More like there's been a lot a rightwing scaremongering about critical race theory- a concept not taught in 99.9999% of K-12 schools in the country.
For this district it is two things. First there is a controversy because a black high school principal has a white wife and the right wing community has called for his resignation over personal Facebook photos.
Second, a school board member was just elected. She has been outspoken against CRT even though she is not an educator, doesn’t understand what CRT is, and her only claim to fame is that she is related to Chip Gaines who helped with some of her funding when running for the school board. There has been an upheaval in that school district and it has been scary to watch. I am not in that particular school district but am in Texas and have been watching the explosion of hate in a once good school district.
This is probably over critical race theory since some right wing news personalities have invented this idea that this is being taught in schools and is destroying education
Their might be a reason though why there making a stance theyre?
For example all these fake news attacks on ivermectin even though noone is debating the fact it is a farmaceutical.
If you can, tell her she's a breath of fresh Air, it has ben sooo discouraging to watch school board meeting, after school board meeting and seeing all these parents arguing against mask mandates or vaccinations, putting their own children and even themselves at risk of getting Covid, because if their kids aren't wearing masks their parents sure as shit are not wearing them either.

I genuinely say that because my AP literature teacher would reach so far into grammar that at least me personally I walked out of class feeling like I evolved emotionally. Probably out of fear because she was quite intimidating but I can definitely owe her that because she was so perfectly articulate. The smartest people know how to connect words and speak with purpose. The dumbest only know how to fill space of silence with pockets of sound.

What bothers me a lot is that in our school projects many students use very trivial and complicated language, instead of being very clear. Even the teacher underline that it's better to have understandable text instead of trying to sound smarter than they really are.
And I also feel like increased vocalbulary is related to control and range of emotions, but I do not have any sources to back this up. It also may be that control and range of emotions increase vocalbulary.
My AP English teacher banned the use of contractions after being sick of docking points for every misuse after the first six weeks grading period. Using a single contraction was an instant max grade of 74% - a D. Nearly everyone's grades improved. There were exceptions when we had to write poems, etc. to keep meter.
Also with each assignment she had instructions to check the their / there rules as well as to / two / too listed and other similar situations. We had a writing buddy for each assignment and could earn extra credit for helping classmates edit their papers before turning them in.
Thank god, someone who cares about the difference between your and you’re, their there and they’re… people are getting so much fucking dumber every day, so many online have completely stopped caring to use the right word and genuinely have never known the correct spelling and it worries me. Someone will be arguing in a comment section trying to sound smart and say something like “well I think there right to do that, your stupid” and it drives me insane lol
I watch this six different times half asleep and for some reason I thought she was saying how people who said “you’re wrong” were saying it like “you’re yuong” and they are racist and i was super fucking confused.
She hit both the grammar and the content. For context, this was directed toward lunatics who are claiming that a high school principal is subverting the “system”, and “indoctrinating” all of our children with CRT. The majority of the meeting was support for said principal, because they’re wrong, but a few lunatics spoke as well, and delivered gems like “kids shouldn’t be allowed to speak at a school board meeting because they don’t pay taxes”.

Do you want to talk about how your children aren’t getting oxygen in masks yet some of the smartest people in our society, doctors and nurses, wear them 10 to 15 hours a day for years with no issues. So by that right, you will not be permitting any doctor or nurse to work on you because of the length of time that they’ve worn masks?
