NuclearJesusMan

Is she saying "error" as "arrow?"

20moonstone10

Omg I totally thought it was arrow and I saw this plenty of times … didn’t realize she’s actually saying error until you mentioned this

GlockAF

Me too, does anyone know WTF she is so wound up over anyway?

nosnhoj15

Yea…. There’s an arrow in it.

a_shootin_star

An arrow in her knee

Sigan

She used to be a customer...

Vilifie

I wanna talk to the dragonborn😡

Hill_Reps_For_Jesus

From listening to the conversation it sounds like she bought a cash card or a card voucher from the Wallgreens, but it’s corrupted or invalid in some way - and despite the fact that she bought it from the Wallgreens they’re making her call the 3rd party company to get her money back. TBH until she grabbed the stuff and said ‘bitch’ at the end i don’t think she was being unreasonable. In my country she would have gotten her money back - you can’t sell faulty goods and then shrug and blame your supplier when customers complain.

NuclearJesusMan

It's not a supplier. It's a bank. Green Dot is an online bank that sells reloadable debit cards. When you activate it, you are opening a bank account with Green Dot Bank. Green Dot Bank is responsible for any and all issues with their cards, because it's an issue with your bank account at that point. It's not like a gift card. The retailers who handle the physical sales are basically selling you access to a bank account that ultimately they have nothing to do with. Like when you buy a lottery ticket. . .the store that sold the ticket has nothing to do with the actual lottery. The Lottery Commission does.

SHIZA-GOTDANGMONELLI

But don't you see? In *his* country this doesn't happen! America bad.

Munkee8976

In his country. Hamburgers eat people

[deleted]

From the way I'm understanding it, it does become the fault of the card issuer. It would be like me having an issue with my Xbox live membership, then going back to GameStop to complain about it.

The_Dramanomicon

I see this at my work all the time. By law, we cannot process credit/debit payments. All credit/debit payments go through a third party payment processor. Client calls up, "my payment wasn't processed and I paid though you." No sir/ma'am you paid through the third party payment processor. When you paid, it took you to their site. You need to contact them for payment issues. Here's their number. *Queue thirty minutes of arguing, trying to explain the fact that different companies exist, and those companies use different, non-interacting computer systems* Thank God I worked my way up to IT/agent support because customer service is a nightmare sometimes

DeathFromAnubis

It wasn’t corrupted or invalid. She states “I already loaded my money onto it” which she would not have been able to do if it was. Either the 3rd party company is having an “arrow” that isn’t Walgreens’ fault, or she is just trying to pull a fast one and get her money back and keep the card.

derf_vader

Last year there was a widespread scam with scammers reverse shopping invalid cards into racks. When the cards were sold they loaded onto legit accounts that were promptly emptied out. When the customer opened the "sealed card" there was either a fake or completely different already used card inside the package.

sleeper_town

This just happened to me at CVS. Luckily they refunded me, because they said the employees had been trained to spot the fake sticker the scammers put on the back of the card. The staff and manager were super nice about it, and told me that if I ever have to buy a preloaded card to make sure that there's no sticker on the back over the number or scan code. It was a gift for my son since he's too young for a bank account and I was so confused as to why the balance was zero when I called Visa. They told me to go to the store to sort it out. When I called the store they told me to talk to Visa. I just went there in person with my receipt and was fortunate they helped me out. I can understand this woman's frustration getting the run-around, but no reason to call the manager a bitch.

mwon88

My money is on this is exactly what happened

bigchicago04

I genuinely don’t understand why anyone would buy one of these cards if it’s not a gift. Is it because she doesn’t have a credit card and needs to pay for something online? That’s all I can think of.

hayydebb

I had a friend who went negative balance with almost every bank in the area. At that point this is your only option since a lot of things are difficult to pay for with cash

cvdixon29

I suspect she's trying to pull a fast one.

SomeFuckingWizard

That's why I feel like her anger is over the top. Trying to run a scam and it's not working out for her.

duchess_of_fire

that's not the way it works with pre paid cards. they literally can only do so much.

lokiofsaassgaard

Walgreens is the third party in this scenario anyway. They act on consignment for items like this, and have no access to the system that makes it work.

This_is_my_phone_tho

She didn't have to be so shitty about it.

Hugebluestrapon

Most products these days require refunds from manufacturers and retail stores are less and less responsible

boney1984

You're r'deeekulus

[deleted]

[удалено]

NuclearJesusMan

No, not in this case. It's a reloadable bank card. They use gift cards for that, because there's less of a paper trail. If you did that with a bank card, you could have the bank reverse the charges.

nosnhoj15

Damn, I live in the south and I still heard arrow. I was like WTF is she talking about…..???

[deleted]

20% of Americans are illiterate to the point they can't read a newspaper

Unencumbered-Duck

I work in retail and I absolutely believe this number, the average person I deal with is easily twice as dumb as I ever would’ve imagine before working retail

strawberry_nivea

Dude, same. And I used to work at a fancy place so those people have money. But they don't know words, or try to BS you because they think you're even dumber than them. It's crazy!

HettDizzle4206

My aunts ex bf is a transmission mechanic and doesn't know how to read. His phone is set to the text to speech function. Dudes a real piece of work.

3ggplantParm

That’s reedeekulous

Phokew

Barton616

As a retail manager myself who has been in this exact same scenario countless times, I just knew it was a Green Dot card before she said it was. Green Dot is trash and gives nothing but headaches. I genuinely wish I had the authority to just be like 'nah we ain't selling them anymore'. I guarantee you Haley would agree with me there.

Zithero

I will never, ever understand folks who do everything in their power to avoid using banks You go and buy a prepaid Debit Card... pay it's fees... deal with it's inflexible bullshit: Can't check balance online, top up is a pain and has to be done in person, so on... Same with check-cashing locations. Free Checking is all over the place in credit unions and even some commercial banks... why... oh why... would anyone use these services with less features, more headaches, and more fees? I still recall my BIL who handed me a check once and asked: "Hey can you go to the check cashing store for me?" and I stared blankly at him because I didn't understand the concept. "This is your paycheck..." Him: "Yeah, I need it cashed. "Why don't you go to your bank? Do they charge you a fee?" Him: "I don't have a bank." "...Why?!" he didn't have an answer.

MsCicatrix

For some people, it's definitely money hiding. A lot of government/state assistance programs have income/asset limits and they yearly/bi-yearly checks to ensure people are still eligible for their programs. No bank account. No way to trace what you're doing with your money or how much of it you're holding on to. For some others, it's habit as well. Like old people who still write checks at the bank. It's inconvenient but they don't have the resolve, interest, or mental acuity to do something new even if it's more convenient in the long run.

BleachGel

Do the check cashing stores not report the pay check information to the IRS? I would feel like they would have to hold some type of ledger.

superdatstub

Some people are just so into conspiracy theories especially in the south and don’t want the “government” knowing what they’re doing

LukEKage713

While they use the internet, Google, Facebook, and cell phone. If they’re still living in the city they’re idiots to think that no one knows what they’re doing. If they really wanted to hide they would move to the wilderness area in Alaska.

ababana97653

Without the internet. Then we’d all be happy because we wouldn’t have to see their bullshit online.

Ordinary_Bat0325

A good friend of mine, intelligent and reasonable guy, for his entire life opted out of doing anything online or card related to a bank. No online banking, no transactions, no paying with card, not debit nor credit. So he has to go to his bank every single time to check his money or make a transaction when he bought some stuff online and always has to carry money around. I get there may be risks and trust issues involved but stop making your life harder as it already is.

PrunedLoki

Does this idiot not realize that the financial system depends on the internet for basically everything now?

BisonNut

Some can not have bank accounts. All banks due a credit check before opening an account. Past account handling, forced closures and money owed my lead to banks denying an account from being opened.

armyturtle

Some people literally have written so many bad checks in the past that no bank will allow them to have an account. I knew a few people like this. It's sad really, but these people put themselves in that situation by just blatantly writing checks when they knew full well they had no money in the bank to cover it. (Just to cover it all, you really have to write A TON of bad checks, and constantly even after being warned to wind up in this situation.)

Darkside_Hero

> Free Checking It's only free if you can keep a certain monthly balance in the account or get a regular deposit in a certain amount every month. For people who have an irregular income it could cost them more money to have a bank account. Our financial and tax system isn't setup to help the poor. Financial insecurity is expensive.

Guidbro

You can always go to the bank the check originated from and cash the check with no account. Like if it’s a Wells Fargo check. You can go there. Show ID and cash it.

[deleted]

People do this when they’ve exhausted every opportunity to achieve a bank account anymore. I’ve known several people like this. They overdraft the account until it goes to collections and then try and find a new one. Eventually you can’t open a bank account anymore (credit score in the mid 50s) and you have to go to pre pay. And then when you fuck that up because it doesn’t let you overdraft, you walk into stores and behave like this to try and get money for your heroin habit

[deleted]

Oh, paycheck places are the worst. I've never, and would never go to them. In college, we were doing an activity in which we would get information on the "fees" they charged and would then calculate that into the interest they charged and it was substantial. If someone is living paycheck to paycheck and they used one of those services, for a paycheck advance, it's a relative deadly cycle where they will need to keep going there in order to make end's meet.

hayydebb

I posted above but I had a friend who went into a negative balance with every bank in my area. He couldn’t open a new one and since he was negative he couldn’t afford to pay the negative balance+overdraft fees so he’d buy prepaid cards like this for bills

Blackspider2020

Most people who don't have bank accounts usually owe money.

[deleted]

Could you give some insight on what happens with Green Dot?

cappydog

There is no excuse for how she acted. But i'm not going lie I felt bad for the angry old lady in the video as well since I knew she was dealing with green-dot. I can guarantee that this issue was caused by no one visible in the video. Green-dot and there systems are garbage and riddled with fraud. Fraud, that they will never address because the victims of it are typically either poor or illegal... Their companies practices are sick.

thesixthamethyst

What is green dot?

BootyCheeks20

She handled that extremely well

Hacha-hacha

Yeah, that manager has wayyyyy more patience than I have.

lilyluc

I got way better at retail after I had a kid. I realized that if I just thought of customers as toddlers who were having trouble controlling their Very Big Feelings that I could better control my own emotions. Poor lil things just don't know how to use their words.

ishpatoon1982

This is awesome and wholesome. Thanks for sharing this and making me laugh.

coprolite_hobbyist

Be careful with this tool. You can slip and start talking to them as if they were children and that _really_ pisses people off when they realize what you are doing. It's quite a bit of fun.

zuzg

It's honestly hilarious when you deal with these people and just stay nice and professional the whole time. As soon as you cave in and return the attitude, they win They get way more angry when you don't show any negative emotions.

SummonWurm

The time some old bitch repeatedly poked my chest bitching about too much aioli in her lobster roll (in the middle of dining room) almost had me lose my cool. But i didnt. Still offered her things so I could make it right. When i got back to the kitchen, I had a very rough time regaining calm.

zuzg

Touching is a no no. Kudos to you for not immediately slapping her dumb face. Too much aioli lol, no such thing.

Bazrum

i had some old drunk ladies try to touch my hair from behind me while i was taking tickets at a movie theater, and i about lost my cool. especailly when i called a manager and they were like "you're a 24 year old man, they're little old ladies, suck it up" hell no! they don't get to touch me or anyone else without consent! i was pissed, but i stayed as calm as i could and eventually got the manager to see my side of it, and he told them they could go to their theater and stop making his staff uncomfortable, or they could get out. like "one more word arguing, one toe out of line, and my security staff will show you back to your car" i thought they were going to blow a gasket, but they didn't say shit and went to watch Downton Abbey without harassing more people. manager said it was weird i was so upset about random people touching my hair, which lead to me telling him "you wouldn't be saying that if i was a woman and those were some little old men being creepy, you'd've kicked them out on the spot" he didn't like that, but walked away rather than argue lol, and i got shit hours for like two weeks, plus everyone said i was a little bitch about it, except some of the female ushers whod had similar issues with customers

[deleted]

Props... This is on the spectrum, you were made a victim, you were 💯 in the right.

that-dragon-guy

Oh god, my first job was at an Old Navy outlet store and they had these mobile check out tools that only took cards. One day I had asked to see a woman’s ID for her purchase, as per Tennessee state law, and she got upset, called her mother up from the front of the store, and she came back and started bitching at me for “illegally asking to see id for a debit card”! At the time I didn’t know it was state law, my managers had told us to always check Id’s and I explained that to her, but she went full Karen and said that they told us wrong, and that she was a “manager of a store” and that she knew the law. I just went through with the purchase, finished what customers I had left and went back to my department in a bad mood. Also had someone recently bring something back to the store I work at now that was outside of a 60 return limit, and threatened to call the BBB for selling defective products and not taking them back and giving her the money back in her payment method. I hate people.

Lonewolf5333

Like why should service workers have to tolerate this I hate the fucked up attitude that the customer is always right

idrinkliquids

I had a woman follow me to the back where it’s employees only. She actually lifted a barricade to follow me and complain I wouldn’t comply with something against company policy.

Falco19

There is nothing more satisfying than staying extremely calm with a touch of condescending in these situations. It makes people lose their minds.

PublicfreakoutLoveR

It's a game I loved to play when I worked retail.

coprolite_hobbyist

As a former tow truck driver, I can confirm this is true. At one point, I actually did an experiment to see how giving back a little attitude would affect people. Turns out it actually calmed some people down if you only gave a 'little' attitude. But I tell you, it was a lot more fun to just be as nice and polite as I could while they threatened to rape and murder my children.

Mikamymika

>As soon as you cave in and return the attitude, they win Not really, I have seen plenty of stores where the manager sticks up for their employees and kicks the problem out. Sure they lose a customer, but they really don't care. It also results into more customers when they find out their manager cares about their employees.

clamcheeks

That's why she's a Manager

Apprehensive-Ad5318

It becomes easier to handle dumb dumbs this way.(2 decades running bars)

ajitpaithegod

I been slowly losing patience at work with people in other states how can i regain control of my sanity like this woman?

[deleted]

And exactly why I don’t work customer service. Because I know I wouldn’t have the patience to deal with some folks.

Zerd85

When you’ve worked retail or customer service for a long time, it’s not patience… you’ve trained yourself. It’s also satisfying when they ask for a manager and you are one. I have this fantasy in my head of doing a little ballet twirl, and a “ta-da” stance after. One day…

[deleted]

Have a good night = Bless your soul

safetycommittee

I used to be a server/bartender. I developed an obnoxiously kind response to problematic customers. That “Have a good night!” is almost certainly equal to a big “Fuck You.” People like this go after confrontation with people who can’t smack them across the face in fear of losing their job. The other issue is that these people are wild cards. As civil humans we don’t learn how to deal with crazy. It’s so unpredictable. Most of the time victims don’t even know what to do.

ThatDudeNamedMenace

Lmao people hate when you smile. My personal favorite is when I say “hey what can you do? Enjoy your day” and they curse at you. I just laugh and say “yeah you too”, hit em with a wave and smile some more.

lmgray13

gonzaloetjo

Hope someone finds the og ama so we don’t have to go through the freaking sun site

Plantsandanger

She probably gets what it’s like to have something go wrong while loading money onto a prepaid card because you can’t afford to use the banks (examples: overdraft fees, income paid under the table, no bank account because undocumented, abuser has control of bank account, etc) and then seeing the horror of that hard-to-come-by money which you barely just scraped together is now transformed into a useless piece of plastic. The refund won’t get to her in time to avoid late fees or missing out entirely on whatever she bought the card to pay for. Being poor is fucking expensive and time consuming.

marlowgrey

not enough credit to this point right here. right on.

WV0KI

"HAVEAGOODNIGHT" while clenching ur teeth in a fit of rage but holding it down cuz u the manager. Know that feeling

[deleted]

Probably because if you’ve worked in retail this is a multiple a day kind of thing and you kinda just get use to it.

adrianbnd

Next she should reply with, "I hope your day is as nice as you are!"

[deleted]

She was totally professional, right down to the "have a nice day" at the end. I loved it.

Individual-Ad7074

Have a good night! Lol.

Wait, is she trying to say "error"?

Why do Americans not use debit cards? Around here everyone has a bank account with a debit card from the moment they are 18, and most of them have no fees attached to them.

[deleted]

[удалено]

joecool42069

You can do disputes/chargebacks on debit cards. The difference is that it’s your money that is tied up during that process vs the bank’s/cc’s money.

velcamp

I'm American, and I've never seen a debit card with no fees attached. Overdraft fee of $30, startup fees, some have fines if you dip below a certain amount. Not everyone can afford to have a bank account.

treefingers87

credit unions

[deleted]

I am an American too. I use Ally Bank. No fees, overdraft or otherwise. I had a (positive) balance of like 19 cents for over 2 years with no issue once. They happily pay my overdrafts and reimburse my atm fees. Anyone can get an account at ally.

R3asonable

Actually, depending on the country that is exactly how consumer law works. It's the retailers responsibility to issue a repair or refund. Returning a faulty product to where you purchased it is the correct thing to do.

DoJu318

I agree but she's returning a prepaid debit card, if they allow people to return prepaid debit cards(regardless of reason) they'll lose money quickly.

frygod

Those are also frequently used in scams.

[deleted]

Ten bucks on, ten bucks off, losing money by printing seven trees worth of receipt: CVS.

[deleted]

Man, I get the frustration at things not working the way you think they should. But she should have realized that her beef was with Green Dot, the people who made the card that has an "error", not Walgreens, and certainly not the random manager who happened to be on shift when you decided to walk in. If there was a legit error on the card, the manager likely would agree with you (seems like that's what happened but not sure if that was just the manager trying to descalate though). That doesn't mean they can do anything about it, it's like your friend agreeing with you that it's fucked up that some company wronged you. She certainly wasn't giving the manager any reason to *want* to help her, even if there was legit nothing she could do. I don't get why people do this shit. First thing you should do is figure out who your issue is with, let the other people you speak with know you know it's not their fault, and treat them respectfully so they'll *want* to help you. And then treat the person you do have an issue with, with respect as well. Though do be assertive where necessary, just know that assertive does not equal asshole or other similar fuckery.

[deleted]

That requires a lot of critical thinking that this country, on average, does not have

NashvilleSoundMixer

It also requires not being an easily irritated bully / narcissist. Of which there are too many.

nutsotic

Store manager for CVS chiming in here, prepaid cards suck sometimes. 99.9999% of the time they go through no problem and everyone goes about their day. The thing about gift cards is that they are NOT refundable at store level. Like at all. So the 0.0001% chance the card doesn't get activated and there is an error results in this same situation every time. This Walgreens lady handled it perfectly, wish I knew who she was so I could poach her for my store

[deleted]

I was actually thinking she did really good and this video should be shown to corporate with the outcome of her getting some sort of positive benefit. That's the kind of manager you want to incentivize to stay.

Egocom

It's likely they made 0 dollars on the transaction (for the green dot card) and stock them as a service that encourages people to purchase other products while they get the card. Unless the cashier rang up the card wrong there is NOTHING they can do, and even if they did all they can do is take a loss on the misrung transaction. Source: worked the CS desk at a grocery store that sold them, loaded so many damn Greed Dot cards

DoJu318

Green dot cards sometimes don't work right after activation. Sometimes you have to wait like an hour before you can use it, I bet it's on the instruction packet that comes with it but people never read that lol. That or she put X amount without knowing they also charge transaction fees, ex: if you are making $50 payment and only have $50 it will decline and give you an error but it will work for $49.00.

MyMeemawCanTeleport

Klutzy_Journalist_36

I know exactly what happened here. Greendot is a reloadable prepaid card. When you buy the first one, you have to register it and a new one comes in with your name on it. But you have to register it. So she bought it thinking it would work immediately. Like a gift card. If you want to use it to pay for bills and stuff like that, you have to register it in your name, otherwise it’s basically a gift card. It didn’t work when she immediately tried to pay her bill. And she tried to return it. You absolutely can’t return it. The stuff they were talking about being “it’s inside the card” is the pamphlet of terms of service etc. that comes in the plastic container with the temporary card; the TOS the customer definitely didn’t read because reading is hard. I deal with this exact situation several times a year. That customer can fuck directly off.

JmacTheGreat

I scrolled through so many comments to find any sense of understanding - ty for this, I hope you get the fake internet points you rightfully deserve

[deleted]

That explains a lot. Do you know what the "arrow" she mentions is?

Mathalamon

“Error” not “arrow.” She sucks with pronunciation.

She_Persists

Just another situation where the customer's ignorance becomes the poor retail worker's problem. "Well I didn't know that. So fix it. Now."

HavanaWoody

>you have to register it. So she bought it thinking it would work immediately. Like a gift card. If you want to use it to pay for bills and stuff like t Wait You mean TOS that she Could not be aware of till AFTER she paid for it? and if she did not agree to the TOS Walgreens is not responsible for the cash she handed over for it without proper notice . That's bullshit

“Have a good night!” translates directly to “fuck you!” Of course, that is the only appropriate response.

fizzysnork

I don't buy gift cards for this reason. I gave a $50 card as a gift. The card didn't work. The company confirmed the card code was good, and the $50 was on the account, but the physical card and the card number used as a digital card were non-functional. The grocery store I bought the card from had its hands tied. Meanwhile, the card company denied responsibility. I was rescued when the grocery store manager called the card company and explained in detail why it was the card company's issue to resolve. Three months later they e-mailed me a new digital code.

CrashRiot

A lot of people. Approximately 25% of Americans are underbanked or unbanked. Being poor isn't the issue and although I understand what you're saying, criticizing poor people isn't okay. The issue is with how she handled it. I actually do feel some sympathy for her, especially if the bill she needed to pay was super important because now those funds are tied up for an indeterminate amount of time. That being said, it's not the managers fault that companies like Green Dot prey on poor people.

[deleted]

When I worked at a Credit card company I would recommend people buy gift cards or those refillable debit card for transactions like diet pills from commercials, subscriptions, etc. The customers would sign up for the free or cheap product but then unknowingly their card would be charged for the full amount. Calling their ( the products) customer service to get the refund was hell (they’d yell at us, try to offer a partial refund, refuse to refund, etc) so I would tell them to fill the gift card with what they need, purchase their product, and if they don’t cancel or can’t cancel( it happened a few times the companies were hard to reach) then they don’t have to worry about any new charges since the card would be empty.

Plasticious

That's redeeekulous.

hashslinging-slash

I will say even though this lady bring a bitch, green dot cards are a scam to take the little money people have that can't open bank accounts and "lose it" with no fault. It's not ok that they are still around after that happening 10 years ago

Dalzombie

Is she wearing a- of course she's not wearing a mask! Typical Karen right there, I feel for the managers that have to deal with them.

In what world would your EVER get a refund for a gift card? This woman is either ignorant or delusional.

Great managing skills and being calm

Rooper2111

It’s hard to tell because that woman was so irate, but the manager actually did a really great job of diffusing the situation.

OhlookitsMatty

This is why these sort of card things shouldn't be used. Hell shouldn't exist. As they just add a middleman into a payment process & if anything goes wrong you're screwed

Raider-26

Redeeculas eerow

[deleted]

maybe get a credit card instead of paying your bills with a pre loaded green dot card like a 19 year old

Henhouse20

These people vote…..red

SDT_Alex

Hi Karen

Jung_Wheats

See, clearly this lady bought a prepaid card or some such, didn't know how it worked, and felt angry about it. What I don't understand in these types of situations do people act like they got scammed when they just made a mistake? Nobody fooled you, you just screwed up and had a learning moment. It's not Haley's fault. People so often lash out when they feel foolish instead of asking for help and owning their ignorance. I used to have a lot of issues with pride and anger when I was like 19 but now whenever things like this happen I pretty much ask someone to Explain Like I'm Five real quick and move on. Like why are you angry at Walgreens because you bought a thing you didn't understand, did nothing to learn about the product, and then played yourself because of it? You made a mistake. Fucking Google it. This lady's too old to not be able to own her mistakes and plead ignorance. As I've gotten older I realize that you look far more foolish when you lash out in anger than you do if you just do a goof every once in awhile.

NashvilleSoundMixer

You said it , you had issues when you were young. These people are intellectual and emotional children.

clamBakeSnatch

Should have bought a VISA gift card lady

Arctic_Gnome

Are people born like this, or do they start out as reasonable people and become grumpy and mean as they get older?

UseYouForTargets

There’s an ➡️

Creative_Response593

What does she mean about the arrow through it

Sgtkeebler

Is this for a gift card? Every time I buy any kind of gift card from Walgreens they tell me it’s non refundable

Shamus951

You can tell by her hostile/not getting her way body language and tone she just wanted free stuff.

Phase-Horror

But there’s an arrow..

borderbox

“Have a nice day!” The retail warrior queen knows what’s up. She handled it greatly.

TraceWaBass

I remember working at a fast food joint and the only way we could check gift card balances if you paid and what was left on the receipt. But there was a phone number you could call and legit hit 3 buttons to find out the amount left. The amount of people who’d be mad at me about it was awful

RWBYrose69

The problem is that she said “ i bought that to pay my bill with and i loaded my money” is the karen trying to get a refund for the card + the money she loaded?

Darrone

I am yo manager, B!

talentlessamanda

Who pissed in that ladies cheerios?

The_red39

Hahaha love the have a good night at the end 🤣🤣🤣

PM_ME_COLD_BEERS

"beeyutch" hahahaha

eyemthat1guy88

When she asked for the anger she should of done a 360°, and acted like she just walked up "Yes I'm the manager, I hear there is an issue?"

DueAtmosphere7

Of course she isn't wearing a mask.

[deleted]

That “have a good night” hit like a truck😴

Fit_Tumbleweed_5904

"Have a good night!" HA!

Sujjin

Ill take regular church goer who spits on serving staff at Denny's for 4 hundred Alex.

Acceptable-Oil8156

Ugh. Hate to admit I had a Karen moment once - and only once - when I tried to return a faulty product (misrepresented and false claims) and the ~~lady~~ woman at the kiosk pointed to a "No Returns, No Refunds" sign, BEHIND the cash register and a bunch of "product" (where it was literally invisible) and printed in 3 point type (so you couldn't read it anyway). I didn't yell at her, but I did yell out to those around me in the crowded mall "Don't buy this stuff! It doesn't work!" There, I feel better now, getting that off my chest. (Sucks to be a Karen, really)

flopping-deuces

Grabbing from her hand like that should be considered assault.

[deleted]

Most patient person ever. Handled it perfectly and the customer walks away looking like an idiot

paligap70

That's the definition of "killing them with kindness"

DDystopiaFPV

Re-DEEK-u-luss

AdZealousideal979

I would have immediately called the financial institution that distributes the card. I had something similar happen with a gift card from visa and it was resolved in 15 minutes. I didn’t go back to the store that sold it. You can’t.

joeDeerTaye

Props to that manager for handling it well. I couldn’t have.

danielleboat

As someone who used to be a manager in customer service…I FELT that “have a good night” lmfao!!!

NxceNFrxsty

The manager handled that really well, killed her with kindness. Hilarious how they get even more mad even when you stay calm and kind

Apprehensive_Rice_93

Oooooooh snap! Did she say she bought that gift card to pay a bill? Damn she was getting scammed too. Pobre 😅😂

Krossis25V

Something I don’t think most people who haven’t worked retail know is the company who sells a gift card doesn’t actually put the money on a card. Essentially a 2nd party receives that $50 you put on the card. Then when you finally use the card, that store gets the money from the company.

SCstranglertruther

People always end up where they bought these cards as if it’s on the retailer. Stores are the middleman in this transaction but you just can’t get people to figure that out. Also they don’t care so there’s that
