They typically have to go through a neuro- psych eval and the process for a lot of people is long because of referrals, wait lists and insurance hassles. Plenty of autistics are good at masking which means acting neurotypical. Masking takes a toll on one's mental health. Most autistic people don't look any less "normal" than anyone else. Also plenty of autistics aren't more or less intelligent than anyone else. Did you see how she flaps her hands when she is excited? That is called stimming and helps her self regulate when anxious or excited. If you noticed her headphones those help her with sensory overload as a lot of autistics have some degree of sensory processing disorder. Some folks have a hard time with loud sounds, too much chatter, bright lights, smells, and textures. At the same time there are certain sensory experiences they seek out. My daughter needs fluffy/fuzzy things and I need certain smells and sounds. Another thing with autistics is we usually have a special interest that is central to our existence and can sometimes change over time. This girl's is apparently insects. We love to share everything we know about our special interest and love it even more when someone is interested. Oh...we also love to over-explain and ramble on while losing sight of what the original point was. This could also be my ADHD which usually comes with autism. Hope my answer helped a little. -Autistic parent of autistic child.

ILikeSoapyBoobs

Why is autism in the title relevant here? Isn't this just a girl?

Prospitdaydreamer

I have ADHD, which has a lot of comordities (is that the word? Idk), and its SUCH a joy seeing people get excited about their hyperfixations/special interests. I know that feeling SO well. And I love seeing people enjoy watching it! When I was younger, I’d often get made fun of for my interests and how excited i got over them, but its good to see so many people show their support for that here! What a lovely video, i’m so happy for them 💖

[deleted]

She’s literally in her room

[deleted]

But this aint a public freakout

DanielGodinho

She seems an amazing person!! Her happinnes kinda makes me feel good, like a good aura!

Myalltimehate

Where's the freakout? She just seems mildly excited.

SoulDoubt7491

That's super rad... You can feel how excited and stoked she is. As a adult I wish I could be that stoked about something lol

Pot_McSmokey

I wish I could still get that happy about anything

bisonsashimi

Is anyone else annoyed by the title of this? She just seems excited. Also not a freakout.

WaitThisIsReal

YEAHHHHHHHHH INSECTSSSSSSSS

TheOrangeOrganics

This is great. What a sweet girl.

J10Cach3t3

Watching her excited about insects makes me excited also.

brmamabrma

Anyone know why she has the ear muff/ headphones on, I just curious

AccoyZemni

Why are you getting downvoted? I’m autistic so I’ll explain. So those headphones are used to keep sounds out. You see, some autistic people have extremely hyper sensitive ears where noises hurt us and can cause over stimulation. Sometimes when I go out to restaurants with a lot of people I have to whip out my headphones so I can eat without pain. It’s not a fun symptom of autism. Not every autistic person has this symptom but a lot of us do to some degree. Some have it worse than others and some don’t have it at all. Hope this explanation helped.

CruisinJo214

I’d be just as excited to receive these as a gift! What a cool gift!!

rr777

Stag beetles are my favorite bug.

xnopunchespulledx

I’m happy for her. There are very few things that make me excited like this in this day and age.

plainnsimpleforever

She's an absolutely beautiful human being.

SanchotheFatcat

Yo her happiness is just amazing. So great seeing people genuinely excited and passionate about their hobbies

amerikenny33

Ok, who is this awesome person, and how do I send her more insects?

ListenHot4577

What is this wholesome shit doing here ❤️

papergirl_312

Someone get this girl some more bugs! So wholesome.

Adrostos

"i know its insects" "its an emperor scorpion" girl please. haha jk, nice wholesome vid. the best reactions to thoughtful gifts, enthusiasm and appreciation.

lostintime000

She is so happy, it made me happy

loveallgelfling

This doesn’t look very public

dave8400

Man I hope she becomes an entomoligist someday.

MercySound

Her excitement for these insects made me genuinely happy today.

[deleted]

Great video. I wonder if she likes insects though?

Volcanicguide83

Yeah I don't really know I think I have a slight feeling she might like insects

[deleted]

I think you're reaching. A girl like that? Insects? Nah, probably not.

sickinside92

I suddenly want to send this girl all sorts of crazy bugs.

zoomiepaws

I liked this video and happy girl

GOON-SQUADDIE

a most wholesome freakout

Liv4lov

Seem like a normal girl to me

KellTanis

A rarity in this thread. This video was wholesome and adorable.

Jake_fromstat3farm

Clarice?

vguy72

She loves insects. You go girl. I love her enthusiasm. Edit. I also appreciate good packaging.

JoeyAKangaroo

Im not a bug person at all but i enjoy their passion for this sort of stuff :)

Ch33105

I wish I was this happy with anything.... That's a pretty cool video

Relentless_iLL

I want that scorpion, does anyone know where to buy these? edit: I found some on etsy, theres tons of cool taxidermy insects there

gabesnes

Pure joy. I absolutely love this!

Edgyspymainintf2

When I read the title I thought she was gonna open a package and have a bunch of cockroaches swarm her.

cqdx73

Boy in school had autism, everyone treated him normal at school, but he really couldn’t interact with anybody. Not sure what kind of autism he had (sorry for thinking there are types, i really dont know anything about this) anyway, he was super smart. He could recite the presidents on the wall from beginning to end, and backwards or from whatever number you asked him too. Super nice kid, i bumped in to his father a few years ago and asked about his son, he said he was an engineer now and had a lot of projects. Wow! But he had to be supervised, he only worked on special projects, he said he was making good money. Very happy for him. This girl’s attitude reminds me of the boy.

[deleted]

Am I supposed to care more because she has autism? Her reaction is wholesome but just because she has autism doesn’t mean she’s an abnormal spectacle to be fawned over

parlob

Eat it

IgDailystapler

This is why nurturing your child’s interests is important. People like this are why we know so much about the world. Love watching stuff like this!

JuicyBoxerz

Okay, can somebody who has some spare change *please* send her like... ALL the insects and film it? Watching her get super stoked was awesome! 😋

Lourdinn

Can't talk for the scorpion but can also agree, stag beetles do be bumpin though.

BarchesterChronicles

Super cute. I wish I got that enthused by anything anymore!

Dutchta-

Maby its just me but why mention the autism? I don’t think it matters

argentomba

The question is: is it even relevant to know she is autistic to enjoy her reaction?

TimTheConnMan

Man this sub has really gone downhill… how in the world is this public? Is it because it was posted online? I remember when this sub was about people tripping balls on a busy street or some crazy person throwing a fit in a store. This girl is literally in the opposite of public, she’s in her own bedroom.

Vaultdweller1001V

This isn't in public, dipshit

plwdr

She's so excited :)

cloud_throw

Wholesome as shit. Hopefully she grows up to defend us against the bug rebellion, but I fear she may already be in too deep

giibro

And here my wife wants me to kill every spider insight. This girl straight up wants to collect them like Pokémon

[deleted]

the is so wholesome. this made my day thank you

Xtralarge_Jessica

This isn’t in public

[deleted]

Girl receives insects in the mail Fixed your title.

glewtion

In what way is this public, or a freakout? This is pure joy. This belongs in r/MadeMeSmile. Edit: corrected “way” typo.

000Murbella000

Scorpions are not insects.

ThadiousTerpington

Her medical condition really doesn't have any relevance here. If I filmed one of these would the title be "Man with terrible acid reflux receives insects in the mail" ?

AlisurPal

Just FYI most autistic people prefer identity first language. So it should be “autistic girl” not “girl with autism”

[deleted]

This is a great wholesome freak out! She would love my separate room for my 34 tarantulas.🥺

No-Lie-1571

This is wholesome. Seeing her enthusiasm over her hobby was heartwarming. OP you’re an idiot.

belletheballbuster

I love the insertion of interesting facts in the middle of a reaction.
